I cringed because he just demonstrated me another shade of him.

It gave me goosebump as he laid on his mattress, directing to his large king-size bed that had space for four people.

I gritted my jaw and aimed to leave when he said, "I never said you can leave!" 

I halted while my hand was still on the door handle. He was not joking at all.

At that moment, I felt the pain that was lashing me from backward and frontward.

His hand wrapped over my belly, and his wings embraced my body.

"What..."

"Hush, I said, you can come to my bed." 

I was scared of him for a moment. He drew his wings back and took hold of my hand.

Edward went to the front tower. Ai, Karmalin and An were standing inside a room, glancing at a painting.

"I have told you that I would not interfere with anything related to the court." Edward remarked, walking beside Karmalin.

He peeked at Karmalin but his feature wasn't readable anymore.

"You are going too far, Edward." An complained.

"My Queen, this isn't about me but the parliament. I can't protect the girl anymore. They have taken my position and I have no power. How do you expect me to help? What if I hand her to Lashuka unintentionally." Edward clenched his fist?

"Your grandmother is right, son!" Karmalin finally broke that ice and his hand rested on Edward's shoulder. He rubbed his eyes off the painting and added, "The girl had chosen to be by our side. We never left her and she knows that now."
