The door

Sabrina and Nick looked at the white door and wondered what's beyond and whether they would want to know what's behind that door because to Nick, staying in that room and making love to his lady love for eternity didn't really seem like a bad idea. After all, they wouldn't have to worry about anything going wrong or they wouldn't have the responsibility of saving the world by risking their own lives and suddenly being dead didn't feel 'sad' as the mortal realm likes to portray it.

But Sabrina being her curious self wanted to know what was happening and what could happen and spending the rest of the eternity in that one room seemed kind of boring to her. She already had a train of thoughts going on her mind about the door, about where she was, about life and death, her family and friends in both Earth and Hell, the other Sabrina, and most importantly about how angry she was that Nick just gave his life for her when he had so much more to achieve and explore.

She walked towards the door and was about to open it when Nick pulled her back with a jerk. "Leave my hand Nick!", Sabrina grunted but Nick's hold was firm. " Sabrina Spellman!! I did not die so that you could put yourself in trouble again! Why do you want to know what is beyond that door?! Everything is peaceful here and we must have been put here due to some reason. Why do you want to disrupt the balance?!! ", shouted Nick still holding her hand.

Sabrina then remembered that she was supposed to be angry with him and said," Thanks for reminding me Nicholas Scratch that we needed to talk about you dying and coming here. " " NO ONE ASKED YOU TO DO SO!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!!", Sabrina screamed and pushed Nick away. There was a moment of dead silence before Nick replied," I was thinking about you and only. You are everything to me. You are there on my mind at all times. " He continued in a shaky voice," I .....tho..ught....you...would...be...ha....ppy....to see me..", his voice faded as he was on the verge of crying.

Sabrina wanted to scold him so much more but seeing him in that state, she forgot everything and just went and hugged him. " Nick I am sorry; I did not mean to hurt you but you need to understand your actions and my feelings attached with them". Sabrina then cupped Nick's face within her palms and continued, " Okay, we are gonna talk about this later . First we need to open that door." Nick became alert and once and stopped her, " No Spellman! What if something goes wrong?" (Okay!! Let's leave them to their debate and check what's going on in the mortal realm)

Meanwhile, in Earth , a week had passed since Sabrina's death. ( Timelines are different in both the realms and when you have an eternity to spend in the afterlife, you can't really acknowledge the passage of time).

Back in the Spellman Mortuary, the aunties were trying to cope up with Sabrina's death. They and raised Sabrina since she was a babe and now had lost a part of their soul with Sabrina's demise. Ambrose Spellman had not only lost his cousin but his best friend. He reminisced all the naughty spells they carried out for Sabrina's sake and the fun they had and how he never was bored because of Sabrina, although he was on house arrest at that time. He was ready for confinement once again if it meant Sabrina could be back.

Even Prudence felt the loss although Sabrina was like her Arch-nemesis. She coped up by supporting Ambrose and grieving with him. Auntie Hilda had Dr.Cee to support her. But Auntie Zelda was all alone and over the week she had doused herself in work of the Academy. After whatever happened with Mambo Marie (Mambo Marie reveals her true identity to Zelda; Baron Samedi, vodou loa of the dead, and returns to the Realm of the Dead along with the resurrected people haunting Greendale. Before she goes, she brings Vinegar Tom back to life as a gift for Zelda with the promise that she'll wait for her on the other side), and Sabrina, she had simply shut herself from the world. Only Vinegar Tom could brighten her up a bit before she was reminded of all the events that happened over the last few weeks.

Agatha had also been mourning the whole week, except she mourned for Dorcas who she had killed after going insane, and not long before, the dead rose from their graves, among them was Dorcas, who before returning to the ground, forgave Agatha for killing her and kissed her goodbye, which restored Agatha's sanity. It was kind of surprising how no one had yet noticed that Nick Scratch was not among them .

Baxter High had conducted a small ceremony in memory of one of their own, Sabrina.(They were told she had died in an accident ). Her locker was covered with farewell notes and candles were lit. Her friends, Harvey, Roz, Theo, and Robin were trying to move on in their own ways. Roz had Harvey to support her and she expressed her grief freely at the loss of her best friend and tried to overcome it. Harvey on the other hand felt a lot more than he was letting on. He himself did not understand his pain but he felt a strange hollow inside him and hid it from Roz because he didn't want to trouble or hurt her any more than she already was. Theo and Robin were in a much better space even though they did not stop missing Sabrina for a moment.

All this meant, that the Fright Club was now only a music band since they wouldn't be fighting any monsters without Sabrina. But little did they know that a storm was already on their way, a storm so strong, it would disrupt everyone's lives and change Greendale's fate forever, for the good or the worse.

But right now let's focus back on our lovebirds who we last left debating on whether to open the door or not. Well, it seems a decision has been made, and as usual, Sabrina has won the argument against Nick. They moved towards the door but...(kidding 😝, no more suspense I promise; it's finally time). As soon as they opened the door, they felt a gush of wind pushing them out of the door. Before they could realize it, everything shook around them and the 'sweet hereafter' was swallowed by the ground in front of their eyes. DANG!! That's a lot to take in. They gathered themselves and looked around.

Okay, wait! Wait! .... sorry to interrupt you guys but I can't control it. I can't control my imaginary vision. It is taking me somewhere, somewhere upwards, way above the ground Nick and Sabrina were standing on . I can feel the rain; its the mortal realm but I am still going upwards. Wait, it's so cloudy right now; everything is becoming whiter, I can't look anymore; the glow is too strong; I can now feel something. WHATT!! Its raining pearls...We are in the freaking unholy HEAVEN!!! I can see a throne made of silver and lined with gold and adorned with pearls. Someone is sitting on it ! Its the FALSE GOD!!! He is speaking to an angel, I can see the wings! Let's zoom in and hear their conversation!

"It's time", said the False God. " I did not understand you, Father", said the angel. " Son, ten years ago I had to made a choice. When my Grand-daughter died, I wanted to bring her to heaven considering the ultimate sacrifice she had made saving the world. But thanks to your brother, she was born a witch and a witch can never set foot here . Therefore, I built a special 'heaven-like' room for her in the 'bowels of Inferno', a space, free from the passage of time and the pain of loneliness. I even let her lover reside with her in that room. But even while doing so, I knew that her purpose had not ended and she would return when the time comes. So here it is, after ten years , she is finally ready to step foot in her surroundings and carry out her role." " Now leave me be! I have some affairs to attend to. I will tell you more when the time comes", The False God stood up and vanished in the thin air. ( Wait! Is it only me or are you guys confused aswell? What just happened right now? Who is the grand-daughter and what was with the ten years! And wait , that angel looks so familiar; it's LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR! But how can that be? Lucifer was stripped of his powers and banished to the Mortal Realm by Lilith ! Okay, I think I understand now. That's not Lucifer, that's his twin angel brother, Michael, The Archangel. And since,the False God is Lucifer's father from when he was an angel, technically Sabrina would be his Grand-daughter and because the timelines in different realms vary, one week in earth is equal to ten years in Hell. Now since we are clear, let's get back to Nick and Sabrina .)

Sabrina looked around her. The land was barren with rocks and the sky was red. The atmosphere was ver hot but still it felt like home to Sabrina . That's when she realised they were in HELL! She was still confused as heaven; as to what was happening around her and let's not forget she was completely ignorant of the whole' False God' and 'ten years had passed' scenario. Nick was relieved and scared at the same time; relieved because he had expected something much worse like them falling into limbo and scared because of his memories associated with hell. Nevertheless, they held hands and started walking towards nowhere. But soon they noticed something in front of the, far away but Sabrina could recognize it to be the 'Morningstar Castle' . She was processing so much all at once that the only words that came out of her mouth at that moment were, " Back to square one!"
