Planning for Plans

Gathered around a table in the hotel suite, Astur, Illsrvati, Kretea, and Ystur begin their discussion.

"So you found them?" Astur asks.

Crossing her arms, Illsrvati says, "Is that really the first thing you ask?"

"Alright, I admit it was a stupid question," Astur takes out one of her Grand Evolution Elixirs, "Go on."

"8th floor in rooms 842 and 843. The two rooms are connected through a door on the inside in each room. I've also got a timetable showing the routine of the cleaning staff for the 8th floor," Illsrvati places a paper on the table.

"What about their habits? Anything on that, like do they leave the room for food or get some form of delivery?" Kretea asks.

"I'll need more time to find this out. I was only looking for them previously. Even so, I only took this job an hour ago, there hasn't been enough time to observe such details," Illsrvati says.

"Then what are they doing now, I'm sure you left some spiders around to keep an eye out?" Astur asks.

"Trying to repair their optical camouflage equipment. They also have some kind of device that changes their appearance. I'm not sure about the details behind it, whether it's an illusion or a method to change their facial structure."

"Someone tell me what time it is," Astur says.

"6:40," Ystur says.

"Have they eaten yet?" Astur turns to Illsrvati.

"Not from what I can tell. I'm having my spiders move around the room but they can only do so much without being discovered. But at the very least, it doesn't smell like there is any fresh food. I saw their refrigerator and it doesn't seem to have anything other than alcohol and juice in it, but the angle wasn't very good so I wasn't able to see everything."

"What's the general situation of their room like," Astur asks.

"Not too bad, but it is a little messy. The mess is likely a result of them not letting the cleaning staff in. Other than that it's not too bad. They take care of their trash and leave the trash bags in front of their door for the cleaning staff to take during their rounds. Overall, it's relatively clean, but it will probably get worse if they stay here for too long. There are also a few weapons lying around that room.

"What about security cameras or another surveillance tool used by the hotel?" Kretea asks.

"The hotel naturally has security cameras in the hallway. For privacy reasons, there aren't any in the guest rooms, but I believe you've already figured that one out."

"Then we wait. According to the timetable here, the evening cleaning will finish at 7, so it won't be long until then. If they are going to get food, it will likely be then, when there are fewer people around. If they leave the room for food we will ambush them. But if they get delivery, we'll take knock the unfortunate delivery man and pose as them to deliver the food to them and catch them then. Their strength should be roughly the same as what's his name again… Jojo from the sewers, right?" Astur asks.

"His name was Joseph," Kretea says.

"Yeah, that dude."

"The strength of the others are as you assume, roughly the same strength as Joseph. But this does not include whatever strange gadgets they may have. But for people of your strength, I don't believe there will be a problem in subduing them," Illsrvati says.

"But what the security cameras? How are we going to deal with those? If a delivery guy does come, won't the cameras catch us knocking them out? And even if they don't get delivery, the robbers probably won't leave the hotel and find something to eat here, so the cameras will still catch us," Ystur says.

"Don't ask me, I dunno how to deal with stuff like that," Astur turns to Kretea.

"Why are you looking at me like I know how to deal with things like security cameras?" Kretea says as she and Astur turn their eyes towards Illsrvati.

"The best I can do for you is block the cameras with a thick web or large spider. But such an act would be obvious to the hotel's security team that something is happening and someone would be sent to fix it," Illsrvati says.

"What if we just took the food from the delivery man in the lobby on the ground floor and brought it up ourselves?" Kretea asks.

"But what if they get room service or give explicit instructions to an outside delivery to come up to the room? Not that your idea won't work, but it requires that neither of these situations occurs," Astur says.

"What if we blocked off a single camera and did the deed under that one camera's sight?" Ystur suggests.

Illsrvati shakes her head, "That won't work, there are at least two cameras covering the same hallway… wait, actually there is an area on each floor where there is only a single camera covering it. Right by the elevator on each floor, there is only a single camera covering the waiting area. The problem with this camera is that it's a large camera so I won't be able to assist you in covering it up with a single spider, even with a larger variant," Illsrvati.

"What if you use a bunch of small spiders to make it look like they're all newborns escaping from their eggs?" Astur asks.

"That might be a possibility, but if we want to make it believable then there will probably need to be a few open spaces on the camera. And these blind spots in our cover will need to move," Illsrvati says.

"Not a problem, just arrange them away from the elevator and it will be fine. By the way, do these cameras record sound?" Astur asks.

"From what I know, the models used in this hotel are capable of recording sound. But I'm unclear as to whether or not the function is used or is ignored to save some extra space when stored. Oh, hold on, the robbers are discussing food. From their conversation, it seems like there arguing about where to get delivery from. They can't seem to decide between getting Lithro-style noodles or Seapal-style seafood. Either way, from the conversation, it seems they'll be getting delivery."

Astur taps on the table, "Here's the plan I just thought up…"
