"What is happening, my life is ruined, he came home drunk i can't believe this" I cried my life out.
"Oh Allah why will Abba do such a thing, why will he marry his 16 year old daughter to a drunkard" I kept repeating.
I cried the whole night, thinking and wondering how am gonna stay with a drunkard as my husband.
The next morning i took a shower, wore my clothes and stood by the mirror staring at how dull my face looks like, after a while i left down for breakfast.
I walked down and met Mubarak sitting on the coach.
"Should i talk to him" i asked myself.
"No Tasneem, his looks will let you know if you can talk to him or not" i concluded.
He ignored my gaze and continued pressing his phone.
I walked to the kitchen, fetched milk and made my favourite (sandwich) then went to the dinning and sat there.
After having my breakfast, i walked to the parlor thinking i should just talk to him after all he's my husband and we can't be ignoring each other we got married just yesterday.
Before i could bring out the"hi" Mubarak stood and walked away not wanting to talk or see me.
"I can't tell my parents cause its too early to start complaining, i think i should just continue like this maybe one day he will surely talk to me" I said to myself with tears in my eyes.
After awhile, Mubarak walked down and left without saying a word to me. I stayed home all alone.
Days past by and i haven't spoken to my husband for once since i got married, i finally decided to atleast tell my bestfriend, so i called Batul home.
"Salamualaikum" Batul said as she walked in.
"Wa'alaikumussalam, Batul come in"
"How are you" She added as she sat down.
"Am fine" I replied in a low tone.
"What happened, why is your face looking dull and your looks are not likable, why? Tell me"
"Batul he never said a word to me, he ignores me, he leaves early and comes home all drunk, i don't know what to do, i've been going through this for a month now" I said to Batul crying.
"What kind of life is this" I added.
"Subhanallah Tasneem and you didn't tell me, i thought we are bestfriends, i thought we don't hide things for each other, why did you keep this, did you tell Mami or Adda" She replied angrily.
"I didn't tell anyone and am sorry i kept this, i thought it won't be cool if i tell someone about my married life, that was why"
"But am your bestfriend atleast i will help you out"
"Am sorry, i can't keep it anymore i need your help"
"Ok. You didn't tell Mami and Adda right"
"Yes but am thinking I will after we are done"
"No don't, they won't be happy and it might cause conflict between your parents and his, so we will find a solution"
"Ok then, so what is the solution"
"Have you talked to him before?"
"No i haven't"
"Ok simple, just try talking to him"
"Batul i can't, he ignores me"
"I know, Tasneem he is your husband you can't continue like this just give it a try"
"Ok i will try"
"Promise? "
"Yes promise"
"Thank you for accepting my advice"
"Mention not and alhamdulillah for having you in my life" I smiled and hugged her.
"Thank you" I wispered.
"Toh Tasneem minkam hami dilla (let me be going), bye"
"Ok thanks dear my regards to Ammi and Yumeen, bye" I saw her off.
I waited for hours until Mubarak got home. I walked to him and helped him in cause he was soo drunk.
"You're beautiful girl" he muttered.
"Omg he complimented on my looks, but he's drunk. I need to make him admit it when he's not" I said to myself.
"Thank you" I replied.
"Don't thank me, you deserve that"
I smiled and helped him sit on the coach and i left to my room.
"Batul was right, atleast he said something thou he was drunk sha alhamdulillah”
