"W-What?" Sasha asked stuttering as she felt a weird feeling of anxiety take over her.
"Yeah they broke up. Aiden and Nicole just had like an huge argument a while ago. Apparently Nicole "doesn't feel the same way" huh! How will she, if she is always over Nathan!" Noelle scoffed rolling her eyes
Sasha did not reply and just looked down not knowing what to say. Aaron noticed her odd expression but decided not to say anything considering Peyton's presence.
"Hey are you alright Sasha?" Peyton suddenly asked as she looked at Sasha with a suspicious expression.
"Huh?" Sasha's eyes snapped to Peyton as she heard her.
"I was asking if you are okay? You seem a little off" Peyton said pressing lips into a thin line, as she fixed her glasses.
"Oh yeah I am! I was just thinking about today's test, I am not very good with this topic" Sasha said as she flashed a nervous expression.
"Oh I am sure you will nail it! Don't worry" Noelle said patting her shoulder
Sasha just smiled and looked at Aiden who was looking at her with a calculative look. Sasha was well aware what that meant. He knew something was up and demands an explanation later on. Sasha sighed looking away as her attention diverted to the crowd. Everyone was busy in their own world, not really concerned about what other people say and think. Her eyes fell upon a significant person. Nicole.
She was sitting there with her friends who were comforting her. By the look on her face, anyone could tell she was pissed. Sasha found it understandable, as everyone was talking about an incident that had occurred in her life but they had nothing to do it. Sasha had been through this before. People talking about things they have no involvement in and have nothing to do with it. Lifeless that may sound but that's what people like to do.
The bell rang indicating that the classes are to commence. Everyone sighed walking. Sasha's classes don't start for another hour but she had come early to do some revisions for her test, with the help of few books in the library. She began to walk alongside Noelle and Aaron who had their classes in the same street of the campus.
"Why did you come so early today? Your classes start later on right?" Noelle asked
"Oh I just wanted to do some revision in the library" Sasha answered
"Oh okay! That's my stop. See you at lunch today! Since we got the same slot!" Noelle said hugging Sasha
"Alright! Bye!" Sasha said as they parted. Noelle went inside bidding farewell.
Sasha looked at Aaron who was standing beside her. He had a serious look on his face. Sasha nervously laughed as she said.
"Upset she didn't hug you too?" Sasha teased playfully.
Aaron's expression remained the same. His held a scrutinizing gaze as he looked at Sasha. Sasha shifted uncomfortably under his gaze as she spoke.
"Your class is this way right? Let's go?" She said raising an eyebrow
"What's going on Sasha?" He asked abruptly.
"W-What do you mean?" Sasha asked feeling slightly confused.
"What I mean is, why are you acting this way?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest
"Acting what way?" Sasha retorted raising an eyebrow.
"You seemed anxious when we told you about the break up. I had expected your mood to lighten a little but it just fell. So I am asking what is going on in your mind?" He asked straightforwardly this time making Sasha sigh as they began walking.
"I don't know.. when you guys told me, I felt you know somewhat scared. It's like something bad is going to happen or something is coming, it was like a wave of mixed emotions flowing through me. I didn't feel like it was a good news and rather felt bad that they broke up. Cause he loved her and her doing this to him must have hurt him. So yeah I guess that's it" Sasha explained.
Aaron just hummed in response as he thought about what Sasha said. Sasha was indeed very calculative and her instincts usually turn out to be true. So it wouldn't be a surprise to him, if what she said turns out to be true. As scary as it sounds but whatever she interprets even if it's by a slight percentage becomes true.
"I understand. After all, your instincts are like whole another level!" Aaron exclaimed dramatically.
"I mean what can I say? I am so fabulous you see" Sasha said cockily.
Aaron just rolled his eyes at her. Sasha beamed at him as he did. Aaron reached his building and they both bid farewell. Sasha huffed a breath and began to walk towards the library. On her way she people doing different things. Some working on their laptops while others where just gossiping with each other. The weather today was sunny but it had cool breezes going on, making it an extremely comfortable weather. The leaves of the tree reflected the light of the happy sun, as they glistened their green pigment. Everything seemed absolutely beautiful but something was bothering Sasha and she was clueless what it was.
She soon reached the library. The smell of books greeted her as she entered the huge brown and polished library of the campus. The sunlight made its way through the ceiling windows of the library, giving the library a sophisticated ambiance. Sasha walked towards and sat at one of the seats by the window which gave a perfect view of the university front which was decorated in lush green grass and an intricately designed fountain which contained water as blue the sky. She let out a breath of nervousness as she thought of the thirty mark test today.
Today's test involved math and heavily focused on the topic calculus. From very early years, math was never Sasha's friend. She had to do extra practice to do well in mathematics. Sasha settled as she began to bring out her books. As began to take them out, she noticed the absence of one book in her bag. She began rummaging through the bag once again.
"Where did my calculus book go?" She mumbled to herself.
She decided to call her mother thinking she must have left it in the car. She couldn't have left it home since she had studied from another book yesterday.
M : Hello?
S : Uh hey mom! It's Sasha. Can you please check if I had left my calculus book in the car?
M : Okay wait a second.
Sasha bit her lip in nervousness. She needed that book as it had few important notes written in it.
M : Sasha it's not in the car. Maybe you could check your locker or desks they may be there.
When her mom said that, it clicked in her mind. She remembered keeping it inside the desk of her class yesterday, when they had a surprise quiz. She must have forgotten to take it out, she thought to herself.
S : Okay thank you mom! Love you.
M : Love you too! Have a great day!
S : You too!
She said as she hung up. Sasha got up from her seat as she head towards the classroom, where she had classes yesterday. For some odd reason her heartbeat kept on increasing with every step she took. She considered it to be the fear of not finding the book and comforted herself being optimistic.
She soon neared the classroom and without thinking any further she head inside and towards the place she sat yesterday. She opened the top of the desk and saw the blue book with 'Calculus' written in bold over it alongside her name. She sighed in relief.
"Oh thank god..." She said huffing as she took the book out and closed the desk gently.
Sasha turned around to leave the classroom, just to get a shock. She flinched when she saw a silhouette of a male standing at the further end. She didn't hear anyone coming into the class, indicating he must have been here all this while and she had entered without realizing his presence. She was so intrigued into finding her book, she did not understand that a person might be here. Sasha squinted her eyes to get a better look at who it was as the figure looked familiar. As soon as she realized who it was, her throat went dry.
It was Aiden...
Sasha cleared her throat. He looked at her with a death glare which she received very often but it still manages to send a shiver down her spine. His eyes were bloodshot and his veins were popping out of his neck. Jaws clenched, hands curled up into a fist as his collarbone became visible with the pressure he had on his breath. His black hair was a mess and he had a killer look. If looks could kill, Sasha would have been dead by now. She knew at this moment. He was furious. Without any exchange of any words, Sasha looked down and began to make her way to the door clutching onto her book.
As she almost neared the door, something happened which made her halt her steps midway. Something she had been longing to be directed towards her. Something her heart was begging for it to occur for years and it finally happened. He spoke to her.
"Are you happy now?"
