22 - Trust Again

"But that's okay mom. I'll bring her back whenever she wants to be with you." Lupus spoke for what felt like the first time in a while.

I realised something I never thought I'd see: Lupus also looked like he didn't want to leave. Who would want to leave their parent's presence? No one, not even him. He looked eager to help me but also nervous about something. Something I didn't know, but I was determined to find out.

"We should probably get going then." I broke the silence that was beginning to build up. Lupus got up and stretched out his hand for me to take. I looked into his eyes and saw pure sincerity, I also saw a bit of father in his eyes.

When I got up I looked around and saw that his parents were gone. Those duties they were talking about must be urgent.

"I-"

"I-" We spoke at the same time. I stared at my feet until I heard him chuckle and i joined in.

"You go first." I said when our laughter died down.
