I lunged toward him. Canines were bared and seeking blood.
His blood.
He managed to evade his death by a hair and that pissed me off on a new level.
I roared so fiercely that I could feel my ribs shake. With that roar I was staking my claim on everything. On her. On my territory. I wanted him to know who was in charge here.
The only thing on my mind, besides gouging the golden wolf’s eyes out, was Azura. I looked over at her to see her beautiful doe eyes opened wider than usual, probably from the shock, and darting back and forth between me and the intruding gold wolf.
I knew she was probably scared out of her mind, especially after a giant rogue popped up behind her the other day. But how crazy would I be to say: she is so utterly mesmerizing, even in her state of mixed emotions?
