Save Log 25: Here We Are Facing The Devil

The morning sun is bathing the living room with its warm light. The sky was clearer than yesterday and it's less cold. I was sitting on the rocking chair by the window while drinking tea made by Furorem.

"You make some good tea Furorem."

Only a 'hmm' came out from her. I continued to drink my tea. Zefira is helping the others with the flowers. Furorem along with other maids are on a day off from that activity. Furara and Lina said they wanted to go to the market for something. I didn't go with them. Walking is hard.

"Would you like to have more Hanjiro-sama?" asked Sasada, the noisy youngster. Always talks loudly and makes a ruckus in the mansion sometimes. She was carelessly holding the silver teapot.

"Sasada, you are gonna break the pot if you hold like that."

"I won't. Have some faith in my Furorem-nee-san…"

The pot fell from her hands, on my feet. Not only did the pot squashed my feet the hot tea spilt on my feet.

"Ahhhhhh!!! My feet!"

After that, Milona was healing my leg, while Furorem was scolding Sasada for being careless. She kept saying 'I'm sorry' 'I am sorry'.

"Yoho we are back. What heck happened to ya?" Lina entered the room with both hands holding a large bucket of meat while Furara was holding a basket of veggies.

"Allow us to help you." Furorem elbowed Sasada and they took the lots from them. Assad's was having a hard time creating the bucket.

"A long story."

"Jezz, how careless are you drop your tea on your feet like that?"

"I didn't do it."

"I am really sorry for having you get the groceries Lina-sama, Furara-sama." Milona bowed to them.

"It's no worries. We are glad to help."

"Yes, we are glad to help you. Anyway, I will take care of Hanjiro. You can get back to work."

Milona bowed and walked away from the living room to get back to her job. Furara casts heal on my burnt feet. The green light flooded the feet. It was healed a bit my Milona but it was slower. Furara is healing way faster than that. She is an archmage of course.

"What we gonna do now? We been in this house for 3 days." Lina sank on the sofa facing her back at us.

"We are not gonna do any quest for a while. Let's rest a bit more and spend all the money we have for now."

"We spend half of it in the market." said Furara. Still casting the green light.

"Hanjiro! This is urgent." Joro teleported on my left shoulder all of a sudden.

Oh boy, here we go again.

"What is it Joro-san? Is it about that devil thing?" For a while, Joro keeps telling that a devil appeared in the town. He I mean Draken can sense his presence. He checked 10 times already and found nothing.

"Yes, the devil thing. But listen, it is for real this time. Drake says the presence is stronger than before. There is a chance that the de.."

"We looked 10 times already. There is nothing like that. Give up already."

Joro gave me a creepy look. This isn't Joro's eyes.

"You dare tell me to give up human! I am gonna have you regret what you just said." saying that, Joro grabbed my neck with his tiny hands. Yet, it was strong enough to choke me.

"Ahh! Fi-fine. I am so-sorry! Let go! I can't breathe. I can't breathe!"

The hands loosen up, allowing me to breathe again.

"Pfft, you deserved it." laughed Lina.

"Don't make Draken angry again. You might get yourselves killed for that."

I forgot about that devil lives inside that body.

"So you want us to check it out?" Furara asked after finishing the healing process. ('Oh, it's all good and new. Thanks, Furara.' I said rubbing my feet.)

"Yes, I am very sure where the devil is this time. We shouldn't waste a single moment. Let's go."

"Wait, I just had my leg fi.."

'Joro' stared at me with his murderous eyes.

"On second thought, my leg feels fine. So let's just get to it."

The market district was quieter than most days. Few people are doing their everyday shopping. Only a few adventurers are buying their supplies. Some kids were running among the crowds.

"So, where is this devil?"

Joro looked like he was in deep thought or concentrating on something. He was standing on my right shoulder.

"Hmm, a library? Meh, never going to this one."

"I really want to check this one out after I finish with Joro's library."

"This must be a new shop. I had never seen this library before. It was supposed to be a...oh right, a candle shop."

"You are right, I didn't notice this library sign before."

Furara and Lina were talking about the shop in front of them. It looks brand new. The display glasses were neat and clean, you can smell the burnished wood from the door. The signboard above it reads,

~Cel's House of Books~

"This is it! The presence is coming from this shop!"

"Are you stupid or something? Why would a devil want to make a bookstore in a town for no reason?"

"This boy is right. We don't need to go there. Let's look somewhere else." the deep voice came out from Joro.

"But, I can feel it too. It's coming from this library."

"Shut up and leave this place already."

What the heck are they talking about?

"Sorry for intruding." Furara entered the bookstore. Lina was following her along with a bored face.

"Don't go!"

The library has half-empty selves. Many boxes of books are scattered all around the floor. The place was dark, only illuminated by the sun rays entering the room through the glass window.

"Hmm, guests? But the place is still under maintenance." a boring male voice came from the back of the library.

"Listen to me and get the hell out of here." Draken was telling us to leave continuously.

"We are here to check the libra…"

"What amazing luck!" the man came out from the shadows. He was tall and pale. His grey hair was covering his left eye. Despite his hair is grey, he looks young. He is around 30 years old.

"What the heck? This guy must be a prevented nerd."

"I am nothing like that. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Cel Estian the owner of this library." the man introduced himself with a slight bow.
