Travelling to West Asia pt.1

Aileen's POV

After all the mess. I once again returned to normal.

Darkness. No light. Quiet. For the first time, I liked this space.

I woke up after my rest. I'm still afraid at my uncle--no, my whole clan to be exact. Not because they did something to show intimidation or anything, it just felt like I did them wrong to drag one member down, I meant my mother and her family.

"Aileen..." a voice echoes in my ear, is that Rachel's voice? I opened my eyes slowly. I guess I was really tired if I can feel how heavy my eyelids.

"W-what's happening?" I ask as I rub my eyes, trying to wake myself up.

"They just left, we're also leaving for a few hours and have Terry to guard you at the time being, you remember my cousin right?"

"Y-yeah, Terry with the boy cut for 4 years back then, haven't seen her in awhile" I responded back. She pats my head and smiles.

"Then we'll be back, she just stopped by a shop a few minutes from here so it won't be long till you'll have someone beside you" Alex opens the door behind them and they both wave good after that. Well, I'll just have to wait few minutes before Terry comes back. I can wait.

I look at the turn the TV on to pass my time.

"5 areas are heavily damage from the last night event where gates from the underworld spawned in various locations. One of these locations, Lune Subdivision has an energy explosion before the event..." Ah, it got in the news, but it seems like they didn't know it was me who had an energy explosion...

The door opens and I hear a lot of rustling.

"Hey Aileen, sorry got me too long to buy all of this" A slightly deep voice echoed through the room. Terry appeared with a smile and sweat on her face, on her hands are 2 plastic bags containing food...snacks maybe.

"Why did you buy this much?" I blurted out as she put the bags on the bed.

"Rachel told me, she said to pack up a ton of snacks for you and me, but the pantry back at the house is lacking so much that I'm forced to just buy the snacks from the convenience store" she explained as she takes a bag of chips and takes a sit.

"Then, why are you in that state? I know about your got-a-demon-grasp-my-leg-and-got-kicked-on-the-guts part, but you should've been fine fending off at least one, I'm sure Alex or even Rachel herself would help you make a capsule for defense" She's really sharp and information just reach her ears. Terry doesn't know that I have a core now--

"Wait..." she jumps up and approaches me.

"I can feel an essence from you, why is that?" She slightly unbuttons my top and look at my chest...oh no.

She sighs and steps back, "I see, well, can't blame why they were so secretive about this" she points at me.

"You're the one who caused the explosion, and I had a gist that it would happen again" she shrugs as if she knows but didn't really believed herself.

"As expected, Rachel put you here because you know me"

"It was probably more like I won't cause a scene unlike our other cousins who are available, its a mess in the house you know" she sits back again and eats the bag of chips.

"Then, if your here, what about the search for your parents?" I clasped my hands together, as if praying that I can say that I know where they are, but I can't.

"That..."

"You have yet to start, right? But since Rachel's gonna be busy, no one's really going to stop you looking for them, though its impossible to get a lead when it literally happened when the above called us" she has a point. First, Rachel seems like she was dragged into something that would separate me from her, second, I can't blame the Gods and Goddesses for my parents' sudden disappearance.

I smiled apologetically as I know I have nothing to do but stay put, "My parents' will be back soon."

Rachel's POV

Right now...I started regretting my decisions in life.

"You know, I sure did agree, both of us did, but I don't remember agreeing to be send to Israel" I said as we stand and slowly approach a private airplane. I did noticed that we were going near the airport, but we started behind it.

"What do you mean? We need to go to Israel, its where Owen is"

"Then have him go here" I said in retaliation. Why do we need to get away just for a measly training? It does cost our life but still!

"Rachel, calm down, but she has a point, we wouldn't have agreed if you said that we would be going to Israel, or was it your plan to keep it that way?" Alex interfered as he steps up. Aunt Celine looks at Uncle Jun then back at us.

"Okay, here's the deal. Our actual destination is Egypt, but we have to get something in Israel and then in Cairo" Well that's a very vague explanation, and she better not believe that we will go 'Oh yes then please do let us accompany you' because I didn't know the woman who the Lu family accepted with open arms is that stupid.

"I can totally read what your thinking Rachel, and what we're picking up is an artifact that we need to go to Anubis' realm called the Yahweh's Key that became the only access to Anubis' Gate in Egypt" She clarified, but what do we need to go to Cairo for?

"What about Cairo?" Alex asked as if reading my mind.

"In Cairo, we'll pick up the scepter of Sakhmet since the person whom She guides can't handle the pressure of guarding it, so we'll pick it up with Sakhmet's permission" I see. I fish out my phone and search for Terry in my contacts, if we're actually going to all those three cities starting today, then it would take us a whole week to come back. For starters, why are we trying to get to the underworld of Egypt territory? It's an isolated underworld space exclusive for those who have ancestors or those who believe to Egypt mythology. It's not very common, but there are still people that die and head there instead of Hades' space or the Christian afterlife. Thinking that way--

"Hey, we know your going to contact your cousin who's with Aileen right now so hurry up and step in" I flinched and ran aboard.

"What the hell are you thinking?" Alex whispered to me as we go past the door.

"I was just wondering why we're going to Anubis' space instead of going to Hades'" I whispered back while putting my phone back in my pocket.

Going to Israel to fetch Yahweh's Key and Uncle Owen, the one who is being Guided by Wepwawet, and the distant relative of Aileen. Next is to go to Cairo to fetch the scepter of Sakhmet, then finally Egypt where the Gates to the underworld of Anubis is located.

"There has been rumors--no, it's better to say that there's someone out there who has already gathered four out of six materials to have all control to the rampaging souls and demons" I started as soon as I sat behind the couple.

"Will you ask why the keys are not on the hands of the owners' of the spaces?" she said without looking at me. I stayed quiet. There's not just one question I want to ask.

"The owners of the keys are also almighty you know, but as they agree to the Guide system, another secret may have been that, if a human were to team up with an Evil God, every single one of us will be held accountable"

"What what?! Isn't that unfair in many ways?!" I yelled in surprise

"That is agreeable, so they said that we will not be held accountable if we stop them before they manage to cause chaos to the Earth's surface" she turns around, I see her eyes through the gaps of the chair.

"But it's not entirely unfair, this is what our ancestors have given to us" ah. The Goddess of Destruction who died due to human's curse, and the God of Peace who gave up on humanity and hesitated to be revive so He went to hiding. I slump in frustration and surrender, but it's not connected to what I'm worried about.

"Last question, will the plan of those people be destroying the curtain that separate those spaces and have the proliferate due to miasma density the moment the gates will be spread?"

"Yes"
