029- Forbidden Magic

Hah!

Hah!

Hah!

Aria was panting heavily after her hard training with her daughter.

'We've been growing steadily, it looks like we should be able to take that slime on now.'

Aria stood up straight and stuck her hand out. A ring on her finger gave a slight shine and a scroll appeared in her hand.

[Superior Element Mastery.]

Time Magic IV

Space Magic VI

Life Magic V

Death Magic IV

'I've advanced pretty far in my masteries and Arcana shouldn't be far behind in the Time Element.'

Aria and Arcana had travelled to the final dungeon after Seiya clobbered them. They had moved all the way from the top floor to the Fifth. Aria had reached a bottle neck in her life before she obtained the Mastery Scroll, but now she had a dramatic advance because of her accomplishments in the Elemental Area.

She had even managed to combine Elements life [Life] and [Time] together to get extraordinary healing skills, even [Life] and [Time] magic for almost instantaneous teleportation as long as she could sense someone's Life essence.

'I should be able to spot that slimes Essence easily, before I could even sense life essence he was already emitting enough for me to feel it.'

'Well I should at least grasp a understanding of where I am, rank wise.'

"Come one Arcana we are leaving." Arcana's whole mindset had changed since the catastrophe and now she was much quieter.

"Mhm."

Arcana nodded her head, following her mother to the orb of the 5th floor, letting them leave.

They appeared hand in hand, in front of a huge crystal pillar.

"Come on honey, we are going to see our skills."

Aria stepped up to the pillar, putting her hand on it and letting her magic flow through it.

Words revealed themselves, allowing Aria to read from it.

'If it wasn't for the boosts from my masteries I'd probably be at the bottom of C Rank.' Aria wasn't very surprised since she had a good feeling she was at least B rank.

'Now, its Arcana's turn. Before, she was at the middle of the E Rank or so.'

"Alright honey, just put your hand here and release some Mana." Aria grabbed her daughters hand, placing it on the Rock.

"Okay." Arcana released some mana, letting the stone pillar absorb it fully. After a few seconds, words appeared just like before.

"D Rank at only 14, your father would be proud."

"I reckon you could take on that slime by yourself now." Said Aria, patting her daughter on the back.

"Then lets go please." Her daughter cut her off almost immediately.

'Well... She really could kill that slime by now...'

"Fine, even if you can't kill him, I'll be there with you." Aria put her hand on her daughters shoulder casting one skill.

[Location]

She could see a green beacon light up in the sky a long ways away to the west.

'He's pretty far.' Looking at the direction of the light, she used another skill immediately.

[Life Detection]

She could feel an ominous Aura rising from the beacon.

'Blegh... Thats definitely him.'

[Instantaneous Movement]

She used another skill, appearing with her daughter in hand, right behind a dragon like man.

'What? This isn't the slime. But from the aura he definitely is. Never mind that...'

"Whoaaa, who did that?" The man, Seiya, turned around facing the two women.

"Seiya! Ha, I know that name it is you!" Aria pointed her finger at Seiya anger and frustration clearly showing. She didn't even bother to read the rest of it, upon seeing the name she got her confirmation and knew who it was immediately.

"And you are....." Seiya looked confused, not seeing this girl a day in his life made him wonder how she knew him.

"Don't play dumb with me, I could sense that Aura from a mile away! Your no match for us now, even my daughter could take you on on her own! Arcana, get revenge for our fallen brethren!" The second her daughter heard her name, she launched herself at the man.

[Earthen Spear!]

A metallic spear appeared in her hand, as she drove it towards Seiya's chest.

Right before the spear could touch him, his body turned purple-ish gold. Creating a gaping whole in his chest, letting the spear pass right through it.

"Huh?"

When the spear had fully passed through, Seiya's chest reformed, locking the spear in place.

"What was that for? I don't even know you."

"SHUT UP!!" Arcana forced the spear upwards, slashing through Seiya's body.

"Ouch!" Arcana could see gold liquids flying through the sky, a huge wound in Seiya chest, oozing with the golden blood.

'How does he just say ouch to almost getting his right side ripped straight off!?!!' Arcana was stunned, she watching as Seiya body repaired itself right before her eyes.

"That wasn't very nice." Arcana's face was violently grabbed, almost crushed under the impact.

''ARGHGHH!!" Arcana could sense the imminent death and was wondering where her mother was to step in.

"UGGHH FINE!!" Arcana took matters into her own hands, not waiting for her mothers help.

She stuck planted her hands on Seiya's arm, casting [Fire Surge] which caused a huge explosion, separating Seiya's forearm and upper arm.

"What's with you and trying to take my body parts away from me." Before the arm could even touch the ground, purple tendrils reached out from Seiya's upper arm, snatching it and reconnecting it to his arm.

"DO YOU NOT FEEL PAIN?!?!!" Arcana dropped to the floor, crawling away from the monstrosity before her.

"Mother told you couldn't even be stronger than a D Rank!"

Arcana could see the pondering face of Seiya, wondering how he could just bust out into a train of thought mid fight.

"We must have had an encounter a while ago then, because I've been SS Rank for a little bit now." Upon hearing the mumbled last part, Aria froze.

'SS Rank?!!??!' Arcana looked back to see her mom chained down, even some covering her mouth. Aria was looking at her daughter with pleading eyes, as if to say 'Run!'.

"MOM!?!?"

"Oopsies, I guess u could say I cast a spell on her, she won't be able to do anything for a while." Seiya said, lifting up his finger and smiling at her.

'Should I use it? Even mom said I shouldn't.' At the moment, Arcana was contemplating whether she would use her most powerful skill. Her mom had told her that unlocking Time magic naturally had given her more benefits than her mother since hers was granted through unnatural ways.

The skills she was planning to use was probably one of the most powerful ones she would ever gain, but it came with consequences.

[Forbidden Magic: Time Reversal!] Arcana's eyes turned gray, visible clocks seen inside them. Everything around her warped, and she was soon standing next to her talking mother.

"Don't play dumb with me, I could sense that Aura from a mile away! Your no match for us now, even my daughter could take you on on her own! Arcana, get revenge for our fallen brethren!" As Arcana heard the familiar words, she looked straight at her mother and spoke quietly.

"We need to leave, right now. If we stay any longer we will both die." She had the most serious look she had ever had on her face. Gripping her moms had so tightly it hurt herself.

"Wha- Okay?" Aria was confused, but seeing the desperation in her daughters eyes, she quickly complied.

[Teleport]

Arcana and her mother teleported multiple times, getting miles away from Seiya. Upon stopping Arcana could feel all of her energy being sapped away. She fell to the ground, holding her head in her hands.

It was a terrible sight to see for Aria, she could see her daughter visibly aging, every part of her body growing and getting skinnier.

When the growing stopped, she looked like a malnourished version of Aria. It seemed like she hadn't eaten anything in years.

"Hey! HEY!" Arcana looked up at her mother, to see tears forming in her eyes as she dropped to the ground and crawled towards her.

"Well at least this is better than both of us dying...."

"Ha...."
