Shen Yu’s Mentality

Shen Yu cared about the wolves, but she cared about Yun Tian even more. So, when she saw the blood on the ground trailing behind him, she immediately wanted to find out why he was bleeding. The only reason she wasn't too worried and was able to stay calm was that there wasn't much blood and she couldn't see any big injuries on him. Yun Tian acting as if everything was fine helped as well. If he had a serious injury he wouldn't be so calm and would be addressing the injury instead.

Her experience in this type of situation also helped. But even if she was used to seeing him get injured sometimes, she would always worry and want to care for him even if it was only a tiny paper cut.

Yun Tian responded to Shen Yu saying: "I got a cut on my foot, see? No big deal. By the way, I only got this after taking on the full on attack of one of them with my foot alone. And this was all I got and even then you can see that it is already healing quickly. My defensive abilities have grown greatly. So, you don't have to worry as much anymore."

He knew she would worry more if he didn't show her where he was injured. So, he immediately showed her the cut that was in the process of healing and even told her how it happened, hoping to ease some of her worries in the future.

She did calm down after seeing his injury, but his words made her shoot him a frustrated glance, to which he could only flash a helpless smile.

Her cheeks dyed red as she looked at his smiling face. She calmed down and turned to look around. Seeing that the other wolves weren't as injured as Bolin brought her more relief.

After that, she turned to Yun Tian once more with an aloof yet somewhat worried expression and asked, "Is everything fine now?"

He didn't exactly know how to answer that. Around them were the many dead bodies of the people he just killed.

It seemed Shen Yu didn't care though. So, he said, "Yeah, those who tried to harm us are dead and the rest are too scared of us to try anything. We're all good."

At the same time, he thought, 'I guess the values back on earth are too ingrained into me.'

He had thought Shen Yu would be more scared or something like that as she saw the dead bodies around, but seeing how little she seemed to care about them, he realized he had misunderstood Shen Yu.

'She is tougher than I thought,' he speculated. She had not hunted or fought as much as him so he didn't think her mentality would be that strong.

'I guess we have been through a lot already.'

After his words, Shen Yu said somewhat reluctantly, "That's good, but this time was too dangerous. I know you had to look out for me during the fight. I think I should wait outside next time. I don't want to limit your fighting ability and use of your other arm."

Hearing that Yun Tian thought about agreeing for a moment, but then he said, "If I can't protect you while dealing with our enemies at the same time, then why do I even cultivate and grow stronger? Besides, what if something happened while I wasn't there with you. The safest spot for you is with me, right?"

The words Yun Tian spontaneously uttered stunned Shen Yu and sparked many thoughts in Yun Tian's own mind. He hadn't thought too much about his words and they instead just came flying out of his mouth, but as he said them he realized each of them couldn't be any more true.

Shen Yu's downcast expression turned excited as she leapt forward and hugged him. She quickly said with words filled with both happiness and sadness, "I just don't want to make you get hurt unnecessarily, but I know you are the strongest. You can do anything. I don't want to be away from you either really."

She didn't know what sparked these changes in him, but she was happy. She had thought he would immediately agree with her. But she was also extremely happy with his denial.

The main reason was that she knew he would be averse to taking as much risk if she was by his side, especially if it was him bringing her along and not her following him. The other was as she said, she did not like being away from him. Even in the midst of a dangerous battle with people dying around them, she was happy as long as Yun Tian was safe and she was in his arms.

She let go of him and suddenly raised her finger saying: "Oh, how about this! I can just cling onto you myself during fights. That way you can use both your arms."

After she said that though she thought about how she would be pressed against him if she clung onto him and blushed a little.

Yun Tian also scratched his head as his own cheeks dyed red too. He also thought about how it would be if her budding body pressed against him like that, 'That might be a little too much.'

His next thoughts were, 'But it would help a lot. Yeah, it's for both our safety.'

They were having a cutesy conversation in their own world, while in a window above them in the Spirit Market building, Gong was looking on appalled. After Gu Jie died, he had been too scared to come out, thinking Yun Tian might try to immediately kill and rob him.

Now though as he witnessed the two of them being so merry in an area filled with dead bodies he didn't know what to say. He witnessed Yun Tian change from cold blooded killer with great power to a youth frolicking with a girl.
