Chapter 4
Manik and Maddy reached Veebha's farmhouse and their close friend, Cabir welcomed them.
"Hey guys nice to see you both here, you guys made it for my girlfriend's birthday party that's really cool, thanks a ton!" he hugged them both.
Cabir was Manik and Maddy's childhood buddy and was in relationship with Veebha from past two years, they were classmates in their architecture course their families were more than happy with their relationship. They were almost engaged.
They all entered the party hall and greeted each other. Manik was lost about bracelet that was safely lying in the back pocket of his trousers. He was thinking about the girl's reaction once she would get to know about her bracelet being lost. It sure looked expensive and somewhat holding some sentimental importance. He was feeling kind of restless "What the hell!! why am I even thinking about that girl, arghh!! come on Manik this is insane!" he stopped himself from getting involved in something so bizarre.
Maddy noticed him and patted on his shoulder "Bro, don't you think you are behaving real weird from the time I have picked you up from that forest area? Did you see any devil ?? OMG my bro, you sure you aren't possessed or something?? "
Manik shrugged and replied in anger "Nay, Maddy, nothing like that lets just wish Veebha, come on."
They gifted her their present and walked towards buffet they had to get back to Mumbai as their parents were travelling abroad early morning. They finished their dinner and started looking for Cabir.
Nandini started getting edgy and nervous as hell she started entering the farmhouse and she remembered that she had to call a mechanic and get her car fixed she called up the mechanic and gave him approximate address and hung up.
She was wearing beautiful purple ethnic long skirt with golden embroidery. She was looking heavenly beautiful with minimal makeup and her trademark jhumkas(earrings)
As soon as she entered Manik and Maddy walked out, something just made them turn to each other but by then a car came in between and they couldn't see each other yet again! Nandini thought "What's happening today. Completely out of world experience in my little normal world. Really strange."
She sighed and rushed towards her friend.
She gave her a tight hug and presented her with beautiful golden watch and kissed her cheeks "Veebhu, my baby wishing you truck loads of happiness on your special day love u loads muahaaaaaa and you look just out of world too beautiful," saying this she hugged her again.
Veebha wasn't angry because she knew her situation and so she kept calm and stared at Nandini "Nandu, you look so gorgeous. I was missing you tons but no worries. We have the whole night to enjoy. Yayy!!". They both laughed.
The party was over by ten in the night and all guests started departing one by one.
Nandini and Veebha settled in Veebha's bedroom and entire night they were gossiping and binge watched movies.
Nandini woke up and decided to leave early as Amms was really fuming over the incident. Nandini always shared everything with Amms be it good or bad. So she had narrated the entire incident, that had made Amms more tensed so she had asked Nandini to start soon and reach by afternoon. So Nandini rushed to bathroom and noticed her bracelet was missing .
She searched entire house but couldn't find it anywhere, tears started rolling down and she almost collapsed on bed ...
Veebha stretched her hands and was trying to open her eyes and noticed Nandu was crying . She suddenly got up and asked "Nandu what happened why are you crying?"
Nandini was choking hard and managed to utter few words
"I ii looooost my Mom's last gift my bracelettttt," she was sobbing uncontrollably.
Veebha also started crying with her
"Why are you crying" asked Nandini, surprised at her friend's behavior.
"You lost it because of me, somehow I am the reason I am really sorry Nandu but I promise I will get you same bracelet."
Nandini chuckled wiping her tears
"Oh dear, don't say that, it was my carelessness please don't blame yourself and don't you dare to get me other one. That bracelet can never be remade nor replaced its only one in this whole universe because mom made it for me on my 10th birthday with her own design. That is the most precious thing in my life if I am lucky enough, I will get it back for sure."
Veebha sighed "Ahh!! ok then lets not talk about it anymore, lets have breakfast and then you make a move this time our driver will accompany you or else Amms will never let you come here again."
Both freshened up and finished their breakfast.
Nandini bid adieu to Veebha's family and started her journey
As soon as she reached the spot where her car had broke down she asked the driver to stop she remembered the spot because of the board that indicated way towards Lonavala and she decided to look for her bracelet in case it had fallen down in that incident she searched for good half an hour but there was no trace of her bracelet. She walked back to her car and was again disappointed.
Nandini reached home without any problem.
Amms was really furious now she scolded Nandini for being careless but later calmed down and hugged Nandini and thanked God that nothing had happened to her and advised her to be more careful henceforth.
Nandini was sitting on her bed thinking about the guy and the tatoo. She took a notepad and pencil and drew the same tatoo which she had seen last night, she took a picture of that tatoo and saved it as most wanted in her phone.
Manik and Maddy were busy discussing about the hiring process and they had shortlisted few names to call for interview they had got ten such names from various B Schools. They called up their HR head Alya and informed her to start with hiring the candidates. She initiated the process by calling each and every candidate one by one.
Nandini too recieved a call.
"Am I talking to Miss. Nandini Murthy ?"
"Yes, I am Nandini. Please tell me how may I help you?"
