Rem happily walked toward his favorite fast food joint, Wing Universe; they had every flavor of chicken wings you can imagine. Everything from regular hot wings to Parmesan Galaxy Wings.
The chickens used at Wing Universe weren't only your average Earth Chicken. They had the most exotic chickens throughout the multi-verse.
The chicken wing Rem loved the most was a traditional lemon pepper earth chicken wing. That, along with his favorite soda, Professor Spicer, was his idea of the perfect meal.
It was also the most affordable meal. He was on a limited budget and couldn't afford the more exotic wings.
Orientation Day turned out to be a big hit for him. After naming himself the Monster Emperor, he felt really relaxed.
He and his new friends ticked many of the other students off, but it didn't bother him. He possessed something every heaven shaking genius must keep, irrational confidence.
The other six people in his team were "perfecting" fourteen of his systems. He couldn't imagine how they could perfect one of his systems in less than a week, much less fourteen.
Primm seemed pretty confident. It would be interesting to see if they could follow through on their bold claims. Knowing Fezz was part of the group, he didn't think they could.
It's not that Rem doubted Fezz's competence. After all, Grandpa Zai trained Fezz along with himself. Grandpa Zai could train a pebble to become a mountain.
It's just, as good as Fezz was, he wasn't Rem. Considering his own divine-like ability, it is likely he would need to carry this team this year. What could he do? He was just that awesome.
Rem looked behind and searched his surroundings. Ever since yesterday, he kept getting the feeling someone was following him. However, when he turned around, he never saw anyone.
"I guess this person will eventually reveal themselves when they're ready," Rem thought.
Entering his favorite food place, Rem ordered an extra-large Lemon Pepper Wings and an extra-large Professor Spicer. With the free refills, he could down about four of those things along with his wings.
Wings Universe was an interesting place. Its decor had images of different types of flying equipment displayed. Endless numbers of pictures hung from the walls.
There were even ancient advertisements; well, they were reproductions of ancient advertisements.
Everything from gliders to spirit ships and jet packs was represented. Sometimes, Rem liked to look at these things and imagine what it was like to use these ancient modes of flight.
What would it feel like to take a glider for the first time? Entering a primitive rocket ship and landing on a strange alien world. These ideas were exciting and got him to wander off into fantasy land.
Suddenly, it struck him! He had an idea for a new system.
"I'll just call it "They Sky Hero System" for now. Rem took out his cell phone and started making notes. The Sky Hero System would be introduced on either a nuclear era planet or a fourth-ranked cultivation planet.
The beta-tester would begin by building the most basic flying devices and slowly progress until they reached the pinnacle of power.
Instead of only cultivating the body, it would also cultivate a technological system—a hero who leads an armada of powerful ships.
A Hero who flew through the creation of assistive technologies, but also through cultivation techniques.
The more he thought through the idea, the more excited he grew. He almost missed it when they called his number to pick up his food.
After getting his food, Rem continued to work at a little table for two people next to the wall. Hanging above his head and centered to the middle of the table was an old advertisement.
It was a graphic representation of a jet pack. A phrase was written in part above the jet pack and completed under it. The colors for the ad were yellow, blue, and white. It read:
"Believe it! You can fly."
While Rem was working on a new system concept, his teammates were working on the fourteen systems he previously created.
Not every person needed to work on every system. However, some of them did need to work on every system.
Animina, for example, only needs to augment the Grand Immortal System, The Immortal Water Dragon Incarnation System, and the Ultimate Beast Tamer system.
Icky Bob, Primm, Fezz, and Fries needed to work on every system. Some systems needed their contribution more than others.
Icky Bob had the most work to do since he needed to rebrand the systems, develop marketing plans, business proposals, advertising campaigns, small group focus groups, and study panels.
He even needed to get involved in setting criteria for the beta testers by considering marketing trends.
Not just anybody could be a hero!
Along with all of this, he needed to hire a scriptwriter to make the system progression and challenges interesting enough.
A big trend in the system making for amateurs is to share selected videos of their beta-testers adventures.
Primm helped with the criteria for the psychological measures of their beta-testers. They also needed to establish the health stats for beta testers.
The beta tester couldn't be a paraplegic, for example, unless that were part of the system, the story plot, and within budget.
Different physical constitutions required varying amounts of special medicines to prepare the beta-tester before they could even begin their journey.
Anybody could become a hero if you had enough money to invest in them!
Primm, as the Team Manager, was in constant communication with her teammates. She made sure deadlines were kept, budgets weren't exceeded, and that the system would actually work.
They had so much work to do and very little time, but Primm knew that the difference between having a fully involved Rem and a disinterested Rem was if they could show him he couldn't do on his own what they could do together.
Given Rem's capabilities, this was extremely hard.
Meanwhile, Rem continued working on his new system, even ordering dinner at Universe Wings, unaware of the insanity his new teammates were going through to prove their capabilities to him.
Rem smugly looked at his newest project.
"I'd like to see if they could pull this off!" he laughed to himself because he didn't believe anyone could meet his expectations. He could do it all alone.
