I snap my eyes open from my sleep, forgetting where I was for a second. I turned my head and saw my phone ringing. Christian was calling me, but I decided to leave it to go to voicemail.
I sat up in my king-sized bed, remembering that I had an event to go to at 8 today. I groaned in irritation at the thought of being there. I yawned as I ran my fingers through my black hair and rubbed my eyes.
Getting off the bed, I got to my bathroom and brushed my teeth. I brushed quietly, while I started to get lost in my thoughts.
Finishing brushing my teeth, I flick off any negative thoughts I might have about tonight. I need to be on my a-game. I need them to want to work with our company. I open the door and make my way to the kitchen, to my surprise I see Christian standing there.
"Why the fuck didn't you answer your phone? He muttered with a glare. I stare at him with confusion, then laughed.
'I know he's not talking to me like that.' I say to myself.
"Because you are bloody annoying," I say pouring myself a glass of orange juice. Christian stares at me as I take a sip. I put the glass down and laughed.
"Besides, I owe you nothing," I tell him walking away, obviously done with the conversation. He follows me to the living and takes a seat right beside me.
"Why are you mad?" He asked me, with furrowed brows. I looked at him and scoffed.
No way did he just ask me that.
"Are you being serious?" I asked withholding my laughter.
Christian nods his head.
"You are mental if you think I don't know that you aren't coming with me to the event," I say forming my lips into a line.
He looked at me unable to speak. I placed my feet on his lap and lay down. He stares at me for a few seconds trying to find the right words to say.
"Look, I'm sorry... About everything," he says, knowing I was also still upset about him not sticking up for me.
I pull a sarcastic half-smile up at Christian, "All is forgiven, I guess."
"Has father told you what you need to do?"
I nod my head, "Yeah, basically mingle with a bunch of rich people and make a good impression, since you both aren't attending."
My patience and dignity are going to be thrown out the window.
"Pretentious," he states with a smirk.
I nod my head in agreement. "Very."

After a couple of hours, Christian decided to leave so I could get ready. I'm terrified of messing up, but I decided to push those negative thoughts aside.
I walked into my room, but something caught my eye. I walk up to my closet to get a closer look. I paused. To my surprise, I saw a silky long red dress that was hanging on a hook against my closet with a note. I pick up the note and read it.
I hope you enjoy your night, love. Make sure to mingle with others and make me proud. I need this to go well!
Sincerely,
Your father.
Putting the note down, I shake my head and smile. I take another glance at the dress. It was a wine red with a slit in the outer thigh. I turned my head to the floor where I saw a pair of black stiletto heels.
I rolled my eyes and shake my head, making my way to my vanity. I sit down in the black chair and start doing my hair.
I decided to give myself loose curls and style my curtain bangs. I could put into words how annoyed and nervous I was. I don't know what to expect and that's freaking me out.
Don't be nervous, what's the worst that can happen?

I stood in front of my mirror staring at myself. I was in awe, the red dress hugged me in all the right places. The dress was tight around my torso but flowed down my legs. The dress was touching the floor with the slit trailing behind me. The black heels made me feel like a model.
I had minimum makeup due to the fact I really had no clue on how to do it. My lips were matte red, the same color as the dress.
My hands ran down the sides of the dress, feeling every curve. I pull my eyes away from the mirror and walk out my bedroom.
I was outside in front of a limousine that my father had ordered for me. I didn't get a chance to ask how long the ride would be, since I was rushed to enter the limo.
"Good evening, Sorry that I rushed you... Your father said you were in a hurry." The driver said through the window.
"It's all good," I say with a warm smile, meeting eyes with him through the rear view mirror. He gives me a warm smile and nods his head.
"We should be there in a couple of minutes." He informs me while rolling up the window. I nod my head.
I turn to face the window and sigh. New York looks so beautiful at night. I remember now why we loved it here so much.
The car came to a stop, indicating that we had arrived.
Oh, that was fast. I didn't even get time to hype myself up.
The car door suddenly opened, the driver was standing there holding the door for me.
I slide out the car, looking around, I see many people entering the building. I turned my head, meeting eyes with the driver.
"Thank you." I say pleasently.
"You're welcome, you look wonderful this evening." He tips his hat in appreciation, I smile and nod my head.
I turn my head back to face the building. The butterflies in my stomach were going crazy right now, but I got this.
Do you though? You know what happens when your around a large group of people. My subconscious reminds me.
Oh god. This is going to be a long night.
