"Ha, wow. I never even read what the skill does, im really getting ahead of myself."

Random Monster Pov

I usually resided in the deeper parts of the forest, but I decided to explore the weaker regions. Looking for any type of fun I could find, I traveled from my normal 9th layer, to the weaker 3rd layer.

Once I reached the fourth layer I was looking around, for anything at all. In fact, I literally couldn't find a single living thing. I gave up on looking for anything in that layer and moved onto the 3rd. The literal second, I even touched the border of the 3rd layer, a huge gust of multiple elements bombarded my senses.

"Ugh! What is this!" The elements were messing with my senses, destroying my brain. I used my mana to block out the pain, and headed towards the source.

I traveled for a good 5 minutes before I saw trails of dead bodies. Human and monster. Once I had reached the source I almost fell on my butt. There were hills of dead bodies, some brand new while some old, laying around a slumped slime.

I watched from a distance trying to figure out what happened. I waited for a little bit and saw a group of Grey Majin's appear.

'Aren't they supposed to be in the 5th layer?' They approached the slime, but before they could even get in the range of the bodies they were stopped by an invisible wall.

'A barrier huh?' I watched them release their attacks upon the barrier to no avail. This went on for hours, until each of them dropped dead. The had used every single bit of their mana trying to break this barrier!

'Is that how these bodies got here? These weaklings!' I got up from my terribly noticeable hiding spot, and approached the slime. Once I was in range of the barrier, I could feel my mana being sucked away from me.

"NO WAY!!" There were only a few ways a monster could steal the Mana and life essence from living things. One was were they were just natural monsters upon monsters, and the other was...

"MANA EXTINCTION!?!?!" Mana extinction happened when something had grown too strong for its own good, reaching the realm of the deities, while having a body that couldn't hold their strength.

Once something was going into Mana Extinction, the only way to stop it would be to kill it and disperse all the left over energy.

Mana Extinction, was named that because of the mass destruction it would cause. Once the state was over, the being would explode releasing the energy to the entire world. Almost every single time, destroying the worlds, sometimes, even the surrounding ones.

The worst part is that the being would continue to absorb more energy until their death, making the explosion more devastating. The natural death time for the creature would be about 5 years after the start.

"It has yet to start absorbing the energy of the 4th layer, so I have confidence this couldn't have been going on for more 2 months." I had now found out why I felt mana destroying my senses when I entered this layer.

"Karo! Get into the 3rd layer right now!! And bring the strongest of the fleet!!" I called for some family reinforcements, because I knew I couldn't handle this on my own. The sheer amount of bodies on the floor told me how strong this slime had been, just for its mana to be enough to kill these many things.

Many even if they do go into Mana Extinction don't have strong enough mana to cause any damage for the first 6 months. But this slime has caused countless deaths, in only 2 or 3.

....

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS LAYER!?!" I heard a loud roar coming from my south, I could easily recognize it as my brother, Karo.

"What did you do to the 3rd layer you dumb*ss!" My brother was a person who....struggled, in the anger management area.

"Listen you Buffoon! This guy is starting a Mana Extinction!"

...

I ended up explaining everything that had happened since I had got there to my brother. As I had finished, and my brother had an understanding, I heard noises coming from the bushes.

"Sir Caizher, we've arrived! What's wrong with this place!?" It was my subordinate's, and my great-great-grandson, Folio, was sitting in the back.

"Pops? Why are we here?" My grandson was a variant, a newly discovered species. he was on the stronger side, so he most likely didn't even feel the pain of the Mana Fluctuations.

"You don't need to know. All I need you guys to do, is launch all of your strongest attacks at this slime." I didn't feel like explaining again. I could even feel my life essence draining bit by bit, even though I stopped the slime from stealing my mana.

Everyone nodded at me, including Karo.

"Now...No holding back!"
