Jiao ain't normal. This thought occured in all who has ever seen that boy train. I mean, carrying rocks that are as big as Granny Su's wagon just screams talented youth.
Looking at Jiao's training regiment honestly makes the guard's training seem like we're the ones slacking off. He has done too much in my opinion. I will list it now.
Flame Resistance Training. This is where Jiao grabs any burnable material or substance and creates an inferno. Seriously, even 30 feet away, I could feel the heat. He then slowly closes the distance between him and the flame. His best record is 5 feet. While the best guard in our post could only do 15 feet.
Qi Training. This one is honestly a wonder to behold. It's where he pushes the extent of what Qi can do with various tricks. He uses Qi to try and stick to vertical and horizontal surfaces. Seeing that boy upside down was amazing. Honestly didn't know we could do that with Qi. Then he tried walking on water. He failed, of course. After all, only skilled Martial Artists have been known to waterwalk. You have to give that boy credit, however, he's anything if not tenacious. He started to see fruits to his labor. Hell, WE, could see fruits to his labor. Starting from standing for longer periods to walking to jogging to outright running. The smile on his face was heartwarming, now if we can just get everyone's jaw off the floor.
Of course, I said Tricks. He tried to levitate stuff with his Qi. His strained look was hilarious, he tooted too. What made it funnier was his embarrassed blush, the boys and girls got a laugh out of it. Verse same as the first. It started small, raising pebbles then rocks. Larger rock to boulders. He couldn't go any heavier because of a simple truth.
"I don't have enough Qi. It's strong though." - Jiao
Since he couldn't do any heavier objects he opted to do what he can with the pebbles to boulders. With the boulders, it's terrifying seeing that big an object fly as fast as it is. It felt oppressive even, like I'd get crushed. The smaller pebbles though, deadly can't even express how dangerous a small object is to a creature. I've seen that single tiny pebble turn from a simple rock to a killing instrument. It blasted into the stone wall 7 meters deep. I couldn't imagine what it would do to a human body.
Meditation. Granted pretty boring for someone who does things pretty big. It is peaceful though. So peaceful it seems a deer decided to rest by the young man's side. Quite a sight. He called it self-reflection, to comprehend the self and their choices. Didn't understand any of it, but it sounds important. Makes him sound old though. Many considered him a reincarnation of an old sage who kept his memories after death. When asked though....
"I read it in the book by Sage Xiao. Didn't you read it?" - Jiao
....We had a book like that? Huh, the more you know. I'll probably check it out later. He did other minor training too. Flexibility Training, Endurance Training, etc. But, if there was a training exercise that seemed outright weird to the people, it would be this. Jumping. He said it was to "Jump Good".
Seemed silly. With Qi, warriors could already "jump good". He said there's a difference. We didn't believe it. He went silent and just went to equiping the necessary gear for this training. A massive rock. He then proceeded to jump and jump. He went on like this. Jumping, jumping, and jumping some more.
People would have called him crazy if not for the increased height at which he gained each day. He then went onto jumping in the branches of trees with that massive rock on his back. He fell, got up, and jumped in them again. We could see his skill and agility being displayed.
This was how to "Jump Good". It was like seeing a monkey. When the weight came off, that monkey became Sun Wukong. The General wanted to have a race with Jiao to see who was faster. The winner was Jiao, it surprised a lot of people. Jiao gloated.
"Hmmm😏, Told you it was different. Jumping good has it's perks." - Jiao
The General laughed and agreed. We had no doubt knowing how to jump good would be implemented into guard training. *sigh*
Then there's Jiao's martial training. Granted another thing not that special. However, that boy's basics are masterful. He meditates on every Slash and Pierce. Every Punch and Kick. With the fact he constantly goes out to fight bandits, I have no doubts his "Basics" will make a fool of any style user.
Then there are his techniques. Those are what makes Jiao a formidable opponent. Those Flaming Kicks are devastating. His Cyclone Punches would leave anyone's guts twisted and mangled. When he starts getting Red and/or emanating a Flame like aura, you know whoever he's fighting is screwed. Seriously thinking that reincarnation theory is still on the table. Then again maybe it's in another book he read. Should really check that library.
