Paradox Girl

Aria pointed.

"I won't let you turn me into a weapon."

Gravity Spell: [Weighted Pressure x100]

She sacrificed all the skin on her body, all her fingernails, all and everything that could still grow back.

Dima watched as the spell reached her, touched her, attacked her. She knew that it was instant death, but she also knew something else.

Just as the gravity spell was about to touch her, she pulled out a long thin piece of cloth. She wrapped it around the gravity spell, collecting its wave and containing it inside the cloth. Then with a sudden explosion, the cloth collapsed in on itself, wrapping up into a sudden ball under the intense pressure.

"Wha- Wha- What did you..."

"We've been studying you in secret Aria. And you have two glaring weaknesses in your gravity magic." She stepped forward, "one, when you hit something with your spell it can only affect that object, so it is restricted to one object at a time." She stepped again, "and two, it has a big price if you can't focus and control the output and input of where you are sacrificing. That means you are either only sacrificing one fingernail, or you are sacrificing half of your body."

"Wha... But I didn't..."

Aria looked down at her skin, at her face, at everything. She was bleeding from every part of her body, at every edge and crevasse. All the pain, all the horrible horrible stinging bloody pain.

Dima pulled out her revolver again.

Aria stood with her eyes bleeding, her legs bleeding, her ears bleeding, her hair bleeding, her hands bleeding. She was covered in blood.

Bang!

Dima shot her in the leg.

Thump!

Aria fell back to the ground, her right leg and hand still sticking out.

"Cough Cough," she coughed up blood as Dima walked up to her, standing over her.

Dima leaned down, placing the revolver firmly on her forehead.

"I can kill you at any second. I can kill a Gifted Witch, a one in a thousand human. I can kill someone so strong. Someone who has killed so many Immortals." She pulled the gun away from Aria's head, "but that's exactly why I won't kill you Aria. We have the same goal. And that's why I'm going to sacrifice you instead. I'm going to turn you into a weapon able to end the Immortals." She looked at Aria's wavering eyes of confusion, "isn't that what you wanted Aria? Hasn't that been your entire life? Killing Immortals. Revenge. This is the only way. The only way. So why are you wavering?"

Aria was wavering. The pain. The revenge. She thought about her family, her father, her mother, her seven siblings, their deaths, their murders, the Immortals who murdered them. All the pain. She thought about the years chasing after them. All the times she's killed them. All the times she's fought them. All the times she was injured, put in this very situation.

She thought about-

---

Aria's head:

Damon... I... This is my only chance. You're going to have to go on without me... Or maybe... Maybe you're going to die. Maybe this is the end of the Immortals. Maybe I should just give up. I've killed so many people, so many innocent people, all for what goal? For revenge? To just become a weapon?

And I know it's sad. Not seeing you again. Not being there to fight with you. I met you out of chance. Just another Immortal, just another fighter... Thinking back I can't believe I killed your friends and you still joined me. I still can't believe you followed my crazed dream. A momentum that failed over and over again. Yet you would always... It feels so long ago. But it has been a long time since then. So long... So long... Damon...

Damon...

Damon...

The gun pointed at her head.

Why am I thinking about you! I'm dying and all I'm thinking about is you! Why would I be thinking about that?! About a stupid Immortal! A stupid Immortal! I don't have feelings, I don't care about anyone, no one! I only live for revenge! I only live for murder, for the murder of the Immortals. For the... For the... The... Damon...

Damon...

Damon...

A tear...

Damon...

---

Damon was in the same situation as Aria. His body being killed, destroyed, murdered. And all he could do was think. And all he thought about was one person. Only one.

"Aria... Please... Live..."

Olezka turned back around at Damon's three words.

"What did you say?" he asked.

But Damon's face a solece husk. Laying on the ground, his destroyed body healing and regrowing, dying again and again. Millions and billions of times within a second. Faster than he'd ever tried to regenerate before. But the Frost Bite was faster... And faster... And all he could think about was Aria.

---

Damon...

Damon...

Why am I thinking about you, Damon? Why am I...? Luna... Why didn't I care about Luna's death? Why did I just brush it over? Why did I...? Why...? Damon... I think... I don't know why I have these feelings, I don't know why I tried to hide them. As you fell for Luna, I don't know why I pretended to care...

I think I loved you.

I don't know why, but out of all the people I've known, out of all the people I've hated and liked, your the only one I couldn't kill. The only one who I couldn't murder. So...

She looked up at the book in Dima's hands. She looked at its frame, its face staring back at her.

Another Necronomicon? Oh, it's probably a special one that's going to turn me into a weapon. I guess It's time then. I guess it's time I accept my fate and kill all the Immortals. It's time I finish my quest. It's time I get my revenge. It's time I... I... I... Damon... I...

Stop! Stop thinking about him! You've been fighting for ten years for this revenge! And this is the only way! This is the only way you're going to get it. The only way.

I know it's the only way, but I... But I love him. I want him. I wanted to be with him. I don't want to die, and I don't want to kill Damon. I want to be happy. I want to grow old with him. Have a family with him. Fight with him. But I also want to kill the Immortals. I want two things that can't co-exist. A paradox. I want a paradox. I want to live and I want to die.

---

Aria looked up at Dima.

"Oh, it seems you've excepted your fate. Well just in time. Because the ritual is just beginning. All we need is for you to turn into a Summoner Witch, and use your Gift abilites to summon the Soul Blade from where it is sealed. But it's not going to be easy. You're going to have to sacrifice yourself, and over a hundred lives to do it- To... To do- To... My- My hand-"

She looked at her hand. She watched as it slowly turned to dust.

"What is happening to me-"

Poof!

She disintegrated to dust in an instant.

X Spell: [Regeneration]

Aria's entire body regenerated back to normal. But Aria was still laying on the ground. She didn't move an inch from where she laid. She didn't touch her target and she didn't do anything to incite the Gift Spell. Instead, something else happened. She used a new ability. An ability that came from the complexity of her paradox. A gift ability so strong that no one in the extent of time has been able to use it. A gift ability that only she could use.

She created a gravity spell that would connect to a target and create a link of gravity between them. Then with her Gift Spell, she would use the link to kill or sacrifice her target.

In short, she was able to sacrifice just by looking at someone.
