Her Power pt. 2

The child is unconscious, Eris thought as she looks into the soul of Aileen.

"It seems like stress has caused the soul to collapse" Aileen's share is slowly getting devoured by miasma.

Miasma isn't just evil that comes from the nature, it is also the result of constant hatred of self and from others. Aileen is currently scared of herself.

"Lady Eris, I think it is really time for us to return" I am not ignorant against Lady Eris' feelings towards humans and returning. She loathes the idea of assisting humans once again due to their ignorance and their selfish minds, but if this goes on, creation will cease to exist.

"I have considered it already, but I will not return, rather, I have decided to merge with Aileen" I look at her in disbelief.

"You shan't do that, I would have agreed if this soul is clear, but Aileen isn't clear, she is being devoured by miasma and it wouldn't be safe for you to merge--"

"I have finalize my idea, Eris will cease to existence and the new Goddess will be Aileen" I watch her in hesitation and fear. I am just an apprentice who likes the Goddess of destruction. I left Lord Azrael for her even though I am still a novice in technique, even Lord Azrael had said that I would need to train for decades to be able to master black hole. Due to my amature self, Lady Eris will be, once again, one with miasma mixing in.

"Pardon my rudeness for earlier" I have the ability to at least devour most of the miasma that clings on the soul of Aileen, I can at least make sure that Lady Eris won't be tainted too much.

"If you allow me, I would like to try using my technique" I know Lady Eris also views me as incompetent for what I should do, but she neither has the idea of eliminating me nor abandoning me. Even Lord Azrael has complimented her kindness despite being cursed upon. I have to prove myself as the angel apprentice of Azrael, Hemah.

"Let this emotion of discontent go to hell and burn upon command" All I have to hope now is--

Pain struck me within me. As expected. I held my breath and focus on my strength. If I were to release my strength, I would fail once more. I would fail Lady Eris' little expectation once again.

"You have done enough, I can endure this much miasma"

"Excuse my rudeness Goddess but I wish to--" the pain can be comparable to being chewed down by the Fenrisulfr, or being suppressed by the Jormungandr. I am an angel, I can't breakdown but I am receiving consequence.

The miasma is just a finger's size. Hanging by the thread just for a little longer won't be wasteful. Just a small bit and Lady Eris can continue.

"Hemah that is enough!" My technique was put to a halt by Lady Eris. I have made her mad.

"I do not favor the fact that your technique is also using your life force as exchange to prolong this technique, that amount is something I do not have to worry, learn to limit yourself or else the miasma will appear within you" as her words reach me, I have already collapsed. Certainly, I can feel my energy being depleted as seconds run by. The miasma has also reduced into a pint size, indeed, Lady Eris won't be affected by this amount.

Hemah collapsed and rested in the void. Eris stared at Aileen's soul and seem to have a double thoughts. She looks over the pint-sized miasma and touches it, causing the atoms to disintegrate. It is thanks to Hemah that I can do that, a large amount would truly affect us and even I would have no choice but to retreat to the void.

I have truly cursed upon humans. Years and years, I yearned to be human due to their flexible selves. I have lived in a human village for a long time and even nearly fell in love towards a mortal. If not for that day, I would have naively stayed hanging around that village, being hated behind my back and cursing me slowly until I suffer day and night. Truthfully, the prophecy was misinterpreted and I have no fault for the outbreak of the miasma. But humans wished to believe their own interpretations and denied my own claim that I am a Goddess who have come to helped them. Now, I am back to that situation. I can return and end the Gates, but there is an eerie feeling within the Gate I had eliminated back then. I have no knowledge about the fights between other Gods and Goddesses since I have been living under solitude, before.

"I fear that I would be held for too long if I return" surely, Mother Hera will notice my return and pull me back to my rightful position in the cycle that I had fled due to my mitigation back then. But this is surely not the time I have to fear, thanks to my connection towards the underworld, I know that my abilities still have some effect. The miasma above also has multiplied that the Guide system is just a waste of time for the Gods and Goddesses.

"I let you enter within me" Aileen's soul has to rest. She needs energy coming from me after being exposed to it many times. For now, I have to help the humans. Time have change so they will not curse me for some misunderstanding.

The agents of the hospital has finally arrived. Also, I've been on the edge lately as I monitor Aileen's energy. to make sure that she's okay at least, I decided to constantly feel her soul energy but as time goes on, it slowly disappears. The doctors are still helping with those with injury(they checked on her and they said they don't know why she's unconscious but she's okay) and the agents are still checking the building for other Gates and some Demons and rampaging souls. All of those who are safe are enclosed in a territorial expansion to avoid Demon or Rampaging soul attacks, but any of those are currently my problem. Rachel will surely kill me if Aileen's stay would be extended for a whole lot of different reason. Worrying is already a normal reaction for this, but I don't know if ejecting a small amount of my mana into her to energize her soul energy would be a good idea or a very bad one.

A sudden surge of new energy reached my sensors while I was thinking what to do. This is dangerous. The soul energy is equivalent to a God's but it feels bad. The capsule cracked from the overflowing mana, I stood up and look around for a weakness, if we don't come out of this territorial expansion then we'll just have another incident. Every territorial has a weakness even if its strong, but if it's actually strong, the harder it is to find where its weakness is. It might be easier if I can release my mana and use the animal form but there are some lower class here. Crack. The first piece breaks apart and the mana starts to ooze out of the capsule, the black smoke-like mana crawls out slowly. Oh no.

I look around faster. The weakness should be obvious since its the lightest part of the territorial expansion, but considering how this is an agent's territory, it's gonna be a nightmare to find. Crack.

"Anyone saw the weakness of this territory?!" I need to resort in asking instead since the density can now be felt at my feet. Crack. The damage this time is enough to have my head enter the capsule. I have to hurry or else the density will surely cause some poisoning.

"If it's the weakness, then it's here" someone stood up and I just decided to dash there and supported my fist with mana.

"Wait what the hell are you doing?!" I don't have time to explain it to someone who can't feel the density of the mana that's coming out of Aileen's body right now.

The person steps aside right away and the others started to run away to avoid the impact. I can see it, it really is small enough that it makes it impossible to see unless you look around like an archeologist looking for a sign of a buried temple.

Boom. The territorial expansion opens and now I have to carry Aileen away.

"Ahhh!" I was too late. The effects of the mana coming out of Aileen's body is more impactful than what I expected. Those who have contacted her mana had their eyeballs roll up and their skin turns purple, death.

I once again materialize my mana and call out the lioness in hopes that it could carry it to far away. I started to also pull out the people who are infected and bringing them to the far side to where the mana has yet to spread, the space is open as well so I don't have to worry.

"Listen, if anyone knows how to extract foreign mana then extract those who have been infected" I suggested in a loud voice and also run to follow the lioness that is carrying Aileen at its back. What the hell is happening?! I bit my lip in thoughts that this is the first time I see this happening.

Boom. Another explosion and as if someone had struck me at my chest with a hammer, I coughed out air in pain and knelt to the floor in agony. What happened? Did someone attacked my animal? I look up to find out and in hopes that Aileen is alright, but instead, I see her enveloped with the black aura, and as if she isn't Aileen, she looks at me in hostility. Rachel, what situation did you left me with?
