Save log 4: A Maid Should be Disciplined with Punishment!
The morning sun rays illuminates the room. I am lying on my bed pretending to sleep while examining the actions of Zefira behind the door.
What the heck is she doing standing there for like 30 minutes?
She left the door. I waited for a while to see if she returns again like before……..she didn't appear.
I still remained asleep. She might return for some reason or another. A shadow came behind the door again. She is back.
'Knock' 'knock' 'knock'
"Ha-hanjiro-sama. It's morning now. Time to wake up."
She has been struggling all this time to say that?! What the heck?
" I tried to wake you up at 7 ‘o'clock in the morning like you asked me to. I was standing here from 6:30 am and trying to peek in your room. I AM TERRIBLY SORRY FOR THAT! I WILL ACCEPT ANY PUNISHMENT FOR MY ACTIONS."
Oh, right. I did tell her to wake me up at 7 am since all no one else said will wake me up. 'sob' Aneca-san and Rudebe used to wake me up. Come to think of it, Emona didn't come tonight to remove my blanket away.
"Hanjiro-sama? Should I come in to wake you up? What am I saying, he can't answer me while he is asleep. I-I will just go inside…"
She is finally coming in then.
"Aa, Zefira-san. What are you doing here in front of Hanjiro's..Hanjiro-sama's room?" sounds like Rubede speaking to Zefira.
"We-well, I just wanted to wake him up. I am not sure if I should go in or not. I never done this duty with my previous master Lord Kernel-sama."
"Hoo, well he always keeps the door unlocked for some reason. You can just go in and wake him up."
I do lock the door! Who the heck opens it up?
"Can you….wake him up for my stead?"
".......no, I am REALLY busy right now and I REALLY need to finish this job. So I WILL be leaving now. Good luck Zefira."
There were footsteps from the other side. Rubede must be leaving. She is furious with me isn't she?
"Hanjiro-sama, I-I am coming in…"
The door creaks as she opens the door. She cautiously looked at the surroundings and approached my bed. Should I just wake up now?
"Han-hanjiro-sama. Wake up. It's 7 o'clock in the morning."
"Huh? Who's there? Oh, it's you Zefira."
"Yes, it's me. Zefira Riverwood. I came to wake you up like you asked me to."
"Good, that's a good job from you. Great work. You can leave now."
"By the way masster, I-I peeked through the door for a while. I am terribly sorry. If-if you want you can punish me…"
"I don't care and don't want to. Please go wake up the others if they are asleep."
"Al-alright. I will be on with it…..don't fall back to sleep again." she said with a dead expression just like before. Slowly, she walked away from the room. This woman is a real trouble for me.
The morning passed with nothing interesting in particular. Everything was just fine and calm. I did my morning walk as usual and ate at the guild with Furara and Lina. Still in the guild lazing around.
"Things are getting boring Hanji. Should we go to the gamble house again?"
"No, anywhere but that place. I had enough for now."
"Then how about we go on a que…."
"I am doing a single quest until my break is over."
Furara sat down with disappointment on her face. But it went away after she started eating her breakfast. And there goes my favorite part of kuckler meat.
"Hanjiro is it? Glad to see you after a while. How has it been?" said Dandold after noticing us while passing by the table.
“Oh, Dan. How have you been?”
“Just as usual, protecting this town from any danger. Hahahahaha! Anyway, are you taking a break after defeating the demon general Celestia?”
“Yeah, he is freaking lazy and all. What did you expect from him?” mocked Lina.
“Hey! Like I said, this is all because of my trauma. I suffered a lot at those times. I want to recover from it.”
“I see. I guess that was pretty much for a newbie who just arrived at this town. You did really impressive back there. You are the rookie hero of Midlofhin.”
“No need to thank me, if you guys didn’t help I couldn’t have done anything.”
“That’s right. We didn’t help you for no reason. You better thank us too.” said Lina chewing on the rice in her mouth.
“I have to leave for now. There is a report of some wradwolf attacking the woodcutters in the Albanian Forest.”
“Oh, good luck then.”
Dandold walked away waving at us and giving us a big smile. His smile is pretty charming.
“Dandold is a very hard-worker. He is always working for the people living in this town. On the other hand you Hanjiro, is a ‘whisper’.” Furara murmured glaring at her food.
“Hey hey hey! What did you say about me? Split it out!”
“I didn’t say anything. No! Not my fried egg! Give it back! Alright! I apologize for calling you a lazy bag of meat.
After finishing our breakfast, we returned to the mansion on a cart. I am having a pretty good time with no work and life risking quest.
“When are you gonna start doing a quest for real?” asked Furara.
“Oh Furara, just give this man a rest. He won’t listen to us no matter what we do. Isn’t that right Hanji?”
“.....yeah, I guess.”
“I wanted to test out my magic.”
Is she for real? What benefit will we get by that if the magic will knock her out after one or two use?
We entered through the metal gate after Furara chanted the ‘password’. While we were walking, I noticed Zefira in my through the window. She disappeared as soon as our eyes met.
“Hey you two? Have seen anyone standing in front of my room’s window?”
They both became confused and searched the area.
“I don’t see anything. Must be your imagination or something. Anyway, I am going to play with Shino, Emona and the others. Are you joining me Furara?”
“Ok, I don’t have anything else to do now.” replied Furara.
“Nice, you just do whatever you like then. Don’t you dare come with us.”
“Huh? Why? I like playing with them too. What’s wrong if I joined?”
“Shino is very upset with ya. She said if she sees you again, she is going to bite the hell out of you. So, don’t think about coming.”
“….ok. Is it about Zefira or something? Goddamn it. I have explained to them how she got here and why. They still are angry with me. Maybe I should just return her to the lord.”
They alread left me behind. What the heck...I guess I will just get back to my room and read the manga until my 100th time.
After giving a glancing at the place where Furara and Lina playing with Shino and other young maids, I head toward my room with a big sigh.
‘Creak’
I opened the door to my room while thinking about how to increase my days of break from quest. When I noticed what was revealed right in front of my, I froze.
Zefira was trying to tie broken strings of my bow. She stopped when she noticed me. She started to tremble and sweat after caught sight of my furious glare at her.
“I-I-I am so-sorry Hanjiro-sama. I-I-I was just tr-try-trying to clean the bow fo-for you and the-then the string broke. I am- I am- I AM TERRIBLY SORRY!”
The string that my little sister Sylfi tied on the bow, is..gone.
“I-I will accept any kind of punishment for this! I am terribly sorry about this!”
I’ve had it enough of her. She wants to be punishment, then be it then. I can see why Lord Karnel wanted to get rid of her.
“Are you really going to punish her? Well it’s fine if you do. A maid should be disciplined by punishment.” Joro asked teleporting on my back from nowhere.
“She broke my bow. My favorite bow. This out of my limit of tolerance.”
“Alright, then. I have a basement filled with punishment equipment. You are free to use them. I use those to teach my maids a lesson……..No, don’t get the wrong idea. I have never done that to any of them except Rubede. Also, I never punishment Shino and other girls.”
That’s a relief then. I thought he teaches them a ‘lesson’ as well. Wait, what did he said about Rubede.
“.......Hanjiro-sama?” Zefira called me out seeing me getting space out.
“Huh? Oh yes, your punishment. Follow me.”
I got out from my room while getting directed by Joro. Zefira was slowly following me along. I am not sure if I am seeing it wrong but, somehow, Zefira seem to look happy about what is going to happen next. She is one dangerous woman I have seen beside Rubede……
