First day

The start of a new school year
I woke up to the sunlight hitting my eyes, my windows were tainted by raindrops from the storm that passed. my phone was on the nightstand, 5:01 the screen illuminated, the school doesn't start until seven. I arose from the comfort of my bed and went to the bathroom, stripping from my pyjamas and turned on the shower. it was quite, just what I needed for a new day, everything that leads up to today had been stressful many thoughts of everything going wrong and shopping for school supplies (the stressful was me being indecisive), although my mother had passed she still found a way to help me, she had already organized all of my papers like birth certificates to report cards, so the transfer wasn't so stressful. I smiled even in her death she still had helped me. I finished my shower and changed my clothes, a simple outfit consisted of lose jeans, a dark blue sweater and white shoes, a basic look for the first day.
I took my bag downstairs and checked the time 5:21, the table had already lined with food such as pancakes, bacon, eggs and rice, a typical breakfast. Luke had already started eating his breakfast with Clair but she was to busy with her notebook.
"Goodmorning Kyle" Rose said as she saw me slowly walk to the dining room
"Goodmorning Ms Rose" I replied and she walked away to the kitchen "Goodmorning Clair, Goodmorning Luke"
"Morning Aure" Luke replied
"Goodmorning honey" Clair chirped as she stopped writing in her notebook
"Where is dad?" I asked as I sat down
"He left an hour ago, he has a meeting today" Clair replied
"Oh Okay" I started to eat my food, everyone went quite occupied with their own business, halfway to our breakfast Clair had to go, so we said our goodbyes and she left the house. Luke had finished eating and brushed his teeth he was just waiting for me now.
"Should we get going?" Luke asked as I entered the dining room after brushing my teeth
"What time is it?"
"5;46, You eat very slow" Luke giggled
"Yeah I know"
"So should we go? my class starts at eight but I know yours start at seven," Luke said
"Yeah" that was my only reply, we strode to the garage, Aran had already started the car. we opened the doors and entered the vehicle. Aran started to drive, the car was silent Luke was typing on his phone and I look through the tinted black windows listening to 1989 by Taylor Swift, the people walking were mostly students going to school, some wore uniforms while some just had everyday outfits. A notification came up

Goodmorning Aure, I was hoping we could see each other on the first period but turns out basketball club had some new things for the new school year, so I might be late

And he didn't reply after that, It was nice that he cared to text me but at the same time he doesn't have to. We had arrived at the school gate after my exchange of messages.
"Have a good day Aure" Luke said as I jumped out of the car
"You to Luke" I replied taking my bad and closing the door
And the car went off, and I started walking. taking my id from my bag I entered the gates with ease from the security guards. they were already a lot of students walking inside, chatting and laughing with their friends, hugging, and some were alone like me. I entered the front doors and went to the second floor where our classroom was situated, Mr Harrison had been nice enough to give me a map of the school and many details of the school so that I wouldn't get lost but I already knew it from my tour by Nathan, I arrived at a room, class 6-a. the door was opened so I took a look inside, there were already about ten people inside, most of them were talking to each other except for two, on was a boy at the back he had black hair, white skin and was the tallest among them. the other was a girl, she had dark skin, and was wearing box braids. I sat down at the second row behind the girl and opened my phone not wanting any attention.
I sat there until a familiar man walked in, Mr Harrison had already told me that he was my teacher so I wasn't so surprised. Everyone sat down at the sight of the man
"Goodmorning everyone I Andrew Harrison but I just go by Mr Harrison or Harrison some of you might already know me but some might not, I am your adviser for this year I hope we can get along," He said looking around from his desk "First order os business, everyone is late so I can't really talk about rules until everyone is here, so we will just wait"
The class continued to bicker and I wanted to use this time to familiarize everyone, three girls were talking to each other, on had blonde hair, and the other two black hair and five other boys just sitting, one had curly hair and the others just had straight hair. it had been five minutes of waiting in silence, the room was almost filled with only two left, one had to be Nathan but I knew that and the other was a mystery just like the rest of the class.
"Ok since we only have to left I will be talking now" Mr Harrison silenced the room "I will hand out your class schedules now" He walked around the room giving a pamphlet to each student then he stooped to me.
"Where is Nathan?" he asked
"He said the basketball club had something up" I replied
"Oh yeah he's in the basketball club, ill just give you two so you can give him one when he gets here" He gave me two and walked off.
After Mr Harrison handed the schedules he explained everything on it such as the teachers, possible activities, etc, his explanation was cut off with a knock on the door, it was Nathan and a girl, Me Harrison motioned them to sit, luckily since no one knew me there was an empty seat next to me which Nathan took with ease and the girl seated with the other three girls who kept talking earlier.
"Hi" Nathan whispered sitting down, weeks before school started we had kept texting and gotten to rekindle our old friendship.
"Hi," I said handing him the pamphlet "You might want to have this"
"Thanks, Aure" He exclaimed
"So does everyone get what I said" Mr Harrison chirped, followed by silence "Good because I have a task for all of you, I know it not cool to have an assignment on the first day but I promise it's easy"
He handed stacks of paper to the first students on the front row and they passed it along, I looked at the task, write a short essay about a life experience.
"Really!" I heard Nathan whispered
"It cant be that hard," I said putting the paper at my bag, he only chuckled
"Excuse me, Mr Harrison, how many paragraphs does it need to be?" the girl behind me asked
"I would say two-three is good but as long as you want, but don't pass me just one because I will throw that away" Mr Harrison's tone changed, "Since its almost eight I will be going now, You can eat a snack if you want"
Mr Harrison walked out with his messenger bag in hand and the class start talking. I didn't pay attention to the ruckus as I thought of a good topic.
"Maybe death or coming back hear after years," I thought to myself
"Hey Aure" Nathan turned to look at me "Do you have an idea for the essay?"
"Yeah I have some"
"Oh well lucky you" He said
"Just write about being late on the first day," I said smirking, over the weeks of texting I had gotten comfortable with Nathan.
"Hey its not my fault, okay, its hard being the captain of the basketball team" He exclaimed
"Then write about that" I replied
"About being the captain?" He asked
"Yah inst becoming one kind of poetic, once you were inspired now you are the inspiration," I said
"You make it sound poetic but it was given to me cause the twelfth graders needed to focus on getting to college"
"Oh" I laughed it off
"But could be a possibility," He said
The next teacher walked in and the day continued, it was just them introducing themselves and giving us any heads up on their classes. but I was mostly shocked by my lab partner Asher Tompson, our science teacher had given us pieces of paper that had our lab partners on them, that was there was of not making it not bias. after our last class, I was seating on a bench while Nathan was eating a sandwich.
"Hey, Nat do you know who Asher Tompson is? he's supposed to be my lab partner" I swallowed his sandwich
"Remember when I texted you, my enemy, in elementary school?"
"OMG is it him?"
"Yes he is Aure," He said sighing "That him" Nathan pointed at the tall boy wearing a light blue t-shirt, sitting on a bench, I rose up and walked towards the man
"Where are you going Aure?!"
"To meet my lab partner of course," I said,
