Eden McBride has terrible luck with both men and job hunting so she is stuck working in a kids' pizza restaurant after finishing college. The last thing she expected was that her perfect match would be her coworker in the dog mascot costume.

Aubrey looked like she wanted to fight more hearing what Troy said about her but Eden was forced to intervene. She was already completely mortified that her best friend actually slapped the man that broke her heart in public.

"Why not? He broke your heart; he deserved to get hit!" she protested as she struggled to get free from Eden's grasp. She cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled after the two men scrambling to get away. "You stay away from Eden or I'll hit you again!"

Eden facepalmed, not even knowing where to begin to scold her. "Staying away from me won't exactly be a problem since that's what he was already doing in the first place."

"Still," Aubrey said mutinously. "And I won't apologize for slapping him. He deserved it for hurting you like that. What was he even doing here, anyway? I thought he was supposed to be gone already."
