Chapter 6: The Grasp for Control

Lunel seeing that the situation had finally flipped in his odds, managed to get up and run. "Yes, keep distracting him, human." He said to himself before he found himself in a roadblock. Akito stood in front of him with his right arm across his body in the blink of an eye. Lunel watched on as his head slowly fell to the ground, "What just happened?" As he kept on watching Akito's body go up from his eyesight, then a sudden impact with the ground occurred. Lunel's head had been sliced clean off from his body. Realizing the situation, he began to utter to himself in silence. "So, this is it, for the boy who never slows down to think. What a life I have led." Lunel's body became yellow bright then small particles of light exuded from his fallen head and body. The light took a part of him with them as they flew up to the blue sky.

Runel watched as his only child began to vanish from the mortal realm. Sad and angered, he charged Akito, both blades clinging against one another caused Runel to pull back and state, "curse you, bastard. I will kill you." He charged once again. This time Akito moved out of his way, causing him to miss his strike. Though he quickly changed his stance by moving his foot back towards Akito, giving him the leverage he needed, he swung his invisible blade again. Only laying a scratch on Akito's cheek, angered by the situation, Akito slowly raised his massive sword into the sky and once again supercharged it with mana. He then swung it down towards Runel, and a supercharged mana release exploded from the blade, the mana force bearing a shape of a wild beast hurdled down towards Runel.

In that situation, Runel decided to activate his magical powers "zero sign" and then jump out of the way of the mana charge attack as it was weak and slow. "What? Not enough mana charged into that blade?" he questioned the still Akito. To no reply, he became even more agitated, causing him to use one of the special swordsmanship moves created by his bloodline clan.

"Perdu Slash." is a long distant combat movement created by the founder of their clan. While using the "zero sign," the user will take six steps towards the target while supercharging the weapon of choice. In the sixth step, the user will deactivate his ability then force the condensed mana charge into the blade's edge. The user will then swing the sword towards their desired target, and the condensed mana will take any desired shape or form to cut down their opponent and cause a massive explosion.

Nevertheless, his plan quickly came to a halt as Akito glared him straight into the eyes while also pointing both his arms at him. "Gravitational-Tide," he spoke as gravity around Runel began to thickening. Pushing down against him, he barely withstood it but was unable to move. "Damn, this is no good. My efforts are all in vain," he spoke to himself as the gravitational downstream began to wear off slowly. "Zero sign," he enchanted once again while taking shelter behind a tree, there he began to think of a plan. However, before he could form a plan, Akito came creeping up from behind the tree, staring directly at the invisible Runel. He felt as if Akito noticed him in zero sign mode, but that wasn't it, "How can he see me?"

Akito stayed there, listening closely to everything that surrounded him. "He doesn't appear to rely on his eyesight. Then the reports are true, so he does lose awareness. I should have thought of this method beforehand. Perhaps I could have protected my precious son." He said to himself while angered by the sight of Akito's face. He then slowly began to get up, throwing a direct punch into Akito's face sent him hurtling down to the ground some three feet away from himself. Allowing the time to enchant, "emotion overwrite."

"Emotion overwrite" is a magical spell that severs a target of their emotional state, thus making them a blank and emotionless being. During war times and battles, stripping someone of their feelings can lead them to be manipulated easily. "He relies on the emotions around him. He could sense my anger towards him, enabling him to pinpoint my position," he spoke to himself while retaining no feelings of hatred and malice towards Akito. "So, I was only able to sever the hatred towards this man. This will be hard," he spoke to himself in a neutral state.

Runel then began to charge at Akito again, using a magical spell, "Beast fireballs," as three massive fireballs resembling a creature formed atop Runel. He then jumped out of the way, creating more room between him and Akito. Next, he directed the fireballs at him. "I got him," he spoke while excited to watch the results. However, the three fireballs suddenly froze around him, unable to get any closer, they began to wear off. "Gravity shield." is a substantial condensed gravitational barrier that the user can set anywhere he pleased. As Akito surrounded himself with this barrier, he stopped the fireballs from striking him. Standing up, he dusted himself off, and the ability began to wear off.

Another figure was seen behind Akito, assessing the situation. Then, finally, he began to see the difference in power levels.

Runel, the Leader of the Perdu Devil's:

Magic: 1500

Intelligence Class: 155

Combat Class: 900

Physical Class: 1000

Reaction Class: 265

Defense Class: 195

Total Magical Powers: 4,015

Sacred weapons: Middle-tier Blade of Perdus.

Sacred Treasures: Perdu Transfer Crystal.

Knowing the fight is coming to an end, he spoke, "I must report to the General, this instant." Then, the dark figure flew off into the distance.

Exhausted from old age, Runel began to slow down, unable to muster more strength. He watched on as Akito started to walk towards him. Then, he fell to the ground helplessly, "So, this is the end for me too. May we meet again, my beloved family." Said Runel as he watched Akito rising his sword into the now dimmed sky. Supercharging it as he did with Fujel, he smirked and severed Runels head with a fast slice. "So this is the power of the Blue Flame holder, amazing," he said before his soul and body departed the mortal realm. His spirit, along with his son, reached out to Lunel's pregnant wife. "Please, take care of the clan." The two said, then they began to tell their dreams to make the Perdus, the strongest Devil clan ever to exist, entrusting the clan's future to their unborn leader. The two vanished, and Hanel's humming came to a stop. A tear trickled down her face, and her expression changed as she saw the two in the realm of spirits.

While cutting off Runel's head, Akito started to struggle, dropping his blade and holding his head firmly with both hands. He seemed to be in pain, unable to move, he fell onto his knees. "Ahh," he screamed with his lungs full of air. "I can't hold on to myself," Akito said in a dark and empty place. "Who am I?" He questioned himself. At the same time, the real him began to roll on the ground screaming for help. "My head is burning," he shouted, and to his aid came Yui, running. She fell over herself and onto his chest. Listening in to his heartbeats, they seemed irregular. "His heart has no rhythm. It's almost as if it's going to jump out of his chest," she said to herself as she got off his chest blushing.

Akito, stuck in his subconscious, began to struggle, "get me out of here." Finally, he screamed in panic, and a powerful voice met his cries. "Thee shall never escape my grasp. For as long as I exist within your subconscious, I will shatter you, then become you." spoke the mysterious voice. "Who are you? Who am I?" yelled Akito into the vast darkness of his mind, and his question was met by a terrifying response, "I am God. You are nothing but a vessel for my return." All while in the real world, his powers wore off, and the energy surrounding his body vanished.

Yui, unsure of how to act in the situation, called for help from both the boys. Running, the two finally reached the empty park. Seeing Akito in such a state, they hoisted him up to their shoulders and placed him behind a tree. "Water." Said Kazuto with a determined look while questioning Yui. "What happened?" Yui, incapable of thinking due to trauma, replied, "uhh, two Devil's attacked him. He killed them." she said with a blurred look.

"Satoshi, please wash her face off with water too," said Kazuto as he finally got Akito to calm down a bit. "He seems lost in his mind, just like with Fujel. He is unconscious," he informed Satoshi. Then, while filling his lungs up with air, he screamed into Akito's ear. "Akito! Wake up." Surprisingly his voice reached him, creating a path of light for the lost boy. Akito smiled and said, "Kazuto, that's Kauzto." He then started running towards the voice while the mighty roar behind him spoke, "you will fall into my grasp, boy." Slowly regaining his conscious Akito woke up, questioning what happened to Yui and the Devils. He then began to look around. "Kazuto, the Devils, where are they?" He suddenly started crying, "did I kill them?" as he continued to cry, causing all the others to cry along with him. While crying, Kazuto brushed off the question, and when about to speak, his response was cut short by Yui. "You killed them. I saw you. You did." Scared and crying, she began to shiver, but a light touch from Kazuto on her shoulder calmed her down. "How about we go somewhere to settle down?" proposed Kazuto to the two with a soft smile.

At the RegDonalds fast food restaurant, the four sat down, away from the crowd. "Akito, your clothes are stain dirty." Said the still somewhat traumatized Yui. "Yeah, so are yours," replied Akito with a calm tone. After explaining the situation to the boys. Yui and Akito began to cool off. Their anger, hatred, trauma, and fear all began to fade away. While gazing at Akito, Yui said to herself, "how can he act so normal? He just killed two Devils for my sake, is that why Akito feels no regret?" as she smiled, she said to herself, "He saved me, just like when we were kids." Thinking and speaking to herself helped her cope with her situation. Knowing that Akito stood there for her, and protected her, gave her a sense of safety. The four, this time again, promised not to say a word about the situation as they parted ways. "Akito, what are you?" asked the curious Yui while on their walk home. "I do not know," he replied slowly while looking into his palm. "Well, whatever that was back there. It was awesome." she complimented the confused boy. Happy that he received a compliment from a girl, he smiled and said, "Thank you."

Dropping off Yui, the two brothers began to argue. "What the hell were you thinking?" yelled Satoshi in anger. "Nothing, why?" said Akito in a confused manner. "Muddling her into a fight? You could have died back there, Akito." angrily gestured Satoshi. "Well, it's not my fault that those two decided to attack us then." Unable to think of another question, Satoshi calmed down and spoke under his breath, "I'm just glad you're both okay." Those words sent a sentiment needed for the boy's mental state, almost stabilizing him again wholly. Akito yelled, "Okay, it's time to put these abilities to real use." shouted Akito in excitement. Kazuto couldn't wrap his head around the idea, and he blankly spoke, "Say what?" Akito, equipped with the right idea, presented and explained the concept. Unfortunately, though, his excitement got met by a punch to the top of his head. "Ouch," screeched Akito in pain. Then the punch was followed by an angry question, "how will you do that? practice?" Determined, Akito entered through the front door and replied, "you will see."
