Dr. Lee

The plane landed safely in the city of Israel. Celine, Jun, Alex, and Rachel got down the plane and a car was already parked a few meters just away from the stairs. Celine fished out her phone and immediately texted Owen that they are currently in Israel to speed things up. She isn't actually sure if the time that they painstakingly calculated in the plane is permanent so they have to speed up the process and fetch Owen and the scepter immediately then go to Cairo to access the gates to the Egyptian Underworld.

She takes a glance to her husband and see him looking at her as well and just nod, there really is no way in confirming whether the time is permanent.

Rachel scoots over to the couple and looks at the car, "It's not uncle Owen who's driving the car, right?" she ask with her voice raise due to the barely turned off plane turbulence.

Celine looks at her direction, "No, Owen is busy preparing something in his house so we're going there personally" she replied.

They get in the car and everyone started quiet. Celine and Jun wasn't in the mood to talk about certain stuff for now, the two students had other things in their minds as well. Rachel worries about the fact that they are going to open the curtain to go through, while Alex worries about the miasma contact.

Alex looks over the shotgun seat and the driver seat, then glanced over to the person beside him. He moves his hand closer to her and taps the seat, she looks at him in response.

"We have yet to even perform animal reformation and we're going to the underworld now, aren't you worried?" He asks, Rachel looks at the seat in front of her and kicks it.

"Hey, you heard him right? Are you really just letting us join all this mess without letting us reach animal level?" she ask with a voice of determination.

Celine looks at the mirror and stares at the kids' faces. That's right, reformation is important but they can't spend anymore hours. "We're both mythical levels anyway so we can protect each of you just fine, we can't afford to spend another hour.

There are three levels of reformation. The "Animal" which is to make the animal form of your Guide using your mana. The mythical which is the enhance version of that animal and it requires a ton of mana control. And finally, the "Deity" which is to successfully replicate the form of your Guide that your Guide can use as a way to protect you if made. All of the levels can only be made with extensive mana control and also a huge mana pool from their Guides, basically, not all can make it to the animal so easily, and take note that there are only three people who reached the level of "Deity" and are called officially as half-Gods/Goddesses. Rachel understands that and looks at Alex, "Well, there's your answer" and right away looks at the scenery, we might still die though.

Rachel's POV

Even with reformation, I don't really feel like its still safe for us. Hades didn't even let us know what is the state of the miasma, if its overflowing or cramming or even creating sets of demons that do not respond to any Gods or Goddesses, not even the Hell Demons can control it, but, I can't tell them about it because they have confidence that we'll be fine in a way, I understand Alex's worries as of current but we have no power over adults.

As I look out, I notice ashes were flying around...like really big---

"Celine stop the ca---" I felt a huge shock and in a split second, my eyes watch the scenery changed into concrete coming close.

Aileen's POV

I know I can't do anything. I neither have a mana or aura that I can really call as my own, so why...why am I getting a core scan?!

"Ms. Victor?" my name echoed through my ears as I tried to recollect what is happening.

Rewind 30 minutes ago----

"Hey Terry, how many people out there received their Guide at a late age?"

"You know it yourself that its already a lost cause to hope that you'll receive a Guide pass 16 years old, and note that that was also a very optimistic thought of yours" she said as she handed me a can of soda I asked for earlier, I took it and sighed.

"There's really no way of telling what's happening ourselves, do you really have no idea?" She asks. Well, even if she asks me...I feel like the abyss in my dreams would know, but I..

"I've been dreaming about a door lately"

"That's a good sign, ain't it? Did you opened it?" She sits beside me as she looks interested,

"Well, I can't even hold the handle without being electrocuted or my hands crumbling in that dream" I mumbled. The door opened to reveal the doctor that is in charge of me.

"Well ain't that interesting" he started. We stared in confusion. In reality, I only know of him due to how he is popular of his patient, but he has yet to appear before me due to business reasons, or so the nurses say.

"I'm Dr. Qianyun Lee, you must have known already that I am your doctor, anyway, what I heard seems interesting, can you tell me more?"

"What do you mean 'heard'?" Terry interfered as she held my shoulders and slowly moves me backwards.

"Oh, you see, my Guide is Shunfeng'er, with Him as my Guide also gives me this curse of strong hearing, well, it isn't that of a curse if I can control it, but earlier, it seems Shunfeng'er was interested to you talk and want me to hear it that he unbound my self-made control on my curse" he smiles but I can see the pain behind it as the corner of his mouth twitches. He sighs after and touch both of his ears.

"I usually need a minute to redo the control over my curse, but I'll have you enlighten first about the door if you don't feel comfortable talking about it from your side, okay?" I look at Terry and she looks at me, we both are skeptical but he is a well-known doctor so we can trust him...right?

I look back at the doctor and nod, he smiles in response. "Well then, kids like you may not be familiar of Core rejection and Void interception, well, as what they are called, it is already quite given what they mean"

"Well, I know Core rejection in which the core rejects anyone who is not its owner, but why are you bringing it up?" Terry asks, the doctor shakes his head.

"That is external, we are talking about internal" this sounds complicated.

"You must've cursed your Guide or the Guide cursed the human world to reject coming out, well it's just one of the two" he started writing something on his paper and scanning the others.

"Well, I did an initial research from what the nurses that has been observing you tells me, so I came up with void interception as one of your cases" This terms are only known to specific jobs and don't really share it to the public to avoid the mass discrimination since Voids are termed as parasites.

"Well, this is a confusing case so we have to undergo you to core scan, and I would like you to agree to this level" he shows me a document...a waiver...

"Wait why is she signing a death waiver?!" Terry grabbed the collar of the doctor and the doctor raise two of his hands.

"Calm down, I was hesitant to resort on this as well, but we really have no idea and having a core out of nowhere after an energy rampage is just too rare of a case that naming after her is not enough to suffice it" he explains, Terry looks at me and I nod then she releases him.

"The waiver is actually to guarantee that we can dissect you after confirming that your core is not yet intact to your veins, you'll live if it's not, but we'll stop and tear the waiver if it is already intact on your arteries and all, there's nothing to be afraid of since you'll be under a slumber and we'll also attach a dream monitor on you to access the situation of your dream, so, is that enough explanation for you?" He asks, I look at Terry because she is practically my guardian, just for now.

She thinks and even walks back and forth till she looks at the doctor again, "Can I supervise that operation? I'm from the Goodman clan so I can guarantee my identity in terms of this" she says proudly. Well having a nice clan can also help you have that advantage.

The doctor sighs and just nod and took his radio to alert the nurses. I look at Terry and she smiles at me.

Back to the present time---

Terry gone to the room to know the preparation and to actually supervise it to its nooks that she left me alone to wait. But I am still questioning why I accepted it or why is it a good idea to agree to people dissecting me after this scan confirmation.
