The Ruins <Part 5>

My blood seemed to heat up rapidly in excitement as if I was on a drug. The hair on my skin stood up straight as the lightning danced, all over my body in rhythm. I calmed myself down to subside my excitement, taking a deep breath.

I dashed forward charging directly at the 20-feet wolf, sidestepping a second before colliding with it and sending a kick from beneath its chin. This caused it to be sent tumbling in one direction before it could get a foothold.

The wolf howled in anger as it sent a vine aimed at one of the students, looking at the distance of the vine from where I stood, I thought of removing a seal to deal with this quickly and without casualties.

Thankfully someone reacted in time and made a glacier of Ice, shielding them from the danger of the vines. I looked around for a brief moment trying to find who created the glacier, and once I found her I sent a quick nod at her in appreciation.

To be honest, I had no reason to even be remotely bothered about whether or not they were safe from danger, but I just could not overlook it at the moment as these were innocent lives.

Looking back at the wolf who had been growling in anger after having two of its assaults blocked, I charged at it and the wolf lunged at me. Coating my legs and my arms in lightning, I reappeared above it sending a palm strike to the crown of its head.

The wolf slammed into the ground due to the force and momentum behind the strike. Traces of bruises could now be seen around its body, and its green fur became tainted with red as blood spewed from the bruises and its mouth.

I on the other hand did not stop my assault and wanted to finish this in one go as I was still airborne. I spun my body at a high speed as I coated my right hand with lightning, creating a blade out of lightning as I stepped on the air speeding downwards.

Time seemed to slow down as I felt something was wrong, but I resumed my assault. feeling the space behind me shift, I quickly re-adjusted my slash from a crescent slash to a full circled slash.

The danger I had felt was a thorned vine aiming for my neck, thankfully I was quick enough to react to it without needing to take off a seal and sliced it up. Unfortunately, since I redirected the slash to a circle instead of a crescent, it lost about half of its prowess.

The wolf now had a large gash that went from its left forelimb to the other, that same gash lined up with the entire hall leaving a mark that flowed across the floor, walls, and ceiling. This was far from the initial intention of the move.

I had initially wanted to decapitate it in one fell swoop rendering it obsolete, but the plan had fallen short of its initial expectation. The wolf stood on death's door, as even though it wasn't instantly killed, the gash was a mortal wound for it.

The lightning element behind the slash had also sent currents running rampant in its body, leaving it for dead but of course, it won't go down easy as it howled really loudly before it let out a burst of its core, trying to detonate itself!

I thought to use my ability but was stopped as I heard a voice, and shortly after felt a fluctuation of mana.

"Crystal Confinement"

Clear crystal-like gems shot out of the ground, hastily encasing the wolf. I shot forward to touch the encasement and cast a single spell on it.

"Enhancement"

Enhancement was an omega rank spell that doubles that strengthen anything touched by 300% the normal ability, in this case causing the spell to be three times its normal durability. As it exploded the floor tremored for a brief period before it subsided.

I was relieved that we confined the explosion, but I was still on edge as that howl made the situation infinitely more dangerous. I turned around and looked for the person who cast both spells to thank her and I found her almost instantly as she was right behind me.

The person in question was actually really beautiful now that I had a better look at her, and I had failed to realize as I had not paid attention to detail when previously thanking her.

Knee long purple hair packed in a ponytail, perfect skin, sharp violet-colored eyes that were somewhat bewitching to stare into but seemed to complement her hair, a chiseled face with plump pink lips. A large bust, coupled with wide hips, long legs, and a perfect butt.

I could now see why a lot of the males present were fawning over her, as she was truly a beauty in the eye of any beholder. The time I had taken to look at her appearance in its entirety, was about five seconds before I said to her...

"Thank you for the help..." I wasn't able to finish before I was interrupted.

"No worries, I'm just happy we were able to get this out of the way... I'm Chell Signe by the way." She said with a tone of joy and relief in it... unfortunately I had to break it.

"Call me whatever you will Chell, and please I need everybody to listen to me quickly!!" I said the first part directed at Chell and the rest was for everyone present as the struggle had just begun.

Murmurs arose across the hall as people started talking about different things, including the fact that a low-class had actually demanded the attention of high-class citizens like themselves.

"One second, what exactly is going on? What's happening??" Chell asked, confusion apparent in her tone.

I looked at the people present as I thought inwardly at some of those who were murmuring some things ' Narrow-minded people will meet their demise, due to tunnel-like vision. The very bane of humanity's peace'. After which I announced the news they had all failed to realize.

"This is not over, there are 5 wolves headed here as we speak and we only have about 3 minutes before they get here!!"
