"You're so funny" Madison laughed, putting her head on my arm
I took puffs of my cigarette
We were sitting on the bleachers. She insisted on coming here since dance class would soon start

I blasted music on my headphones. I was at the park, sitting alone on the bench
Obviously, who would want to sit next to the beast?
A ball rolled over to me, I picked it just in time for a little boy to come forward
I'm guessing he's the owner. He hesitated a little bit. He looked about four to five years old
I motioned for him to come closer but he stood still
I know what he's scared of; the scar on my eye
"Come on, I won't hurt you"
Slowly he walked towards me
"Hey" I said

"Are you scared of me?"
He nodded

"The- the scar on your eye"
"You don't need to be scared. I'm not a bad guy"
He smiled

"Can I give you an advice?"

"Don't judge people by their appearance; get to know them, alright?"

He grinned widely

I held up my hand and he gave me a high five before running off to play with this friends
"Wow, nice one. You have a way with kids" a girl said sitting beside me

"The way you talked to that kid about judging, you probably changed his life forever"

She looked at me as if I was a specimen she was trying to study

I scoffed

That night I got a call from her. We talked, got to know ourselves better then I found out she was going to be attending our school

"Leslie, Stephanie, Amber, Tiffany and Bella"

She laid her head on my shoulder while I smoked
I caught a glimpse of her exposed thighs. Her cheer leading skirt was hoisted up, exposing her smooth skin
I laughed in my head. I bet she did that on purpose
I couldn't help but admire how her skin shone in the sun. No, I can't think like this
"What are you doing after school?" She asked lifting her head up
"Nothing yet, why?"
"My parents aren't home. How about you come over? Help me study and stuff"
"Um sure"
"Great, I'll text you the address"
"Alright babe"
I continued smoking in silence. She kept trying to make body contact which irked the shit out of me
"Madison!" Amber shouted from the field
"Yeah?"
"Time for practice"
The girls came out from the locker room gradually. I spotted Bella standing next to her clique
"Time for practice" she pouted
"No problem"
I could see Bella looking at us from the corner of her eyes
Traces of envy were all over her face. I liked seeing her this way, it shows she cares even though she acts like she doesn't.
I felt my phone vibrate. I brought it out of my pocket. I had a text from Leslie
Partner: Bella's birthday is tomorrow
Me: How could I forget?
Partner: Meet me in ten minutes at the back of school. I'm not going for practice
Me: alright then
"Promise me you'll come" Madison said
"Of course. Just text me"
She hugged me then went down the steps and onto the field
Bella smiled sweetly at her as she came down
I laughed. This is going to be interesting

Coach Ann wasn't around so we had to organize ourselves
For now we were stretching, getting ready for the main practice
"So" I spoke to Maddy.
I stretched into my middle splits trying to make the conversation seem casual
"What's up?"
"You told Drew you like him yet?"
"No but I will after school"
"Wow that's great"
"I know right. Guess what?"
"What?"
"He's coming over to my house after school today. That's when I'm gonna tell him"
My eyes widened in shock. He's coming over to her house?
"Why not an open place?"
"Too boring. I've been thinking about his lips since the first day I met him"
She moaned softly
"I can taste them already" she closed her eyes.
This is really bad
"I'll tell you how everything went tomorrow, okay?"
I faked a smile
"Yeah sure. I'm so happy for you"
She hugged me
"Thanks for all the support. I haven't known you that long but I can see us being really good friends in the future"
"Yes, I see that too"
