Lei Jie's Love (II)

If the love was not meant to be,

If the red thread of fate broke off,

It could be a blessing in disguise,

But if it was not, it was destiny and not a choice.

THE YEAR 1904, a century away from the present time.

"I knew you loved someone else, so marriage wouldn't mean that we can love each other even if we don't," Althea blurted. Lei Jie stopped from scrunching his boots and shifted his eyes through hers. Those azure ones to his weren't something he would expect of. His pupils constricted as she lifted up her chin.

"Fang Wang Shu may be of a descendant to us, but she was still alive. You could still love her before it's too late," Althea disclosed. The wind gusted upon them similar to a storm that was coming, and the sound of the waves responded with a melancholy tone. She stared at his bothersome eyes, it was full of befuddlement, similar to someone who doesn't have a choice but to do it.
