Chapter 31

"You what?" Helen and Amelia shrieked

"Shhh! Someone might hear us"

Edward sneaked them out of class and into the janitor's closet so he could tell them all that happened in the morning.

"Why would you do that?"

"I don't know. I kind of felt sorry for her"

"Sorry for her?" Helen asked "Have you lost your mind?"

"Gosh Eddy" Amelia face palmed herself "you're so dumb"

"You could have been punished" Helen said "it could have been in your school record. Imagine applying for a job and they see 'a thirteen year old drug addict'. Who's going to employ you?"

"You could have even been suspended" said Amelia "your parents would kill you"

"You could have been expelled" added Helen

"Or taken to jail" said Amelia

"Or beaten" said Helen

"Beaten?" Amelia questioned

"Yeah. No one knows what goes on in Nora's head" Helen said

"Relax. I knew nothing was going to happen to me" said Edward
