Viewing the PV

Seeing the incoming call from Glacia, Astur is fairly certain that the content of their conversation will be related to the opening of Eternal Universe Online. Getting up from the sofa, albeit reluctantly, Astur tells the other three in the room that she is going to the workshop and to not bother her unless it's something important.

Closing the door of the workshop behind her, Astur answers her phone, "It's been a while since you called me."

"Yeah, well, I've been pretty busy. Unlike a certain wolf that spends most of their time lazing around. But anyway, I'm basically the number two person on the Spirit side of the coexistence faction I told you about before," Glacia says.

"You may be number two, but I'm the head honcho around these parts," Astur says with pride as she takes a seat in a nearby chair.

"Yeah, I've heard. Among the six of us, you're the one with the most fame amongst the players. I don't know how much you check the official forums, but threads related to you are pretty common."

"Hmm… I actually haven't checked the forums for a while now. Since the forums aren't a part of this realm I can't see what they write about me even when they directly use my name, although I can still feel it when they write out my name."

"Uhh, well a large portion of what they write isn't bad…"

"What's the catch?" Astur asks.

"Oh, you want to know?" Glacia asks tauntingly.

"... never mind, it probably isn't anything decent anyway."

"Aw, you're no fun. But yeah, some of the things they say isn't anything decent. Calling you lazy, a NEET, and foulmouthed. Not that they're wrong though. But most of the people saying this are the jelly ones from Ryuuko's or Sömskar's planet, those two hardly have any interaction with the players so they don't get much if any quests that have large and inflated rewards like yours do."

"And you tell me regardless. So what was the actual reason you called? Given the timing, it should be just for some small chat. It should be about the game's release, right?" Astur asks.

"An abrupt change in the subject as usual, but yeah, your right. An official steam will be taking place to showcase a PV and after the PV finishes the game servers are set to be open for all regular players after a Q&A session. That's the official announcement. I wanted to know if you wanted to watch the PV with me? Glacia asks.

"I guess I don't mind, when does it start?"

"In about ten minutes from now."

Yawning, Astur leans back in her chair, "Yeah, but I'll probably be going to sleep pretty soon after it's done. I'm pretty tired after all."

"Why? Ignoring your hobby, don't you only need to sleep like just a few hours a week?" Glacia asks.

"Normally that would be the case, but I spent the whole previous night trying to create a homunculus."

"And? Did you succeed or fail? Glacia asks curiously.

"Strictly speaking, I failed... "

"Well don't be too hard on yourself. Even a genius has their moments of failure. Creating a homunculus isn't an easy thing to do and only a handful have succeeded throughout history," Glacia says, thinking Astur is a little depressed over the failure.

"But I also kinda succeeded," Astur continues.

"I see, well like I said, don be too hard on… wait, what? Explain."

After being pressed to go into more detail, Astur explains what she had been doing to Glacia, from gathering the ingredients to the creation process.

Once she was done listening to the explanation from Astur, Glacia says, "Doesn't the recipe explicitly call for Human DNA, you know, because it's an artificial Human servant, so what made you think using your blood would be a good idea? Well, I guess it doesn't really matter since it kind of worked out in the end. So when are you going to introduce me to your daughter?"

"Not my daughter," Astur says, opening the forums from the System Interface. "But she's definitely not bad. Her abilities are strong, although they're weaker than mine, I'm sure she can make herself known in this grand universe. And while she may not be an unparalleled beauty like myself, my little Ystur is absolutely adorable and very cute," Astur continues as she subconsciously wags her tail back and forth.

Listening to Astur go on about Ystur, Glacia can't help but think, "She denies being her mother, but she certainly acts like a mother bragging about their child. Now that I think about it, when her sister was pregnant she did seem a bit jealous." Intureupting Astur, Glacia says, "I get it, you're a doting tsundere parent. But the PV is starting soon."

Although she tries to dispute Glacia's statement, Astur quickly shuts up once she concludes that she's being ignored and that the PV is about to air.

The PV starts with a view of the starry night sky as a narrator says with a deep voice, "The universe is vast and ever-expanding to new heights. Perhaps we will never fully explore the universe, but that won't stop us from trying."

The video then zooms out displaying six planets, of which Astur assumes to be the six starting planets. "Explore a new life in a new world within this eternally expanding universe." The video then shifts to a clip of Glacia in a conference room, together with a large group of people around a round table, "Raise your status and lead the people to the stars." Then the video shifts to a clip of Ryuuko going over her revenue from her latest business venture, "Build a company and become a galactic trader." Soon after the video shows Zrathno constructing a large machine, "Or perhaps becoming a craftsman is your dream. So long as the materials are available, nothing is out of reach." The PV then moves to a clip of Klaros fighting against several people, "You can be a righteous hero who strives for justice," then the video shifts to a clip of Sömskar silently killing several seemingly unsuspecting individuals, "Or you can be a ruthless assassin who relishes in blood." And finally, being the last of the six to appear, Astur shows up in the PV. But unlike her relatives who seem to be doing something of importance, Astur's clip is just her drinking alcohol with a cigarette in her mouth while playing card games with Elizabeth and Kretea, "And if you really want to, you can spend your time getting drunk and having fun with friends.

Astur quickly becomes upset, seeing how her appearance in the PV feels lacklustre compared to the others. But seeing how the PV is only halfway done, she remains silent, but if she finds the end to be unsatisfactory, she'll want to have a nice peaceful chat with a certain ten tailed Infinity Wolf.

Bringing her focus back to the PV, Astur hears the narrator say, "But as is life, when good things come, so do the bad." The view switches to a scene where Glacia is in a courtroom debate with an elf holding various documents with many slanderous claims towards her, "Be wary of political rivals and factional spies who conspire to drag you down." The scene then switches to Ryuuko losing a bid for a construction project, "Competition drives the market, a business partner one day is your competitor the next." The PV then shows a clip of one of Zrathno's machines malfunctioning and breaking down in a small explosion, "Failure is inevitable when pioneering the fields of the unknown. But a true inventor learns from their failures." The scene then moves to Klaros who is passing by an alley, glancing in as several seemingly well-equipped people beat up a poor fellow, "Even when it's painful for the righteous to watch, sometimes one must watch an injustice pass by if you aren't strong enough." Switching to a scene where Sömskar is surrounded by a dozen rough-looking people in a rundown warehouse, the narrator says, "Be Careful of who you trust in the underworld of society, for backstabbing and betrayal is as common as breathing." Finally, Astur's turn approaches once more, the scene swaps to a familiar sight for Astur, a bird's-eye view of Karthion Valley, where she met with Asterion for the first time and fought with the local armies. Looking down on the valley, the battle can be seen at the point where Astur was walking forward as the narrator says, "And even if you simply wish to enjoy a peaceful and slow life, sometimes you'll need to fight to maintain it," the view then moves down and centres on Astur as she says, "By my will, all shall halt and none shall move," and then fading to black as the screen is filled up with a few bright dots. These few bright dots turn to several dozens then from dozens to hundreds, these dots, no, these stars light the dark background as the narrator says, "Come to this eternal universe and make your mark upon this world. Eternal Universe Online, available now."
