The "Date"

"what?" Hailie asked. She did not see that coming.

Bryan smiled. "will you go out with me strawberry?"

so that was the big secret? Bryan asking her out? Didn't he ignored her for most of the night and then shouted at her?

"What is wrong with you? Is it a bet or something? are you going to change like you did last night? Flirting with me, then shout at me, and ignore me for the rest of the night? What am I? some kind of doll?"

Hailie was furious. She was shouting at him. Bryan sighed. He looked around and saw Walter and Sadie starting to walk toward them. he shook his head, as a sign of everything is fine, and sat next to her. His face was so serious. "look, I'm not playing games with you, you said you wanted to know what is going on, and I said I'll take you somewhere to show you, right?" Hailie nodded, now coming down from her burst of anger. and Bryan continued: "that was all before the "sheriff" daughter situation, which is why I shouldn’t be trusting you now. But in some odd ways, I do. Now don’t ask me why and let me finish."

Hailie closed her mouth and glared at him.

Bryan rolled his eyes and continued: "if you are still interested, which by the look on your face I assume you are, I need to know you more. I saw your power and its uniqueness. But I still don’t know what you can do and what are your limits, and you looked confused last night, so I guess you don’t know either."

Hailie nodded again. She was so deep in her thoughts. Why couldn’t she read Bryan's mind? Why couldn’t she get inside of his mind? How did he even know she looked confused? He didn’t even look at her! And did he said unique…?

"There are others ?!" she shout-whispered. Bryan smiled and nodded. Hailie was shocked. She was still processing everything Bryan just said.

"Why should I be interested?" she asked.

Bryan smirked: "don’t you want to know about the "pink glowing" thing?"

And because of that one sentence, Hailie was telling her father that she was going out with this guy called Bryan.

"What is his last name?"

"Well, I haven’t…, hold on. You are not going to look him up, Dad! we just talked about this!"

"Yes, I am. I need to know who you're dating!"

"This is just this one date! It's really not that important!"

"But I should keep you safe!"

"Dad, thank you, really, but I can take care of myself. Besides, Bryan is an old friend of Walter, and you looked him up in police case's ages ago when he started dating Sadie, and nothing was wrong with him, right?" Hailie shot her last shot. Her father really liked Walter.

Her dad nodded: "Yeah I like that kid."

Hailie smiled and continued: "so then there is nothing to worry about! And again, it's just one date, nothing serious."

Her father was about to say something when they heard a horn outside and Hailie got a text message from Bryan.

She took that as her sign and ran outside shouting: "I will, bye!" to answer her father's " be careful! ".

She got in Bryan's car before her dad could come outside.

"well if I knew you would be this excited for our date, I would have asked sooner," Bryan said with his usual smirk. Hailie was sure by now that his smirk was pretty much carved onto his face.

"Shut up asshat, I just saved you from my dad. From what I saw and heard, you're not a big fan of the police, and I'm sure you don’t want to get questioned by the sheriff himself." Hailie said and arched her eyebrow.

Bryan nodded with a straight face as he was driving on a highway.

There was a comfortable silence between the two. Hailie was enjoying zayn's voice. She was about to tell Bryan his music taste is really good when her phone started ringing. She rolled her eyes when she saw the contact name.

"yes, blondie?"

"TELL ME EVERYTHING!!" Sadie shouted on the phone.

"Jesus Sads, my ears!"

"I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR EARS!"

"harsh. You're hurting my feelings."

"Awww," Sadie paused. then shouted:" Couldn’t care less. Now, Can you shut up and tell me what's going on?"

"that's physically impossible Sads. Nothing is happening really, it's not even a-"

"hey strawberry, we're here. I hope you like Italian food."

Hailie was shocked, Bryan actually brought her to a fancy restaurant? But why? This was supposed to be a coverup, wasn’t it?

"He took you to an Italian restaurant? FANCY!"

She heard Sadie screaming at the phone, but she was too shocked to actually pay attention. Bryan saw her shocked expression, so he took her phone and started talking to Sadie: "Hey Sadie, how are you? How's my old man?" he laughed at something Sadie said. "That’s my duty, but annoy him for me?". He laughed again. "I'll tell her. I think I broke her. Yes, sure I will. What made you think so? Ok. You too. Bye." He had a smile on his face when hung up. Soon his smile turned into a smirk when he looked at Hailie.

" So I really broke you huh? Well, that’s a big achievement, according to Sadie."

" what? NO! why did you take my phone anyways?"

" Well, you seemed to have a short-circuited, I thought might as well help you with that energy drink."

" What? Who? Nah never mind I don’t wanna know. Besides, you don’t have to help me with anything." she paused for a second and continued:" why did you-"

" would you mind if we continue our, lovely, conversation in the restaurant? I don’t wanna lose my reservation my dear strawberry." Bryan said, with a smile- for once!

Hailie got out of the car and mumbled:" so your stupid handsome face can do other things than smirking."

" I heard that." she was startled when she heard Bryan's voice really close to her ear.

" Let's go in, shall we?" Bryan put a supporting hand on her waist and guided her toward the entrance of the restaurant.

Hailie couldn’t do anything other than blushing like a tomato.
