The Ruins <Part 1>

"A ruin?? Are you sure you want me to go to it? I mean I do not lack the power nor confidence for a low-level ruin, but I feel it is all so sudden and rushed... moreover from what you have taught me, there will be people guarding entry no?

Now as for what a surfaced ruin was, it was simply a fracture in space that leads into an artificial dimension, which contains a ruin filled with treasures of all sorts. Though this treasure was often hoarded by those who were influential, and in power.

Those in the lower class were not let anywhere near the fracture, not to talk of going inside it and entering the ruin! This was because of the potential it held, as it could turn a poor man into a tycoon if fortune favored the said person.

"Clovis, be mindful that surfaced ruins are unknown... they can not be predicted, so of course this would feel sudden and rushed, as we ourselves just came to know one had surfaced."

Mother Aria spoke up trying to somewhat ease my worried mind, pausing briefly before she continued.

"And as for entry, no one owns a surfaced ruin so don't worry about gaining entry, because Naet should be just about enough motivation for them to move aside."

I had of course met Naet, as well as the other soul bounds of everyone else. It was to be expected after living under the same roof for 15 years. So I asked, as that was the last question that demanded an answer.

"When do I leave?"

"You leave at dawn! You can take your swords with you, but do not use them this time unless the need is absolutely warranted, meaning you will be fighting with no weapons other than your fist!"

Father Danelius said as I nodded in acknowledgment.

"It will take a few hours to get there with Naet's speed, so go get ready!"

This time around it was Luana that voiced he thought, gesturing he leaves the room the prepare for his short journey.

"Yes, mother Luana! I will excuse myself now."

***POV Lunvir City***

Upper-Class Zone - Floating Ring.

An older man was speaking to someone else, an adult male based on facial characteristics. The older man looked slightly annoyed, and the younger male was trying to somewhat ease the tension.

"It happened just moments ago, have we still not found the source?!" The older mans' voice was filled with frustration and anger as he said this.

The source in question was Clovis, and the event that leads to this was the flare of aether he had some time ago.

"Father please be calm, as you yourself know that even if we discover it right at the start, we cannot follow it to the source. The seals and Inscriptions used by this "source", are made by ancient Grandmasters and are also ones that have been lost to time."

"If we can find the "source", we would have already done that by now!"

He said, as he too was heavily frustrated at their inability to locate this "source" of aether that was there for the taking but of course, never would they have imagined that this "source" was a human being.

This situation was not only happening in Lunvir but also in several other nearby cities, ranging from members of high-class families and groups to hidden shady organizations.

"That aside, I will be sending my son to the low-level ruin. It should serve as a good experience to increase his overall strength... and even more so, should he have a fortunate encounter in the ruin!"

The younger man said, changing the topic as he didn't like the incompetency any more than the older man did.

"Hmmm... I approve, it will increase his chances of getting into Dawn academy, he will get to also analyze his peers' capabilities... it can only be rewarding in this case!"

Said the older man in approval, as he believed his grandson would only come out bearing fruits in this journey.

"If you will excuse me, I will go tell him to prepare for his departure!"

Saying this the younger man left the room, as he headed in the direction of his son's room to inform him of his immediate departure.

"Sigh... such amazing power, knowing it exists but also out of our reach and sights is truly saddening."

***POV Clovis***

Dawn of the next day.

"Are you ready to leave?"

All five of my parents stood in front of me as Luana asked me, to which I nodded briefly acknowledging that I was ready to depart.

"If that will be it, I will open a gap in the barrier so you may take your leave!"

Father Rol said as he opened a large gap, spreading the barrier just wide enough for Naets' large frame to go through it, and we were off!
