A Chat with Glacia

"Leveling my Main Class will take 2,500 EXP, this would leave me with 1,825 EXP. This is enough to level both my Subclasses if I want, but I could also save it to use for my Main Class again later. I can decide after I allocate my EXP," Astur mutters as she levels her Main Class.

"Part of this should be the stats received from levelling the Main Class and the other is from my Race for increasing my total level, not bad."

If anyone else had heard what she said, they would have instantly flown into a rage and attacked her. Being able to get such high numbers at her current level is something most people can only dream of. Sometimes though, ignorance is truly bliss.

'If I remember correctly, Subclasses don't give any additional stats other than the free stat points handed out at every level, so I can find out the exact number of additional stats my Race and Main Class give with some basic math. Right now, I need 2,750 EXP to level my Alchemist Class again, so it's risen by 10% from before and I want to see if that's consistent with my Subclasses as well, so I'll use the rest of my EXP to raise my Apothecary and Scholar Classes then save the rest for my Main.'

'So divide that in half to get the racial stats per level then subtract the stats I got from levelling my main class by the divided amount from just now and I'll get the Alchemist stats per level… not bad, but there's a clear difference between the stats provided by my Race and Class. What should I do now…

*Vrzz*

Feeling her phone vibrating in her pocket, Astur takes it out to see an incoming call from Glacia. Although she is wondering how her phone even works now, she isn't about to question it since she can still play her gacha games.

"Hey, hey, how's it going? What planet are you on?" Glacia asks immediately after seeing Astur answer her phone.

"... why do you want to know?"

"Isn't it obvious? So I can come to beat you up before anyone else does and before you get too strong for me to handle."

"I'm hanging up."

"Wait, wait! Jeez, you can't take a joke, can you? I was just wondering what you've been up to, so which class did you pick?"

"Jokes are perfectly acceptable, however, I know that some people are definitely dissatisfied with how I became an Infinity Wolf and are just itching to actually try and beat me up."

"Yeah, I spoke with the others and while Zrathno didn't seem to care, the rest were actually pretty upset. Although I get the feeling Ryuuko just wanted to fight regardless and Uncle Klaros didn't particularly like you from the beginning. Also, you should be careful around Sömskar, she doesn't show it, but she's honestly pretty dangerous, in more than one meaning. Anyway, you never answered my question."

"Which one?"

"Yes… ok fine don't tell me your starting planet."

"I picked Alchemist as my Main Class with Apothecary and Scholar is Subclasses. Although I'm regretting my choices now."

"What's wrong? I mean I recall seeing those options and they are all hybrids so they take longer to level and Alchemist was also a Hidden Class which makes it even harder to level up, but shouldn't it be pretty strong to compensate?"

"That's the normal assumption, right? But no, I'm near fucking useless. Without items, I literally can't fight. I have no Skills related to combat that are unrelated to item usage until Alchemist reaches level 5, then I can learn some a Skill to use in combat from one of the many Skill Books I have."

"Wait, I know this is probably what you meant to say when you explained all that, but how many Skill Books do you have?"

"The exact number was 54, why?"

"... cheater. The rest of us only got 3 and we could only use one when we first arrived. Why do you get so many? That's unfair! So how have you spent the last few days? Talk to anyone yet?"

"That was a sudden shift."

"Yeah, well, not like the rest of us can really do anything to grandpa's little girl, so there isn't much point in dwelling on it for long in my eyes."

"I see, well if you really want to know I've spent the past couple of days high in the sky and drained my surroundings of the resources I need to keep making combat items. So I never really got the chance to leave the forest I've been living in."

"Wait, hold up, by high in the sky, do you mean that literally or figuratively as in you were high off drugs?"

"Who the hell do you think I am?"

"You're right, that was a stupid question. But don't you have a rather good resistance to that stuff, what did you use that could cause you to get high for so long?"

"To be perfectly honest, I have no idea, I found a mushroom with some uh, nice effects, and the rest is history."

"Ok, tell me what planet you're on right now. You clearly need someone to watch over you, if not me, then at least find an assistant or even take an apprentice, it doesn't matter, but someone needs to be there to make sure you don't go too crazy whenever you're drunk or high."

"As long as you don't tell the others, I'm on Vopal, but you don't need to come and I don't plan on finding an assistant, I intend to make one."

"Make? Are you talking about a homunculus? Do you even know how, I've heard it's quite difficult?"

"As a matter of fact, I do, I learned about it from the Headmistress of Royal Academy herself back when I was a student. I'll need a lot of materials but once I'm done, I'll have a loyal follower who will do all my chores and go out gathering ingredients in my stead. I'll be able to just sit in my house farming EXP from Synthesis without ever needing to leave again, it's the perfect plan."

"Why do you work so hard for the sake of being a shut-in? If you ever applied that hard-working attitude towards anything else you could make a name for yourself. Isn't this new world the perfect chance for that?"

"I'd rather live a relaxed and lazy life than spend my time running around as a celebrity. And aren't you and the others also shut-ins too?"

"You could say that for Zrathno and Sömskar, but the rest of us would still leave our house as needed, even if that wasn't more than a few times a year. Uncle Klaros had retired, Ryuuko made a living off of the stock market, and I made money from gaming tournaments. You and the other two just lived off the family wealth not doing much. You should at the very least speak with other people, you should be near one of the starting locations for new players, so why not interact with the people there?"

"Yeah, I was going there later anyways, I need more ingredients after all and the forest doesn't provide everything needed to make a homunculus."

"Is that so, then I won't keep you. Talk to ya later."

"C'ya."

Hanging up the call, Astur takes out a piece of paper and begins jotting down the list of ingredients she needs to make a new recipe.

"I need oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, magnesium, soul essence, DNA of the target appearance, and around 60 other supplemental elements. Then I'll also need to provide my soul imprint to make it loyal to me. *Sigh* I've got a lot of stuff to gather, some easier than others. Might as well head over to the town that's supposed to be just beyond the forest, I already said I'd go after all."
