"Good morning everyone! If I may have your attention."
"Now I know that most people aren't too interested in being here, but if you want to grasp all of your opportunities at this school, you'll want to pay attention."
The whole theater quieted down in an instant. The people here all had their priorities set straight.
The keyword was opportunities.
Even the second years who had heard a similar speech just a while ago, as well as the third years who had heard it a couple of times now, didn't fail to give the speaker their full attention.
Even though only half a year had passed since the last assembly, being students at this university, they knew very well how fast things changed here.
It was one of the characteristics of the top 8 Universities here in the Hé Continent, all of which were known for how fast they developed, being way ahead of their times when it came to matters of education.
It was very much possible that if they, the students, missed a word, they would be a whole step behind those who had heard it all, and that one step could determine their future path at a crossroad.
This was the world of information.
[More detailed explanation on 'Chapter 16: Explanation of the Universities', in the novel "To Live Again, For the First Time!" *wink*]
"Now that everyone has settled down, I'll introduce myself to all the new students."
"I'm Lucas Hayden, a third-year, and your new student council president, and here next to me is Lizzy Hemlock, your vice president."
Lucas, a relatively good-looking man of blond hair and a sunny, approachable, yet earnest disposition took a step back to give way to the woman next to him.
She was a rather petite woman, but her aura was nothing to scoff at, both serious and imposing.
"As the President has already said. I am Lizzy, a fourth-year and I am the Vice President of the student council here at Dong University."
"The student council is mainly in charge of overlooking the creation and progression of all the clubs, organizations, and events that are related to this university."
"This is not only within this institution, but any one of the priorly stated groups or events that are under the name of Dong University."
"Unless you are planning to create a new organization or club, there will be no need for you to contact me nor the President. We are both very busy people."
She immediately shot down the busybodies.
"If you do have such plans, you will first have to go through your Department Heads. Each of which is also a member of the student council."
AKA: THEIR MEATSHIELDS
"After you have received the signatures and approvals of at least 2 out of the 10 department heads we can proceed to discuss funding, locations, dates, and other projects depending on what exactly you are working on."
"Make sure to have at least 5 students willing to work on this with you and know that if after your proposal has been brought to the rest of the student council's attention, if 5 out of the 12 members reject your proposal, you will still fail to proceed to the discussion phase. I recommend you talk to the department heads before you reach out to submit your form."
At this instant, all the department heads standing in the wings of the theater waiting to step on stage all gave Lizzy, the Vice president of the student council a glare.
They all already had a lot of work to do alright!
They really had no time for all of this...
Not to mention they could all tell that Lizzy was saying all this on purpose to save their own asses.
She clearly only cared for the president while ignoring their well-being…〒_〒
What was this difference in treatment? (ಥ_ಥ)
If they went through all the department heads first, then the president and the vice president would probably be left with less than 5% of the total initial intended submissions.
Not to mention all the boring, repetitive, tedious, and straight-up nonsensical proposals would have already been sifted through by them.
What a cunning woman she was.
"And please do feel free to keep in contact with them, I assure you the student council, as well as this university in its entirety, will always welcome innovative and original ideas, used to diversify your college experience, extending past this school as a whole and well into our community."
If glares could kill, the number of stab wounds through Lizzy's small figure wouldn't be numbering in the single digits anymore.
WTF do you mean by feel free to contact them?
The people backstage who were called department heads exchanged knowing glances back and forth until everyone's eyes finally landed on two people in particular.
One male and the other female, they were twins. The brother was around 6-7 cm taller than his sister, both of them possessing unique eyes that shone like dark amethyst when exposed to light, which matched their black hair with a purple sheen.
These were the two who had just become 'volunteers' to speak as representatives for the other heads when it came to this matter.
Even as these people made their small gestures in the back, Lizzy kept talking until Lucas took over.
"Now I know that not everyone has such plans, but the truth of the matter is that we have already had exceedingly excessive numbers of students asking about this topic and so we have gotten to the point where we are better off simply making this announcement while everyone is here."
"I will remind you that it hasn't simply been just one or two businesses, foundations, organizations, and projects that went international with the help of this school."
"With the right network and the right ideas, nothing is out of reach with the right amount of effort and dedication."
Lizzy finished her part making her speech a little imposing, a little encouraging, and a little welcoming, and on the most part informative... *blink* *blink*
"Let's give the Vice President a round of applause!" Lucas smiled brightly, waiting for the clapping to die down.
"And next up we have..." Lucas looked to the side where all the department heads were huddled up.
Next was supposed to be the Literature Department head's turn, whom he would introduce up to the stage, but instead, all he saw was the figure of the two twins.
Giving then a questioning glance, Lucas paused midsentence without making anything awkward by not trailing off.
Amelia shrugged and Author smiled helplessly.
"The Co-heads of the Fine Arts department! Welcome on stage siblings Amelia and Author Excali."
Lucas regained the composure that had been lost to the unexpected change in programs, but it was something easily overlooked by everyone else, especially with how amiable his smile was.
It was then that the two beautiful figures stepped into the spotlight.
The female had long luscious hair, tied back in a ponytail slowly swaying with her every step.
As she walked everyone's eyes moved, following her slow movements.
They could see her fair face that wasn't hidden by a single strand of hair as it was clipped back with various hair clips, making her seem clean and sharp.
Her light smile was just as blindingly bright as her pearly white teeth.
When she looked at the audience, slowly moving her gaze over the new student populous both girls and boys involuntarily blushed.
She was a heartthrob.
Next to her was her twin brother, Author.
His dark hair with a purple sheen that shone especially bright under the spotlight, was tied in a small man bun that made all the girls looking from their seats blush even harder than when Amelia gave them a passing glance.
The ones who had been sitting casually suddenly moved their legs closer, clenching them together.
If Lucas was the warm friendly approachable type, then Author was just scorching hot.
Plain and simple.
At this point, Damien almost wanted to question whether looks were taken into account, or perhaps even made a priority when accepting people into this top university.
With the two of them walking together, the air in the theater became somewhat different.
Their steps were unrushed, like the historical sages who had time bend around them, never having to change their paces for the world, instead of having the world slow down for them.
Suddenly, unknowingly, everyone's breaths slowed down significantly.
The people in the theater didn't realize it, but their breathing had all unwittingly evened out, their breaths becoming deeper with their heart rates slowing down to match the twin's momentum.
