Chapter 12

After a lot of walking, Tianlong finally reached his destination.

The street was neither narrow nor wide, but it was fully packed with people. There were stalls scattered everywhere, some vendors didn't even have a stall and were just laying their merchandise on the floor for the people to see.

Tianlong started making his way through people while looking at everything around. There were a lot of interesting things around. People selling books, people who are claiming to have cultivation manuals, others selling ornaments, some selling some weird plants that I've never seen before but weirdly enough I can tell what they are from the memories I've got.

Let's not talk about the thieves who were running here and there, taking whatever they can, plus the scammers who were trying to sell people some useless charms artifacts claiming they are magical.

'Well it's nothing new, even back at earth stuff like this was everywhere. Now back to the task at hand'

Tianlong walked to a man who looked to be in his 40s, he was sitting on the floor with some books in front of him; he looked at the books and picked up 2 books, one for history and one for basic information about alchemy.

"Hey mister, how much is for these 2 books?" asked Tianlong.

The man looked at the young boy in front of him and thought 'what an interesting young fellow, his body is not emanating any kind of energy, I didn't think it was possible to stop meridians from seeping energy, it is possible to hide it , but not to the point where they feel inexistent, this is inetersting'

"The books are 10 bronze taels each"

"Okay I'll take them both" said Tianlong while handing the man money. After he did so, he turned around to start heading elsewhere, but something changed his mind.

'let me see what an interesting kid like you is capable of' said the man who was still sitting in his position; he sent a wisp of his consciousness to inspect the kid, however he was hugely shocked when the wisp got immediately blocked and disintegrated when he tried to inspect him which made him growl a bit in pain.

Tianlong turned his head to look at the man, but the difference between now and a moment before was that now he was furious. The moment he stood in front of the him he instantly knew that he was strong, he could tell that he was around the 6th stage of foundation establishment, he respected the man because he was stronger but mainly because he was older than him and low and behold the man tried to inspect him without his consent.

"Look here old man, I know you are strong and I was being respectful but that is not a reason for you to breach my privacy" Tianlong said with an angry tone while unconsciously letting out guite a bit of energy.

This made the man feel pressured, a lot. He wanted to stand up but he couldn't.

'WHAT IS THIS MONSTER! His Qi is super pure, even the sect masters Qi is way bellow this young man's Qi purity. This is madness; I can't even tell what cultivation realm is he at?! No matter what it is, I may have just found a genius that can topple all other proclaimed geniuses, I definitely have to get him to join the sect'

After getting his bearings back and spending a lot of energy to resist the pressure the man said "okay young man I apologize it is my fault that I did that so can you please retract your energy"

Tianlong looked at the man in disdain and thought 'it is just as I thought, people here do whatever they want to as long as they are strong enough. And it seems that my Qi state is confusing for him, he can't tell what realm I'm in, it's good to have a surprise factor like this, now he has the idea that I might be stronger than him. I mean, it's not like I'm weaker than him or anything it's just that the realms restrictions is such a hassle to deal which brings my odds a little bit down, I can scrap it out with him but my odds of winning are not 100%. Next on the list is to start cultivating again after I finish gathering information'

Tianlong retracted his Qi back, which after doing so he looked at the man for explanation.

"What's your name young man?" the man asked, but now now he looked to be a bit exhausted.

"Where are you manners mister, you just harassed me for no reason and without any explanation and now you are asking for my name? then tell me your name first, it least I'll have someone to sue if something unexpected happens."

"Ah, I'm sorry how can I forget, my name is Xiao Si, so what's your name your name young man?"

"My name is Tianlong"

"Which prestigious clan do you belong to young Tianlong, why don't you tell me your family name so I can tell"

"You have no business knowing my family name also I don't belong to any clan".

'A raw rough jade, this is really a lucky find' Xiao Si thought to himself.

"Good, good. Now if you may allow me, what sect do you belong to?" Xiao Si asked nervously

'Wait, does he think I'm stupid? I can already tell that he's some big shot of some sect just by the way he tried to inspect me without a care in the world, and with all the question it's easy to tell that he wants to rope me in to his sect. well I'm not losing anything other than time, and for now I've got plenty of that, so let's just go with it and see what his plan is hehe'

"I haven't joined a sect yet" Tianlong said blatantly.

"THAT'S GREAT!!...Ehm, ehm… I mean that's bad… why a talented genius like you isn't already in a prestigious sect?" Xiao Si couldn't hold his excitement and started mashing words together

"Well, first of all I'm not of age yet so I can't join a sect, secondly even if I was of age I don't have any idea about the sects around here or do I know what are the requirements of each sect and when are they recruiting new disciples. I was trying to acquire some information around here but you stopped me here with your bullshit" Tianlong said while he grimaced.

"Ah yeah, I apologize again about my behavior, but now that you have brought up the question, how old are you?" Xiao Si asked while his face showed how intrigued he was 'he's already this strong and he's not even 10 yet!!'

"I will turn 6 next month"

And that's exactly when Xiao Si couldn't hold on to his consciousness anymore and went down face first to the pavement.
