Heartbeat. Something which if taken medically is considered to be just an organ to pump blood and survive. Emotionally, a possession given to people we love. It can be divided into pieces for different people or be fully given to someone to take care of it. Sasha had given it to someone fully, only to have it broken by the person himself. Her heartbeat increased with every second that passed by liking a flying wind going into an unintended direction, without any care in the world. Little did the time know that each second it allowed to pass was a detriment to the brunette standing frozen.
It hurt. The pain she had bandaged within the fake smile she puts on, had once again started to ache. Sasha felt her longing heart shatter to pieces as she finally heard him speak to her, after four long years. Four years of emptiness, four years of mental torture and four years of desperation. But why did she feel her heart break? The walls she was building to desperately get over with it, were broken by the sound of his voice without any effort, like a strong soundwave breaking a weak glass into shreds, leaving behind the pieces to be picked up. All he had to was speak. That's all that took to break her. Sasha couldn't help but feel embarrassed at how pathetic she is. How he could make her feel all kinds of ways just by the sound of his voice.
Sasha had a mental war over the decision. Grip on the book getting tighter, as dilemma was making it's tour lavishly around her head, messing up her emotions on the way. The decision was to turn around and face it or just leave without any further discussions. Sasha leaned towards the latter. Sasha took the first step and began to walk away.
But to her surprise she felt herself moving backwards with a tremendously tight grip on her arm. She felt her rigid back hit the white wall as she came face to face with the infuriated boy.
The light from the hallway shone on one his tanned skin making him look like an ethereal monster to her. The light gave his menacingly beautiful brown orbs its own glow. His hair a mess as he looked at the cowering girl with nothing but fury. His large hands hit the wall beside which Sasha was standing, making her trapped between his arms.
"Are you happy now? That I am suffering? That you get to see the show?" He said in a low voice as he looked at her.
His fiery eyes held nothing but a pure look of distrust and hatred. Aura taller than height, he gave off a vibe of nothing but venomous rage. Sasha did not utter a word. Despite the angered male standing in front of her, she did not feel scared of what he could do to her cause the emotional damage he had done is much worse than any other harm he could inflict on her. As ridiculous as it sounded but it was nothing but outright veracity. Sasha just simply stared with a gaze which was incomprehensible to him. He doesn't know and won't know what that gaze meant, to him it was just a simple stare. Only the one holding the gaze knows what it meant and the depth it held.
"What? Are you going to throw a party today? "Yay! Aiden got his heart broken and he is in misery" huh? Are you!?" Aiden asked in a mocking tone.
He felt angered. The moment he saw Sasha, his anger inflated to a tempestuous level. He was frustrated from his break up and needed something to vent it out on. The moment he saw Sasha, he felt his rage take control of him and his mind not being in the right state did not make it any better. Sasha's silence had further added fuel to the fire as he lashed out at her.
"ANSWER ME!" He roared followed by a hiccup as his hands once again hit the wall with which he was trapping Sasha.
Sasha lightly jumped at the sudden scream but remained silent. His voice sounded unstable as he screamed at her, he was also swinging a lot. His eyes were drowsy as he expressed his rage. Suddenly Sasha felt an heavy weight on her as she felt herself pasted to the wall behind her. It took her a while to understand that Aiden passed out on her. She could hear his soft breathing. Sasha suddenly got a smell of something unknown yet awful. Judging by the behaviour, she came to a conclusion that he was drunk. Sasha's heart softened as she thought about him. He must have been hurt bad enough to get drunk this way. Panic rose in her as she thought of what to do. She couldn't leave him like this. Not for the heart but for the sake of humanity. She rummaged through the ways to help him in her mind.
An idea suddenly hit her, as she tried to get him off her and to one of the seats. He was extremely heavy so it was difficult for her to get him to place. After a lot of struggle, she was finally successful. She looked at his sleeping form. Drool dropping down his peach lips as he laid there blacked out, unaware of the surroundings or the damage he had done. Just sleeping peacefully like a baby, eyes closed shut. Sasha sighed as she remembered what she had to do. Her eyes fell upon the clock to see she still had around forty minutes till the test. She cursed under her breath as she thought about her failed plan of revisions. This test was hard and she wanted to revise before giving it. She however, felt confident as she had studied hard enough last night to be able to get a satisfying mark. She sighed yet again as she looked through the possible places in hope of finding the solution. She went out of the campus and to the seating area in the open. The lush green trees and the white clouds greeted her, as the sun peaked out from behind them trying to get a glance of her. There she spotted a group of people sitting and chit chatting with each other. The atmosphere didn't seem as jolly as it usually is but it was not absolutely down either. Sasha fiddled with her fingers as she contemplated on her decision. She almost walked back to where she came from and leave the problem where it was. It was not supposed to be her concern but she couldn't help but intervene. It felt like hers.
After a long session of a mental war, Sasha swallowed her pride and began walking to the group with shaky steps. Her breaths got uneven as she felt herself somewhat shaking in fear. After four long years, it's her making the attempt.
The first person to notice her, as she neared the place, was the curly haired girl. She had a somewhat confused expression as she saw Sasha approaching. Sasha was breathing heavily. Her eyes met with the curly haired girl and she took a big gulp. Ruby noticed Sasha's shaky posture and whispered something in her friend's ear. Her friend, Aria, looked into the direction and raised an eyebrow. By the gestures of their conversation she could tell, they were talking about her.
She neared and stood by the place as people continued talking. Sasha slightly squirmed as she thought of a way to start. She cleared her throat taking the attention of everyone in the table. Ruby and Aria exchanged looks with each other and so did the others.
"Oh hey Sasha!" Ruby said smiling which she was well aware was fake
"H-Hello.." Sasha stuttered as she continuously fiddled with her
"Umm can we help you?" It was Zoey this time who spoke.
Zoey Chia. She was a transfer student from Singapore. She had small eyes and a somewhat pointy nose. Her hair was a shade between dark brown and black. She had a high pitched voice and had a behavior filled with cutesy which is what made her popular among the guys, who found it "adorable". She was pretty but recently, she had gotten too thin which had ruined her beauty in Sasha's opinion.
Sasha heard Zoey's questions. Her might fogged up as she thought of ways to say what she wanted to. She got absolutely lost in her thoughts. Her lips parted and eyes staring straight at Zoey almost frozen. Zoey raised an eyebrow as she felt akward at the stare Sasha was giving her. Sasha suddenly felt all eyes on her, each scrutinizing her in their own way.
"Sasha?" Zoey called out
"N-Nathan!" Sasha said frantically
Sash realized what she said and scolded herself mentally at her frantic behaviour. She saw a look of pure shock spread over the faces of everyone. Her eyes fell to the male she had called out for. He had a mixture of shock and anger on his face.
"I need to talk to Nathan" Sasha said a little more confidently this time.
"Do you have a minute?" Sasha said looking at Nathan. He was silent as he looked at her. Sasha raised an eyebrow.
"No" Nathan just bluntly let out.
Sasha was taken aback by the response. She expected him to at least talk to her but he just rudely declined. She felt helplessness creep onto her, as the feeling of inferiority took over. Once again swallowing her pride, she spoke.
"But it's urgent" She said lowly
"I don't care. You can leave thank you" Nathan stated turning away making his back face her.
"I really need to talk to you, Nathan. If it weren't urgent I wouldn't have come here. So can you please listen to me?!" Sasha said suddenly feeling impatient
"I think you should hear her out Nathan" Ruby suddenly said. By the look on her face, Sasha could tell she was enjoying her helpless state.
"Yeah I think it's urgent, or else she wouldn't have come to talk to you" Asher spoke. His voice seemed genuine to Sasha. Asher flashed a look of sympathy to Sasha as she looked down feeling humiliated. How much more would she have to bear for Aiden?
Nathan looked back and forth between his friends who gave him an encouraging look. He let out a frustrated sigh as he got up walking past Sasha. Sasha did not understand the movement and just let her eyes follow him as left. Nathan stopped his steps and said
"Come on! I don't have whole day" He said walking a little further away from the place.
Sasha followed after him. He soon halted by a tree and stood in front of her. Sasha fiddled with her fingers as she thought of a way to inform the short haired boy, who gave him nothing but a look of judgement.
"I..." Sasha trailed off not knowing how to say. She remained silent as she processed how to form words.
"Can you make it quicker?" Nathan said in an annoyed voice.
"I-I w-wanted to s-say..." Sasha spoke again feeling clueless.
"Yes what?!" Nathan snapped. Sasha just gave him a blank look. Nathan looked away in irritation. He tapped his foot on the grass waiting for an response. When he got none he threw his hands in air looking at her before speaking.
"I'm just going to leave! I knew it was a waste of time anyways" He said turning away beginning to move. Sasha noticed the movement and got frantic. She suddenly spoke.
"I-Its about Aiden" She said quickly
Hearing her words made Nathan turn around immediately.
"Aiden?" He said as he came closer
"What about him?" He spoke feeling curious. Sasha sighed.
"He got drunk and passed out" Sasha said with a huff
"How do you know?" Nathan said with an incredulous expression.
"Cause he passed out on me" Sasha said showing hand gestures, pointing to herself as her eyes met upwards as she stated like it was obvious.
"What?! Where is he?!" Nathan asked as he raised his voice.
"In room number 407 of the economics building" Sasha said
"Take me there right now!" Nathan demanded.
Sasha began to walk leading the way and Nathan followed walking by her side. The entire group gave a confused look to each other as they saw the two leave to somewhere. Someone had a glare plastered to her face as she looked at Sasha leave the place with Nathan. They both soon reached the hallways nearing room 407. Nathan spoke suddenly.
"What happened exactly?"
"I went to the room to get a book of mine when he suddenly appeared and got mad at me. Then he attacked me and passed out on me" Sasha explained not really eager to be meticulous about the situation.
"What did you say to him that he got mad?" Nathan asked gritting his teeth.
"That's the irony. I didn't say anything" Sasha said giving a sarcastic smile making Nathan give her a baffled look as his face scrunched up to portray that expression. Sasha just shrugged giving another sarcastic smile
They soon reached the room and Sasha opened the door and Nathan walked in behind her.
"God this idiot!" Sasha heard Nathan curse behind her.
He went forward and checked his state.
"Wow he is heavily drunk! How much more stupid can he get?!" Nathan said to no one in particular.
Sasha just looked at them. Her eyes suddenly fell to the clock to see she just had twenty minutes. She sighed and thought of going towards the classroom for maybe studying for last twenty minutes at least. She began to head out of the room not willing to initiate any other conversation. As she neared the door she was yet again stopped by another voice making her look back.
"Hey!" Nathan called out making Sasha look at him. He seemed awkward which made Sasha cock an eyebrow.
"Thanks for the help" He said looking down at the passed out Aiden.
Sasha nodded in response and without another word, she walked out.
