Blueth Mendoza's POV
"Hey, Ms. Val? There's something I want to ask." I said as I was arranging books with Ms. Val.
"What is it Blueth?"
"Well, Rachelle's birthday is coming up, and I was wondering if we can throw her a birthday party. But it needs to be a secret."
"Oh? It's one of my baby's birthday? How come I don't know about it?" Ms. Val asked as she stopped arranging books and looked at me.
Ms. Val and I were sitting on the floor while arranging the books. We've been busy all-day arranging books and placing them on bookshelves. It's gotten pretty busy around here, well, it's always busy with all of the books coming in for proofreading.
"Well, you never ask." "I replied to her question as I kept placing books on the bookshelves.
"That doesn't mean that you won't tell me."
"Well, I told you now. So, can we throw her a birthday party?"
"Of course we can, I don't see why we are not going to give her a birthday party."
"So, can I use your money to buy some supplies for the surprise?"
"Ha! In your dreams kid! You'll be spending out of your paycheck."
"What? But Ms. Val, it's Rachelle's birthday! You have to give her something!"
"I will give her something. I'll give her my affection." Ms. Val said as she let out a laugh. "Plus, I'll give her a gift."
"Well, but you have to at least help me with the expenses for the party."
Ms. Val lets out a sigh as she stood up. "Okay, fine. I'll pay for half of the expenses."
"Really?"
"Uh-huh." Ms. Val then started walking towards another pile of books and started arranging them.
"Yes! Thank you!" I ran up to her and hugged her. What? I can't help myself. I start hugging people when I get too excited or too happy. "I'll start planning now! I'll be in my room!" I said as I start running upstairs towards my room.
"Hey! Aren't you going to help me finish arranging books!?"
"Sorry, Ms. Val! But I need to come up with a plan on how the house will look like for Rachelle's birthday!"
"Oh, that kid. Hey Cathy, can you help me arrange these books. Cathy? Now, where did that cat go to? Cathy!?" Ms. Val kept calling Cathy's name, without knowing that Cathy came with me to my room.
"What's the plan?" Cathy asked as she jumped on my table.
"Okay, here's what we're going to do." I said as I placed down paper and crayons on my bed. I started drawing what kinds of decorations we will be having in the house for Rachelle's birthday.
I drew everything from banners, party hats, balloons, and even the cake. Basically, I drew every birthday decoration I could think of.
"What's this? Why's there a mouse here? Will we kill a mouse and blow them up?"
"What? Cathy. No, those are not mice, they're balloons."
"Balloons? Well, they look like mice to me."
"Well, I'm sorry for not being able to draw, okay? Anyway, is this okay enough?" I asked Cathy as I show her the drawing I made of the house with decorations.
"Well, it's okay, but I feel like something's missing."
"What's that?"
"This." Cathy then dipped her paw on some paint and started stepping on my drawing. I'd be mad at Cathy if she wasn't so gosh darn cute when she started stepping on my drawing.
"Cathy!" I shouted, making Cathy stop stepping on my drawing. Don't worry, I'm not mad, I just acted mad. Cathy stopped stepping on my drawing and she looked at me. Her face was filled with fear that all of her fur started standing up. I remembered something, this was the first time she heard me yell like that.
I giggled as I picked her up and started cuddling her. I didn't care about the paint on her paws. I just wanted to cuddle her really bad because she looked so cute!
"You're not mad?" Cathy asked as she kept receiving my love and affection.
"Nope, how can I get mad at someone so cute and fluffy?" I kept hugging and cuddling Cathy, at a point where she started getting away from my hugs and kisses. Yes, I kiss cats, especially a cat named Cathy. Don't you kiss cats?
"Hi, Blueth."
"Hi, Rachelle."
I stopped rolling on my bed while cuddling Cathy as I realized what happened. "Wait. Rachelle!?" I said and jolted upwards, making Cathy fall on my bed. She landed on her feet, she's fine.
Cathy looked at Rachelle and she knows that she can't speak because it'll freak Rachelle out, plus, if she speaks, Rachelle might start thinking that Ms. Val has powers or something, thus the reason why Cathy can talk.
Cathy looked at me with an expression which says 'Well, that's my cue to leave.' and she started walking out of my room, leaving a trail of her footprint on the wooden floor because of the wet paint on her paws.
"What the? Cathy!!!" I heard Ms. Val yell as she saw the paw prints on the floor. She then started running towards the direction Cathy went.
Rachelle and I both let out a laugh as we heard Ms. Val chase Cathy around the house.
"I like what you did with your shirt." Rachelle said as she pointed at my shirt which now has Cathy's paw prints on it because I cuddled her earlier.
"Oh? This was a plain cyan shirt earlier before Cathy dipped her paws on pink paint." I giggled as I started stretching my shirt, making the paw prints on it spread out. "You like it? I can make Cathy dip her paws on some paint and you can cuddle her."
"I'd love to." Rachelle giggled.
"So, what's up with the sudden visit?" I asked as I looked over at my bed. I thought about hiding the drawing I made for her party but seeing that it's covered in paint, I don't need to hide it.
"Oh right, I came here because I wanted to give you something."
"Give me something?"
"Yup, I found it while I was out looking for items." Rachelle then opened the pouch wrapped around her waist and started looking for something.
"What did you find?"
"It was something I thought you might like. Found it." Rachelle then took out a bracelet from her pouch and hand it over. "Here."
"A bracelet?" I asked as I took it from her.
"Not just an ordinary bracelet. Check this out." Rachelle showed me her wrist and she has the same bracelet on. Wait, are these... Couple... Bracelets...? "They're friendship bracelets. I found them while looking for lost items."
"Oh. Wait, you stole these?" I said as I placed the bracelet on my wrist. "It looks so cute. Does it make me look cute?"
"You're already cute, dude." Rachelle said as she let out a giggle. "And no, I didn't steal them, I bought them in the market. I saw them on display and I thought we'd look cute wearing friendship bracelets."
I think my gay heart just died.
