Macy dragged her wobbly feet into the living room and lowered herself unto the sofa.
She was weak, too weak to throw a tantrum, too weak to even cry.
Four hours since she arrived home and Daniel hasn't come back yet.
He had most definitely forgotten of his promise to pick her up today.
Probably because he's having the best time of his life with the love of his life.
She closed her eyes to block off the mental images that her mind was constructing.
The thought of Daniel being in the arms of another woman, loving her just like he'd loved her, broke her heart into tiny bits and pieces.
She thought of the many things he'd told her,the many promises he'd made her.
'I love you so much, more than even my poor heart can withstand'.
Lies!
They had all been lies.
He had been using her to pass time, while he waited for his real love to come back to him.
He would probably say those same words to Lisa now that they were back together.
She had been a fool to have desperately swallowed every word that had come out of his mouth.
She sat there, stiff faced and kept asking herself what she was doing.
Was she going to sit back here and drown herself in the river of self pity?
Daniel could walk in any moment and tell her to her face that he'd gotten his fill of her and didn't need her anymore.
She sighed.
She wouldn't let that happen anyways.
She may be homeless and needy but she was most certainly not stupid.
Standing up,she made her way into his bedroom, anger replacing the hurt she felt.
Anger that after spending so much time convincing herself that she was worth anything, it turned out that she was still that piece of rag that anyone could discard at the moment it suited them.
Anger that after her indulgence in the euphoric fantasy of been utterly and completely in love, she'd found herself back in that blurry space of loneliness she'd so eagerly leapt out from only a while ago.
Anger that Daniel could betray her the way he'd just done.
She hadn't thought towards this angle.
She had been so mentally unprepared for this.
Obviously, these past few weeks had been a dream. Now, Daniel had woken her up to her harsh reality.
The reality that try all she could, she would never find real love.
She'd always run round that same circle of giving her all and then always getting used and dumped by the people that meant the whole world to her.
Now,she was going to face that reality heads on.
She wasn't going to keep moping around, feeling sorry for herself.
When she got to his room, she gathered her things and angrily flung them into the small suitcase she'd used to transfer them to his room.
She would move back to her own room.
She wasn't going to find herself in the same space with him anymore.
By the time he'd be back, the message would be all too clear for him to miss.
Whatever they had had would be erased completely, like it never ever happened...
She stopped.
Would moving out of his room mean anything?
What about staying in the same house with him?
Would she be able to even make any attempt at fighting her hormones?
What about looking at him and instantly turning into jelly?
Would she be able to resist him?
Even now,her traitorous body was trembling in remembrance of the many things he'd made her feel...the many things she'd never forget.
She sighed again.
Moving out of his room would mean absolutely nothing.
The best thing would be to move out of his life.
That thought made her steps falter.
Could she do that?
Of course, she would.
She had no choice.
Leaving and not been there when Daniel brought back his woman would be less humiliating.
It'd be better if they met her absence.
It'd even save Daniel the stress of politely asking her to leave because he was such a polite man.
When she got to her room, she emptied the content of the suitcase and hung most of her clothes back.
She only picked a few things she'd be needing and packed them into the case.
If she had enough money, she wouldn't even pick a thing from him house, but as usual, she was choiceless.
When she was done packing, she arranged everything in the room perfectly, trying to summon a mental picture of what it had looked like when she'd first arrived, weeks ago.
When she bent over to return the jewelry box into the small drawer by her bedside, she felt bile rise to her throat and tears sting the side of her eyes.
She hurried into the bathroom and emptied the content of her stomach into the toilet bowl.
Her stomach was still heaving and her eyes still stung when she came out of the bathroom.
Her eyes darted to the dressing mirror and she shrank back in distaste at the stranger staring back at her.
Her skin had turned pale and her eyes, which were still glistening with tears were almost bulging out of their sockets, with huge shadowy bags under them and her hair was completely messed up.
When had she gone from the radiant pregnant woman who knew nothing but complete happiness, to this...THIS?!
Still unsuccessful at keeping her tears at bay,she picked her suitcase and handbag and went back to the living room.
What she was about to do was crazy and impulsive but she was going to do it nonetheless.
She was about leaving the only man who'd spoken love to her,the only man who'd truly shown her what it felt like to actually be in love.
The only man who'd made her want things, feel things.
Daniel had been her Knight and her hero and she dreaded to taste life without him.
But she knew better than to stay where she was not wanted.
She'd be better off going back to her parents.
She was sure by now they'd -her mom especially - have gotten over their resentment for their rebellious daughter and would gladly welcome her back into their arms, especially now that she had a baby on the way.
She unfolded the magazine she'd so angrily crumpled and laid it on the side stool that was closest to the door.
Best he sees it as soon as he gets into the house. That way,she could tell him that she'd gotten his message, loud and clear.
Taking one last glance at the living room of the house she'd called home for close to two months; A home she was sure she'd never come back to,she turned around, gently locked the door behind her and walked into the street, her tears falling unrestrained.
