Chapter 49

I was in a state of utter shock

"W-what's going on?"

"You thought it was your boyfriend, didn't you?"

"How do you know about Sharon?"

"I did a background check on him. I know about his house, his family history, his mom and his little sister"

"How.?"

"I have my ways honey. I suggest you cooperate so that nothing bad happens to them"

Oh my God. What have I gotten myself into?

"You pretended to be him to lure me here?"

I know Damien is cunning but I didn't think he was this desperate

"Yes I did. It was the only way"

Gosh, I'm so stupid

"Hello daughter" a voice behind me said

It can't be. I cannot be hearing my mom's voice right now

I turned around hoping it was someone else, not her. To my surprise it was her, looking radiant as ever

"Mom?"

"Yes sweetheart"

"I thought you were kidnapped"

She and Damien laughed loudly

"Let me break it down to you. I've been having an affair with Damien's father"

It all makes sense now. They we're so close at the dinner party

Alexander is Damien's dad's name.

That's why when she asked of his dad during dinner and Steve looked uncomfortable

I also remember the time Eric came home for dinner, the way she asked about him

Even Steve's mood changed like he already knew

"Why would you do that?"

"Love has no explanation. Steve has no ambition. Haven't you wondered why I badly wanted you and Damien to be together?"

I was short of words. I couldn't even open my mouth to say anything at all

It felt like a movie. What kind of mother is this?

"I faked the whole thing" she continued "The plan is to run away and start our own empire with my soon to be husband" she said dreamily

"With some of Steve's money of course" she added

"Leave him out of this. You have enough money to last you a lifetime"

"You can never have enough money"

Tears were running down my face. What a treacherous human being

After all this man has done for you, this is how you repay him

"What do I have to do with all of this?" I asked

She held my hands looking deep into my eyes

"Join us. Together we can make an unbeatable team. Marry Damien, you two could build an eternal legacy"

I suddenly felt sorry for her. She isn't in her right state of mind. She has gone nuts. Her eyes were black with lust and desire, not the sexual type-- the lust for money, wealth and power. This has always been her problem; greed. She wants to be on top of everything not caring about who gets hurt.

I wish someone could pinch me for me to know this isn't a dream. How can someone be so cruel?

Steve hasn't done anything to her yet she wants to betray him like this

"What do you say?" She asked

"I can't do this" I sobbed "please don't let me do this. I can't betray them please"

"No. HELP SOMEONE. HELP!'

I screamed as loudly as I could hoping someone would hear me and help me

Its not the best idea but at least I tried

A funny smell hit my nose. The room began to spin in my eyes

Gerald's P. O. V

"More wine master Gerald?"

I pulled down my sunglasses a little to stare at her butt as she walked away

God, Asian women are so fucking attractive

I was in a Japanese hotel, there was good food, games to play plus some bad ass chicks in this building but that's not what I came for. I came here to see my good friend, James. He relocated here cause he got offered a job due to his technological talent.

We were by the pool side in the hotel, the only difference was I bought it to myself for a whole day. I didn't want anything or anyone to distract this guy

"Anything yet? " I asked

"Hold on"

He kept typing away on his laptop. I wonder how these guys do this stuff

I shifted uncomfortably in my chair. I didn't know it would take so long

The plan is to find my mom's location, take the police there and rescue her

"I see something" he said

"What?"

"I see it and I don't see"

I shook my head

"Asian people fucked your head up"

"You won't understand"

"Explain"

"I can't find your mom because whoever kidnapped her cut off all the connections"

"Meaning?"

"They made it impossible for us to track her down. Its almost as if she doesn't want to be found"

"What do you mean she doesn't want to be found? She was fucking kidnapped for goodness sake"

"I don't know how to break it down to you"

I was getting really frustrated at this point. What is he saying?

"Can't you hack it or something if the connections were disabled"

"It'll be hard Gerald. Really hard"

I groaned.

"Do something. I'll double your pay"

"This isn't about money"

"Then what is it about? "

"Your mom"

God I'm screwed

As if this situation couldn't get any worse, Steve called me

I had a feeling it was bad news. I contemplated whether to pick or not

I decided to pick because it could be something important

"Hello?" I said

"Something terrible has happened!"

Oh no. What could get worse than this?

"What happened?"

"I got a call this afternoon. They've got Bella too"

"What?"

I jumped out of my seat. How the...

"How?"

"I don't know. The man is demanding for a million dollars"

I was angry with the fact that my mom was missing but I'm even more furious at the fact that its Bella. That's my sister, I don't care what she does but nobody hurts her

"I'll call you back dad"

"Alright. Be safe. I can't lose both of you"

"No problem"

He hung up

"James, my sister's been kidnapped too"

His eyes widened in shock

"How did that happen?"

"I don't know. Nobody does"

"Do you think you can track her. No way they could have disabled it in a few hours"

"Great idea"

I gave him all her details plus her phone number and he got to work

I think I should tell one of her friends about this...

I picked up my phone and dialed Leslie's number

Drew's P. O. V

I paced up and down my room trying to reach Bella but it kept going straight to voice mail

I've called her over twenty times now. A call interrupted mine. It was Leslie

"Hi Leslie"

"Hey "

Her voice was breaking like she'd been crying

"What's wrong?"

"Bella's been abducted"
