I'm at the training ground, Zee and Den are talking with the others, I say hi to them and they welcome me and let me be part of the discussion, they're talking about the recent incident near the South Gate, a group of bears attacking the villager's farm, killing their cows and sheep. They ask Zee to report it and make a request to Marie, I'm a bit confused about why they don't do it themselves instead they ask Zee to do it. I ask one of the adventurers,
"Why do you guys need to ask Zee to report it and make a request to Marie? Why don't you guys do it yourself?"
He replies,
"If we have money for it, we can. But this incident is at least C or even B Grade quest, the reward for it is above 100 Silver and for the reward money we have to provide it ourselves and we also need to add taxes that go to the guild. That's why we asked Zee to report it and Zee will provide the reward money. If you didn't know, Zee and his party are the richest adventurers in the east. They helped adventurers like us to get money by reporting and providing quests at Gyne. We know their strength, even though they are Tier 1 party, they are the strongest. We respect them for what they did for us, keeping the village safe."
I understand him very well with his statement, I don't know that Zee and his friends are the ones that help Crude village grow, I'm starting to admire them for what they did, and I respect them more than before. We talk about it more, as soon as I get comfortable with them, Zee grabs and throws me to the field. That guy's strength is just.... nevermind. Everyone is laughing at me, well this isn't the first time I have become a laughingstock, life.. is.. so... cruel. Well, it's time for training with Zee, like yesterday I have to run around the field five times with the wooden sword on my waist.
After I finished, surprisingly my body still can move, I guess my body already got used to it. Zee noticed it and gave me another 5, without complaining I did it again. This time I couldn't move my body and rest on the bench, Zee left to Gyne to report the incident that we were talking about. I instantly fell asleep on the bench. I heard a voice calling my name, I felt a hand on my shoulder, I opened my eyes.
I see Vivi is holding sandwiches. I woke up and says,
"Oh hi Vivi, why are you here? Are you alone?"
She replies.
"Hi, yeah I'm here by myself just checking on you and I brought you sandwiches, I know you had a hard training."
I thanked her and we ate the sandwiches together, Den came over and Vivi offered him a sandwich. We are eating on the bench, Vivi asks Den,
"Mister Den, I didn't see Miss Edith in the Church, do you know where she is? I want to learn a specific spell from her."
Den replies,
"Oh, she might be at the Garden, picking some plants for her cigarettes."
Vivi ask again,
"Garden?"
He replies,
"Yeah, a garden far away from Crude. But don't worry, she will be back tomorrow."
Another mystery about them. Vivi nodded and didn't ask any more questions. Zee came back from Gyne and tell the others that he already put the request at Gyne, everyone thanked him and left to check the quest. Vivi confused and asked what it was all about, I told her everything. Vivi cast a spell to remove my fatigue, and she asked me to accompany her to check the scene on the south so she can help the villager that needed help. I agreed and we went to the South gate.
When we arrived, so many adventurers with Tier 2 and Tier 3 classes ready to fight the bears. It's evening. They put torches around the farms. Marie lead the group, the plan is Tier 3 combat classes will fight the bears outside the farm, and the support classes giving them buffs, while the Tier 2 classes are defending the farms, and the Tier 1 classes are not allowed to participate, but allowed to help the villager or adventurer that got hurts and bring them to the Church. I heard the quest is C+ grade, the plus sign means it needs more than 1 party, at least 2 or more parties to do the quest, or you can call it a raid quest.
30 minutes have passed, everyone's ready in their position, we heard a roar, lots of them from the forest. This is it, they are coming. I don't know how many are there. The Tracker hasn't gotten back. A few minutes have passed, the Tracker came back and whispered to Marie, then Marie said out loud that there are 20 of them and they are coming here fast. All the Wizards class are chanting and ready to release the spells, the Bishops are buffing them, and the Tier 3 combat classes.
Vivi and I are sweating from fear and feeling nervous, even though we're not part of the quest but the pressure is real, the atmosphere becomes heavy. The bears are finally here, they run towards the farms, the Wizard releases their spells, hitting them with fire, ice, water, wind, and earth magic. With that much magic power, the bear should be dead but no, they still can get up and run towards the adventurers now. So this is why it's a raid, a single party can't even stand a chance against them. The combat classes start fighting with the bears. A single bear can withstand 3 or 4 Tier 3 adventurers. Crusaders are tanking the bears and Iron Fist class are also holding the bear, Slasher and Assassin are hitting the bears vital parts, and Tracker will be a backup for them if it went wrong, while Joker and Minstrel are duetting, dancing, singing, and playing the Harp, Sitar, and Flute, giving the frontline buffs and removed fatigue from them, as long as they keep playing the melody. Vivi runs to the front buffing and healing the frontline, while I'm helping the wounded adventurer and bring them to the Church.
An hour has passed, everything went as Marie planned, there are only 4 bears left and they were running away, but the Tracker already put Bear's traps near the forest where they came from. They get trapped and they killed them instantly. Everyone screamed with joy, a victory to us, everyone was looting the Bear's fangs, hides, and head to sell. Everyone went back to Gyne, and Marie waited at the desk to give them the rewards. Zee stood beside Marie with his usual smile and whispered in Marie's ear. Marie clears her throat and says,
"All the adventurers that participate on the raid will be given 250 Silver each, those who were at the frontline will be given extra 100 Silver, those who supported the frontline will be given extra 100 Silver as well, those who guarded the farms will be given extra 30 Silver, those who helped the wounded will be given extra 30 Silver!"
Everyone is screaming with joy. All their hard work paid off before they even stop screaming, Zee says,
"To congratulate you all on the success of the raid, I will treat all the foods and drinks here tonight."
Everyone is screaming louder and louder.
