Angelica opened her eyes only to find herself in an unfamiliar bed and an unfamiliar white room. "What the hell…"
She looked around quickly to take in the room. With the number of charts and machines, she realized that she had landed herself back in the hospital...again.
"Angelica! Do you have any idea where you are at!?"
A young blond game bursting into the room, disrupting the uncomfortable silence. Angelica quickly put her hands up to her ears to block out some of the volume.
"Morgan...calm down. I'm fine."
The blond girl groaned and took a seat beside the bed, taking a moment to watch her friend's face. "You're so stupid. I've worked with you for two years now, and you always go too far. Do you know that we found you in your penthouse this morning unresponsive. Apparently! You drank too much and you shut down or something! I don't know! I'm not a doctor!"
Angelica knew that the lecture would go on from here, but she couldn't help but look at the girl. Morgan had been a close friend in college, as well as a daughter of new money that created close ties with the Steel Company. Since graduation, they had been known as an unstoppable team whose work is unparalleled by anyone else in the buisness world, but most importantly, she's the only person that loved Angelica as Angelica, not Baset or Ms. Steel.
"Morgan. Stop. I get it. Just give me a rundown of what has happened. Only the important stuff. You can be upset with me later." Angelica sighed softly and patted the bed to see if her phone had been brought along with her.
Morgan met Angelica's gaze and gave a deep sigh. "The incident did not reach the press or social media. The paterons have been informed that Baset would not be present tonight, which is normal for a Monday, however your father has been contacted due to the use of your medical expense card."
Angelica opened her mouth to speak, but a knock on the door interrupted her. A tall, dark skinned man, who Angelica recognized as Dr. Lee Smith, the Steel's person health advisor entered the room and gave a long sigh.
"Ms. Steel, your body is in wonderful health. You are a healthy weight for a woman your size. Your hormones are balanced surprising well for a woman of 22, and yet, you party your way in here." Dr. Smith stopped as if to take a breath before he continued and took a moment to double check a chart that was on the counter. "Listen. I'm not going to sit here and lecture you. You were extremely dehydrated when you arrived this morning. They gave you fluids via IV and made sure that you didn't drown in your own vomit when you came to. Once you eat and use the bathroom, we will be allowed to release you...I would also expect a call from your father."
He then turned and left the room, allowing the two girls to green a long silence.
"Morgan. Go ahead and work on the discharge paperwork. I would like to go home and rest in my own bed." Angelica's gaze was blank and she turned to face the window that gazed out above all the surroundings buildings, a luxury, only for the select few.
