When our normal adolescent lives are destroyed by a sudden war, we are forced to run and question everything we ever took for granted. Underestimating the part we are to play in this battle, how well can we survive the challenges we are about to face?

Jace – The problem is, I also don’t know if it’s the right decision. 


I smiled at how accurately he answered my thoughts. Jace could read my silence like no one else could. 


Me – I guess we’ll figure it out on the field. We could be saving lots of lives. 


At what cost? That was the question. Risking losing our lives, our friends? We were about to take responsibility for more than 500 people. I decided not to answer, and change the topic of conversation to the real reason why I came out here with him. 


Me – So how’d it go with Ryan in training today? 


Jace – I was wondering why you haven't asked yet. 


Me – He lost trust and faith in you, and I think you can understand why. 


Jace – Yes but I’m trying to make it better. Everyone forgave me but him.
