The Summoner

Through the fields.

Splat-splat-splat!

Slither...

Slither...

A cloud zoomed across the light blue empty sky, following Aria as she ran through the fields of wheat.

Snakes in all directions, plummeting to the earth below, their poisonous fangs following to their deaths. Aria ran round and round, her exhaustion eventually leading to a corner. The snakes piling atop one another, destroying the fields in their wake.

Aria had nowhere to go but straight.

She mumbled to herself, "I can't believe I'd meet another Witch so soon. Plus she's a Summoner Witch, one of the most annoying Witches. They like to hide back and let their summons fight for them. But it looks like she can only summon lesser animals and not demonic monsters, or even straight-up demons. So this shouldn't be that hard. I'll just have to deal with that cloud..."

She kept running. The cloud started to pick up speed.

"I guess it's now or never!"

She quickly did a full one-eighty. The snakes coming close. She pointed into the sky, right at the cloud.

"You may be from a strong family. But I'm from a family of Gravity Witches." She snapped her fingers, "now get flat bitch!"

Gravity Spell: [Reversed Pull x10]

Poof!

The cloud snapped. It's wavey white fluff exploding into blood, one after the other, each snake turning flat as paper.

"Huf Huf Huf Huf!"

Aira fell back exhausted. She took off her black-gloved hand. She looked at her fingernails, her non-existent fingernails.

"Damn, that was the last one. I'm all out of fingernails now. That's a whole two months until they grow back. What a fuckin pain!" she screamed out, her hands starting to bleed. "I shouldn't have waisted my nails on Damon, such a waste. But at least I still have my toenails and hair to use just in case."

She touched her black hair.

"Yeah never mind, I like my hair," she mumbled to herself while slowly falling back in exhaustion.

---

Damon walked down the stairs, he passed by the healing Robert and exited to the front porch.

The dusty dirt road, the blood-soaked ground. Snakes piled one on top of the other. A rhino, a woman. He looked at the pile of snakes again. He looked at the footprints leading into the fields. At the woman standing next to the rhino. Back and forth.

The car, the kids, the woman, the rhino, the woman... The woman... The snakes... Her skin, its dark red edges, as it started to peel, layer by layer, the blood burning deep and veiny. Her pores seeping, crushing, bleeding. She started to sizzle, to turn dark, her skin crisp, pealing off one by one, each layer flake by flake, in agonizing pain.

But she just stood there, taking it all in, knowing that the skin would heal back eventually.

She looked at Damon, his suit, "you... Why are you wearing my husband's suit?"

"Uhhh...?"

He was lost for words. This confusing situation didn't make a lick of sense to him.

Why was there a rhino? Where did the snakes come from? Who this bleeding woman and where did Aria go?

Step... Step... Creak...

He turned around, a man standing behind him, his forehead bleeding.

"You..."

Tilda's smile grew wide, "snookums! Your alive!"

"Of course I am... But this man... The woman... We have to get rid of them quickly."

"I'm already on it, snookums. They know about the Immortal Horses. They are after your secrets. We can't let them live."

"I know... But how did they figure out where we live... Unless... Marcus..."

Robert looked at Damon, his left hand in his pocket and his right carrying a shotgun. They stood opposite each other on either end of the poarch.

Robert stepped up. Damon held out his shotgun, ready to take his shot-

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

"Oh... Shi-"

The rhino stormed at him, blazing into the porch side, wood flying everywhere.

Smash!

Damon was hit directly, his body sent flying over the porch railing and onto the bloodied sandy dirt.

Tilda held out her pointer finger. Her darkened skin turning grey, deathly, her eyes turning more and more into a demonic red, her blood vessels popping.

"Honey don't go too overboard. You don't want to ruin your body," said Robert concerned for his wife as he walked up to the half knocked out Damon.

"Don't worry snookums, my skin will grow back! Just do the thing!" she screamed out, her finger pointed at Damon.

Damon sat up. He looked around for the shotgun. His suit covered in snake blood, his hands scratched up. He stood up. His hands now in his suit pockets. He looked at the woman, at the man, the finger pointed out at him. He just stood there. His long black tie contrasting against his white undershirt. His blonde hair sitting softly against his pearly blue eyes. He stood still. Not fighting back. His face in the sunlight.

He took in a deep breath.

"Do it..." he said.

He felt himself get grabbed from behind. His arms wrapped up and constrained by Robert. He was held down, unable to move, unable to escape.

"Now Honey!" called out Robert.

Snap!

Tilda snapped her fingers.

Her skin started to bleed horribly, peeling entirely off, turning her into a sore mush of black and red. Bruises and blood. Gushing gushing.

Summoning Spell: [Toad]

Poof!

A cloud appeared above Damon and Robert. The same cloud that the snakes were summoned from. Except this time it was something larger than snakes, larger than a rhino, larger than any animal Damon had ever seen before.

She summoned a toad the size of a house.

It fell...

Damon looked up surprised and amazed, "wait no one told me you can summon giant frogs like in Narut-"

Smash!

Crunch!

Crash!

He got crushed, along with Robert.

---

The wife slowly fell forward, her skin red and gushing blood.

She slowly crawled forward, her body in constant pain. She sat up. Her body bleeding, leaking, red and stringy, her muscles started to show.

She snapped her fingers again.

"Anaklisi!" she chanted.

The rhino, snakes, and the massive toad suddenly disappeared into a puff of cloudy smoke.

"Honey, you ok?" she asked to a pile of dead corpses.

She looked at the two splatter zones. The two spots of blood and bone and guts. The two squished humans.

She looked closely at her husband's spot. The blood that slowly swished around, trying to form itself back together, trying to come back to life. She then turned back to the car in the distance, her children's crying faces.

"Mindy, Charles! Get the shovel and the container from the trunk. We're gonna take your father into the house!"

Both her children started to cry even more. Their faces pointing straight out. Scared for their lives, for their father's life, for their mothers.

"Mom! Behind you!" cried out Charles.

Tilda slowly turned around.

Damon stood tall, his naked body covered in blood.

The wife fell back stunned. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. An instant, infinite, Immortal!

"Wha... You... How...?! No immortal can regenerate that fast!" she cried out still looking at her husband's corpse, how slow it was regenerating.

Damon scratched the back of his bloody head.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about this." He walked over to the shotgun, picking it up, "no witnesses."

Bang!
