Chapter 10: Jealousy

"Please welcome Starsdom's host Karen Kay!" The announcer said and she walked to the stage waving at the crowd.

"Hi, everybody, and welcome to Starsdom" she yelled happily and the crowd started cheering.

"I can't hear you!" She placed her right hand in her ear and the people yelled louder.

"Okay, so let's call the contestants. Who's ready?" She asked, The crowd yelled once again.

She started calling the contestants. Some received more attention but that didn't surprise me.

"Louise Oxlade!" She came out, did a little twirl, and sat down.

"Damien Evans!" He calmly walked to his seat and gave them his sexy grin. The crowd erupted and he sat hiding his smile. Oh crap, I was next. If I could run away, that would be great.

"Adryan Levithan!" She calls me and I felt my heart drop.

"Don't stand there move!" One of the producers yelled. I took a deep breath and I entered the stage. The crowd never stopped cheering. I normally walked to my seat and sat next to Damien. I didn't want to pose or do anything awkward, because I'll look stupid and weird.

"You okay?" Damien said in my ear. "I'm shaking like crazy," I said and he laughed. He playfully shoved my shoulder and said,

"me too" Feeling him this close to me made my stomach turn into one thousand knots.

"Clarissa Butcher!" She skipped and did a cartwheel halfway. The crowd went nuts and she did another one.

"Jacks Chang!" The crowd cheered even louder when his name was called. He walked like a supermodel and winked at the audience making them go even crazier. I looked at Damien and he rolled his eyes. She finished calling us,

"this is where the fun begins" She started clapping and jumped around for like five seconds.

"Anyways, on the screen, you will see who will perform first. Should we get started?" The fans cheered once again.

"Okay, so the first person performing for us today is..." The screen showed pictures of all of us in fast motion until it landed on... Jacks. The fans went crazy.

"Jacks is the first person performing for us. Let's wait a few minutes until we get everything ready" She said happily. Jacks went backstage to get ready and the stage lights turned off and they started setting up the stage for his performance. We all sat there watching everything. Jacks returned and stood in the center of the stage. The lights turned on and his song started playing. It was an upbeat hip hop song. He started singing and he was really good live. It almost sounded like a backup track but it wasn't. He walked around the stage and did these sexy dance moves that made the fans go wild. He kneed down and started belting the second chorus. His voice never cracked, he was really good. He rapidly stood up and started rapping in Chinese everyone stood up and went crazy. Of course he was going off. He finished with a unique pose and the crowd went insane. He stood in front of the judges table waiting for them to judge. "Let me say this, you are the definition of a new pop star. That was insane!" Carla yelled.

"You really have everything a star has, looks, voice, talent, are we seeing the potential winner of this show?" Grant asked the audience and of course, they went wild.

"Good, really good. You have insane potential man" Thomas gave him a thumbs up. The host returned to the stage,

"wow, Jacks that was amazing. The people really love you. Now go sit back in your seat and watch the rest" he walked to his seat and the host checked him out. He looked at me, then winked at me. I heard Damien scoff. I didn't even look at him because it would be weird.

"Okay let's go with the next performance" Karen said. The screen went fast motion again until it landed on Charlotte Joshua. I think she got two stars, I don't know.

"Charlotte Joshua" the host called her and she went backstage. They set everything and she was ready to perform. A really fast, hyper-pop beat started.

"Come on, let's jump, let's jump, let's jump!" She said really quickly and everyone started jumping. She started singing about cars and partying. It was a party song. The production was so heavy and distorted, it made every part of my body quake. She started singing the chorus and the lights started flashing, insanely. The crowd jumped to the whole song. The energy was wild. She finished her song and the crowd never stopped cheering.

"Thank you!!" She yelled and stood in front of the judges table.

"Wow, I feel like I just drank fifty energy drinks. That was wild, I loved it!" Carla was still in shock after what she saw.

"Your style, the lights, the energy, the production, everything nicely done" Grant said and she gave him a thank you.

"Can I be honest?" Thomas raised his hand.

"Yes?" Charlotte said.

"I didn't like it" the crowd started booing.

"the song didn't have serious lyrics and the production was too distracting" the crowd still booed him and she said,

"you know what Thomas, not all music is the same. If you don't like it, fine. You're just too old to party anyways" she blew a kiss to him and everyone went wild even us. She bowed down and returned to her seat. The host came out and she looked at Thomas and he looked embarrassed. It was hilarious.

"Anyways, let's see who is the next person to sing for us today" She pointed at the screen and it showed our pictures once again and it landed on me.

"Adryan Levithan!" She yelled.
