More than a minute of silence passed and it consisted of us looking at each other: at least it he was staring at me but I fixed my gaze on the girl perched on his shoulder. Wesley finally broke the uncomfortable silence by stretching his hand forward for a handshake.
"Hello, Blake. Long time no see."
They shook as Blake smiled warmly in greeting.
"Yeah. It's been so long."
I wished they would keep talking and won't remember me so I could slip inside, unnoticed. Sadly, all gazes turned to me after pleasantries between them had been done. I was left grasping at straws so I immediately took the approach that came to my mind first. The I-don't-recall-dating-you approach.
"Hello, Blake."
I pushed all the cheerfulness I could get into my voice. Without waiting for him to reply, I continued,
"It's been so long. How have you been?"
Call me a sadist but I wanted him to say 'bad, very bad.' Unfortunately, he didn't say it. So, in a split second, I continued my monologue.
