Reality Check

Xavier and Yuki took their leave after dinner. For the first time in her life, Yuki was happy to be kick out of her own home. She was fast asleep by the time they reached the city. Xavier carried her up gently and changed her clothes without waking her up then went back to work.

He got over his anger with the Tang couple when he saw a killing glint across his father's face. He will let his father deal with it, at the very least to kill some boredom since Albert step down from the big chase. As long as his mum didn't interfere and kill the bug in one shot, he can expect some drama during Chinese New Year. His dad enjoy the hunt, the chase, the torture and the killing in the end but his mum found it too distasteful to waste time and normally just kill at one go. Xavier has learnt from both of his parents which make him fear by many. His Dad style is exceptionally useful when used on sensitive and powerful prey like Steven; it took Chris and himself a lot of effort to lure and trap him into his current position.

Xavier resumed his work throughout the night mostly for Lee Group International division in the States, Country X, Country Z and the African continent. They have started to look at power expansion in Europe recently and his conclusion is an exclusive hotel chain. Europe market is saturated between very rich who could do whatever they wanted, the middle class which is squeeze by the government taxes and the poor who are benefitting from the government. Businesses are focusing on survival with low margin due to highly paid manpower, taxes and paying off property rental or mortgage. If they could employed fifty percent of their employees from Asia and purchase their own property at the right time to target exclusive rich market, it will be profitable and they could maintain a long and visible presence in Europe.

Yuki woke up alone on the bed and saw Xavier's side was untouched. She sighed as she discern Xavier is skipping rest again. She can't stop him from working hence she will normally schedule in time for him to get a wink back at the office.

Christine has advised her to get use to it as the group investment are globally everywhere. Albert used to fly to different country everyday until she doesn't know if his call will come day or night due to the different time zone. The group has stabilized over the years but Xavier has his own ambition and wanted his own achievement for his reign. However never fear as the men in the family are extremely loyal and will never stray once they locked on you.

She hinted that I can always used my feminine charm to get my way when I am desperate for the decision to falls in my hands. I do not know what to make of it but I realised I did not married a normal man. Xavier Lee the most powerful businessman in the country is my husband. I don't cowered when I faced him and he doesn't use his authority over me. I guess this kind of make us equal except I do rely on his years of experience in many things professionally and privately. I take that as auspicious even though "Marriage" is still a foreign term to me. Maybe I will really feel being married after the celebration.

Xavier has in fact informed my parents of our marriage the week before and would like their opinion on the celebration. My parents has lived in the same town forever and wouldn't fit into the city therefore Albert and Christine came up with the family home plan as it appear Albert has a green thumb for growing things. I am not sure how that goes and leave them to their own device. We should check in with them again for updates when they return to the main house.

The sound of the dining chair scraping the floor burst my bubbles of thought. Xavier came upstairs before I could go to him. "Morning love, we have to go to Japan today. Can you packed for us for 3 days 2 nights while I go into the office to settle a few things before we go to the airport?"he asked after giving me a peck on my mouth. Then he was gone in a flurry.

I sighed in disappointment as I've planned to asked Xavier to go on a date tomorrow new year's eve. It will be the first we celebrate together and as husband and wife too. We have never really been on a normal date except for the occasion lunch and dinner alone. It would be so memorable to do the New Year countdown with him. Oh well, I guess we have to wait till Lunar New Year to make up for it.

I quickly packed our luggage to be stored behind the car on standby to go to the airport directly from the office later on. As soon as I walk into the office, Hans was catching up with me to brief me on a problem arises with our manufacturing investment in Japan. We have acquired a highly specialised lens manufacturer to cater for the electronics industry which was prominent in Japan but rising fast in South Korea, Taiwan, China, and the United States. The lens manufacturing itself is a small investment but very important component to our other major investment particularly in the States. The plant manager has reported a second batch of production which does not comply to quality testing.

Xavier is flying in himself to formulate immediate contingency solutions to avoid further losses. They do not want to risk a delay that will create a chain reaction that will affect other major investment as well. Hans passed all the files to me and I organised all the previous related memos.

Both Xavier and I was working through our flight to Japan, despite the fact that it was my first time in the business class I didn't have the leisure to enjoy the service. There was a chauffeur on standby upon arrival and we were whisked to the manufacturing plant straight away. We had a briefing with the plant manager and operation team to pinpoint the root cause of failed product.

The order was for a new breakthrough in medical imaging invention in the medical segment and the plant current machinery was unable to produce the ultrasmooth surfaces required to project the lifelike 3D image. Imagine you already have an actual clear snapshot of your child actual face before birth or tumor growth for the doctor to perform more precise operation. We adjourned the meeting to the next day and check-in our hotel room.
