Sighing I took in the beautiful, orange, and purple picture in front of me. I call it a picture for a reason; the sight was just perfect, in fact, it was too perfect to have it anywhere in a life like mine. My life was nowhere near perfect, sure it had its ups and downs, but it would never be as beautiful as the scene in front of me.
"So, this is where you were?"
I turned around to look at the owner of the voice a tall middle-aged man with striking ice blue eyes, black wavy hair, and tan skin. I saw him out of the corner of my eye smile slightly as I silently turned to look back at the scene before me. He was a loyal friend of my father's and in some ways was like a second father. In some ways, I saw a little bit of my father in his green eyes and smile but that was the only similarities the two had. While one was ready to protect, constantly the other always thought about what he was going to do next. The latter, being Makar. "So, did you find out what you needed to?"
"I did and more." He answered now standing by my side, reminding me of our four-inch difference in height; he being the taller. "But I'm afraid it was not necessary for me to find him, he found us. He's been searching for you for some time and wishes to see you again." His voice became grave and serious, signaling that what he was going to say next was important. "Are you sure you want to see him again after all that has happened?"
"Thank you for your concern Makar but it is not up to me to refuse a request from my father."
"He's deceased Snow. Sure I understand how obligated you feel about wanting to complete your father's dying wish but I'm sure he'd understand if you decided to not do it."
I held up my hand and closed my eyes as everything seemed to still as the sound of an explosion shattered the silence. I took a deep breath as the smell of smoke filled the air and I pictured the home that I had lived in for years going up in flames.
"It's for the best if they found out." He started putting a hand on my shoulder, reassuringly.
"I understand Makar. I don't want to seem rude but we better leave before we'll spotted." I stated, looking down at the figures of my enemy swarming away from the burning scene like cockroaches from light. "I will get revenge, I promise, father. Just like you asked me to."
