Chapter 8 Shadow of a Man

After being discharged from the hospital, you find yourself in Joseph's apartment. You really don't need to do this. Someone who tried to ram you with a car is on the loose. It's best you don't risk it and go home alone. Joseph starts shuffling about the kitchen area, so you decide to look around. You spot an old framed photo. The young man on the left is obviously a young Joseph. On the right is...also Joseph? You have a twin brother? Had. Julian passed fifteen years ago. Oh, I'm sorry! It was a tragic accident, but you'd be amazed how fast people get over those. My parents sold all of  Julian's  belongings less than a year after his death. Said it was because they worried he had stolen them. Not unlikely, given his track record. By now, the only mark my brother ever left on the world are a couple of photographs...which people will just think are of me. He is my shadow, nothing more. That's an awfully grim way to remember your dead brother. You must really miss your brother. Hahaha! Nobody misses Julian. While I brought home literary prizes and scholarships. Julian brought bail payments. My parents didn't even try to hide how relieved they were that I was the one who survived. Julian...must have been an amazing person. It's been fifteen years and you still get so angry for his sake. T-thats...! I need a shower. Please excuse me. As Joseph leaves, you notice a tear drop down from his jaw. I should make sure he is ok.
