Movie Campaign

When they alight the car, my nerve starts to work up again. I can feel my palm sweating. It is like when I met Mr. Xavier for the first time. This is worse. There are so many camera flashing at us, it makes it hard to keep my eyes open. I put up a hand to cover my eyes at the same time Mr. Xavier took my arise hand and place it at the crook of his arm. It calm me down instantly to know I am not alone. Mr. Xavier is right next to me. He whisper in my ears,"Smile, Yuki."

Automatically I followed his instruction and smile following his lead into the event hall. Silence ensue and all heads turned to look at us. I think I will go on a nervous breakdown. I should have asked Linda to replace me tonight but thinking that it won't be the only event I will need to attend with Mr. Xavier I would like to give it a try. Mr. Xavier make a carry on hand sign and the crowd goes into an uproar of discussions. Totally unaware that the conversation is about me.

Mr. Xavier asked if I would like a bite before we go around because once we started we will not be able to stop until we leave. I willingly agree and he went with me. I feel guilty as Mr. Xavier is just sipping from his wine glass while I eat thus I consumed a few small appetisers and tell him that I will get a bite after the event. I took a glass of red wine like he does and we start to go around the event hall greeting the movie producers, director and other investors.

We have achieve our objective with all the press taking hundreds of photos a moment ago. The fact that Mr. Xavier Lee attending the movie campaign means it is an important investment.

Standing in the middle of the hall was a seething Ashley. She was the one who invited Xavier, why does he need to bring a woman with him. A beautiful one at that. Everybody in the hall is talking about her more than Ashley, the main female lead. Who is that bitch?! Ashley has been staying close to the male lead strategically creating gossip for the movie promotion and thought it would aroused curiosity of Xavier but he didn't even spare her a glance. This is infuriating! Ashley mutter to Elaine to find out who is that lady on Xavier arm. She has to know her competitor if she wants to win the prize.

As Ashley saw them coming closer after discussion with the producers, she plastered a smile on her face to greet them,"Hello Xavier, how have you been since we last met? Have you miss me perhaps?"

Xavier has always keep his woman on a leash away from himself. He felt fortunate that he didn't sign the 12 months contract with Ashley considering the fact that she is trying to crawl on him even when nothing has transpired between them. He is totally disgusted with woman who try to climb up in the society through his bed. "Know your place Ashley. Nothing happen, nothing to be missed. I wish both of you great success with this grand production."Xavier gave a nod to Ashley and the male lead before moving on. Short but easy to let people around them to understand that Ashley is trying to seduce but Xavier has reject.

Yuki on the other hand was too busy trying to recall information of all the attendees and attempting to remind Xavier as they approach different people as they move along. She didn't even paid attention to the meaning of the conversation between Ashley and Xavier. She was exhausted by the time Xavier announced that they should go.

The moment they sat in the car, Yuki let go of all the tension built during the event. She also felt that the two glasses of wine is catching up on her.

Xavier was about to ask if she wanted to grab a bite of supper before he send her home and found her asleep. He went close to wake her up but to no avail. She mumbled incoherent things about Mr. so and so and Mrs. so and so while snuggle onto his chest taking it as a pillow. He do not think that Yuki will wake up anytime soon. He will pay more attention now he knows that she is a light weight when it comes to alcohol.

Xavier hold her in place and instructed Daniel to drive them back to his place which is seldom use since he spend most of his time in the office.
