Jango

In Antarctica. On a small snow-covered hill.

A man in a dark grey winter jacket and a red gas mask laid out flat on his stomach.

Ca-chink!

He cocked back his sniper rifle.

"North, five hundred meters. Twenty degrees south. Raised thirteen inches on the horizon."

He tracked through the long scope pointed out into the distance. He followed a small dot as it slowly inched toward him.

The white landscape.

Bang!

Swoooooooooosh...

The bullet shot across the horizon.

Splat!

It struck right through Damon's skull, knocking him down to the ground in a sudden recoil.

Lada jumped to the ground screaming, "a bullet!"

Olezka tracked to where the bullet came from, but the distance and range were too vast and long to make any estimations.

"Lada, we're out in the open get behind Damon now!"

She got up and ran towards Damon's half cold half hot naked body.

Bang!

Swoooooosh...

Another bullet flung across the horizon.

Splat!

It struck right into Lada's neck.

Thump!

She fell onto the cold icy ground as Damon sat up.

Bang!

Swoooooosh!

He jumped out and took another bullet in the chest, protecting Lada from getting hit again.

Olezka quickly turned around. He extending out his hand, sacrificing some of his blood and skin.

Ice Spell: [Frozen Bubble]

Fwooosh!

Chink!

A bubble of ice formed around the three bloodied Witches. The layered walls and thick texture of the ice was strong enough to block any high-caliber shot.

Thunk-

Thunk-

Thunk-

Jango fired off three more shots, but none could penetrate the ice bubble.

Olezka ran over to Lada, squatting over her bleeding neck.

"Shit...!"

He placed both his hand on her open wound. He tried to freeze it, but the bullet went in and out on both sides, so the blood and internal damage was just too terminal.

He turned to Damon, "you deal with the sniper while I try to heal Lada's wound. I can't heal her while worrying about an enemy."

Damon looked down at the bleeding Lada.

For some reason, he felt nothing for her. He felt no sadness, no pity, no happiness, or even hate. He instead, felt pity for Olezka. He felt back for his sister dying. That his sister's life was flashing before his very eyes. And it reminded him of his own past memories. The memories of his own sister. Of all the times he felt pain and loss. The feeling of losing her... Going to all lengths...

He looked at Olezka right in the eyes, "I'll kill the sniper!"

Damon burned a hole through the ice bubble and stepped out onto the cold arctic air. He pointed out his new ice sword. The freezing taking control of his right side.

Bang!

Swooooooooosh...

Splat!

He got shot in the stomach. His blood spilling out onto the white. He healed instantly. He stepped forward. He followed the line of fire.

Bang!

Swooooooosh...

Splat!

He stepped closer. His sword pointed out. His flames held against the air. The two creating a back and forth.

With every step. With every shot. With every bullet, he would get hit and pushed back. With every movement, the blood would spew out from his instantly healing wounds.

The closer he came the faster the bullets would come. The more he pushed back, the more pain he felt. The more bullets would hit. The angrier he would get. With every step.

Bang-bang-bang!

The more he would walk, the more he would run.

The more blood would spill.

He eventually caught a glimpse of the small figure in the distance. He saw the small flashes of the sniper rifle as it fired.

Bang...

Swoooooooosh...

Splat!

He started to pick up speed. He started to run.

Jango stopped firing his sniper rifle. He instead tossed it away and picked up a small black controller with a red button.

"So that's the Immortal Damon. Interesting... Let's see how he deals with this."

He waited until Damon reached the orange marker in the snow. He waited until Damon reached a small ridge in the ice.

He looked at the three orange markers surrounding him. In a circle. Outlining a blast radius.

Jango clicked the button.

Click...

One, two, three-

BOOOOOM!

A massive explosion erupted under the ice. The cracks across the ridge. The two parts erupting into a parting gap of fresh icy water.

Damon was flung across the open air as the explosion crushed his skin and bone. He was tossed all the way up, then all the way back down.

Splash!

He splashed into the erupted river of deadly frozen water. He struggled to stay afloat, the cold water freezing his arms and legs.

He held out his new ice sword as the water freezes into perfect ice, but at the same time, it was boiling and melting, back and forth. The eternal flame in his left hand burning against the raging ice as his right froze the melting boiling water.

Yin and yang.

Jango slowly walked up to the splashing ridge of ice-cold water. He looked in on Damon struggling to stay afloat. He looked at the bubbling water, the sword that froze under his hand. He looked closer at the blue fire that burned underwater.

"Hmmmm... All Immortals fear the same thing. Eternal life lost at the bottom of the ocean, forever drowning, forever swimming. Do you fear that Damon?" he asked while pointing at him.

"I..." Damon tried to speak over the rushing waves of chilling water, "I fear... Boredom!"

"Then are you bored? Are you bored of this life? Do you want to die?"

Damon reached the edge of the exploded ridge, he grabbed hold.

"I did... But now... I want to see this through to the end... I want... To see the future... To see what happens next... To... To have hope... To..."

He looked up at Jango who stood over his grabbing flaming hand.

He stared at him, his determination lost in translation.

"So you want to live then? You want to fight then? You want to fight me then? You want to kill me? You want to kill the Immortal Horses? You want to kill the world? The end..."

The cold cracked against Damon's skin, the heat melted the other. He climbed out from the icy river waters as Jango backed up trying not to get caught up in the Eternal flames.

"Will you burn me? Freeze me? Kill me?"

Damon looked up at him. He looked down at his eternal burning left hand. He looked at his icy right. The two sides. He looked at the distance between him and Jango. He came up with an idea. He increased his regeneration, which in turn increased the blue flames. He then held out the ice sword and grasped it with his left hand. The fire touched the ice.

Pooof!

The ice and fire collided, creating a massive burst of steam. Jango looked in all directions, but Damon was nowhere to be seen. He vanished in the cloud of steam.

"Hmmm... So you created a smokescreen huh?"

Jango extended out his arms.

"Well, two can play at that game."

Damon appeared behind him, his ice sword pulled back, he swung.

Woosh!

Jango dodged down. His body bending back. He pointed up at the sky.

A cloud appeared.

"Get ready Damon... This is worth a finger or two."

Woosh!

Damon swung again, but Jango immediately backed up and ran to the other end of the flowing icy river.

"Are you just going to run, or are you going to fight?" asked Damon, his ice sword pointed out ten feet away from Jango.

Jango looked up.

Summoning Spell: [Nure-onna]

Jango pointed up to the sky. Damon followed his finger.

He saw a cloud in the sky. He watched as it disappeared revealing a snake-like monster. He watched as it fell into the river, into the ice-cold bath below.

"What was that?" he asked.

Jango slowly started to back up, as the monster slithered out of the water.

"Damon, we are different. I don't fight one on one."

"Oh, I've fought someone like you before. You're a Summoning Witch."

"Not just any Summoning Witch."

Slither...

Slither...

Slither...

It was massive. About two humans tall and ten humans long.

"What is that?!" asked Damon again, confused and slightly freaked out by the monster apearence.

It was half-snake, half-human. With long silky black hair, and twisted lips. It also had a long tongue that extended out, cut in two at the end. It wiggled back and forth, its one-sized body, all leading down to its tail. No arms, no legs, only tail. A woman face, and a snake's tale.

"What the fuck is that!"
