Chapter 74

Meanwhile at various places within Arcadia country there were many black robed men with masks hiding their faces. They were hidden in the shadows and we're intently watching mansions carrying different crests.

These mansions were not the mansions within clan headquarters rather were a standalone mansions and their security were lax as most were either mercenaries working for the clan or normal city guards employed by the clan to do an extra shift.

There was however one commonality with respect to these mansions. They were all occupied by the second Prince's allies and aid's direct descendents such as their sons, daughters and some even grandchildren.

This was a plan created by the crown prince inorder to make these allies hold their hands during the fight with his brother. The plan was to take these descendents as hostages and as per the plan these men sent by the crown prince should have already taken them into custody. The wait was torturous to them as they had yet to receive the signal to go ahead with their mission.

Unfortunately they had no idea that their employer i.e the crown prince had already deserted his position as the crown prince. Just as their wait seemed to be neverending all the captains of each squad received a buzz in their talisman.

Separating from their squad each captain listened to the order given by the person transmitting the message through the talisman. During the transmission their face turned pale but was hidden behind their masks. After the transmission each went to their squads and gave only one order "Retreat" making all the members wearing their masks to be confused.

Meanwhile the defeat of the crown prince and the victory of the second prince was spread by the faction members of the second prince and the entire snake palace was buzzing with people from different clans be it members of his own faction as well as former members of Crown Prince's faction giving gifts and extending an alliance with Lux Arcadia. There was no doubt in the minds of these people, the next ruler of Arcadia kingdom would be Lux Arcadia.

The news of his victory spread like a fire in a forest within the capital city and was spread to the other cities and towns as well by many people. The water palace was raided by Lux with his men hoping to obtain large amount of wealth. Despite their victory clear, Lux was under the protection of Faceless as well as his own uncle Luther.

Luther was more interested in seeing the palace of a Rank 3 mage and hoped to obtain some resources which could improve his battle prowess or help him in advancement. Entering into the palace after a long bombardment by multiple Rank 1 mages under Luther's command the palace's defence mechanism broke.

Strolling in Lux saw rich designs, ancient paintings and antiques. After searching for more than 1/2 hour the entire group came up empty. There was no one inside the palace. It was as if the palace was abandoned and apart from worldly treasures such as antiques, paintings etc there was nothing left behind. The palace vault was empty, there were no spell books in the library, wands in the vault, swords, bows and armours in the armoury, gold coins in both private as well as palace vaults.

Lux's countenance was a sight to behold. In rage he threw the desk which was within the office of his brother, breaking the desk into pieces. His uncle had to a certain extent expected such an outcome and was truly impressed with the determination to escape in case of failure and making sure to give none of his true wealth to his enemies in the process while looking at his nephew in disdain at the blatant expression of his emotions.

Knowing that this particular expedition was a failure the group left and made their way to the palace to get the recognition of the king and in process become the crown prince and wait for the addiction of throne.

What was left was a huge process filled with red tape and would most likely take about a year and a half if everything went smoothly.

Within a span of 10 days the news of the defeat of the crown prince and the victory of the second prince was made evident throughout the country. Apart from very close aids of the crown prince the rest did not think for a moment when changing their alliance. The close aids were either killed or the family abandoned their territory and escaped to other countries. Their enemies took this opportunity to take over their businesses and land to expand their interest.

To truly calm this situation would require atleast 3-5 months. Amongst the drastic change in situation the Hall family was right at the top of the list. The warrior faction's head Gabriel Hall who was also the father of Cornelia was imprisoned by his enemy and the person who was considered to be second in command in the warrior faction Jared Hall. This was done almost as soon as he heard of the victory from the second prince catching Gabriel off guard.

Since he had not given a means for Cornelia to contact him as such means for eg; Communication talisman could be used to track the party on the other end he was kept in the dark about the plight his daughter faced during the travel and by the time he had come to know of Crown Prince's defeat, Jared Hall was already knocking on his door.

Since then he was kept in a dark underground cell with very little food to eat and was subject to many humiliations from people who would not dare to look at his face before and his only wife was taken on a separate custody by Jared and judging from his lustful charector and the fervent eyes which he gives everytime he sees his wife, Gabriel could only hope that she killed herself before getting defiled by a filth mongrel like Jared.

Meanwhile these past 10 days the group of merchants were travelling past one city after another and selling good while on the move. During this time apart from guarding the carriage belonging to Alphonse Sean spent the rest of his time training his qi in the morning and taking serum for genetic enhancement in the evening and spending the night training in the systems training ground.

Sean's level in strength, agility and health were raising rapidly. Within this span of 10 days he was already in Level 6 in strength, Level 6 in speed and had taken complete health enhancement which could make his limbs regenerate and bring him back to life so long he wasnt decapitated.

With this set he planned on improving his strength once again this evening. Judging by the speed the carnival was traveling they would reach a medium sized city called Salt lake City which apparently was named since ancient times. Honestly the more Sean travelled the more he found names which were quite similar to the names of places on earth that it started to creep him out. The only possible reason he could give himself was that someone from Earth had previously transmigrated/ reincarnated to this place and that was way before these places were named.

Focusing more on the pressing issues Sean bought the serum for Level 7 Strength from the system and waited for the arrival of the evening. During this time he had also gotten quite close with the members with whom he was guarding the carriage, especially the Asian girl Takeshi Mio.

Over the period of 10 days he was finally able to pry open quite a few info from this quiet girl and according to her she came from a place called Naniwa from a small country called Wakoku. This was also one of the reasons why he believed there to be atleast one reincarnator/transmigrator before. Wakoku was the ancient name of Nihon/Japan and Naniwa was the name of Osaka. Knowing this piqued the interest of Sean making him add the visit of Japan in his future itinerary.
