Chapter 21: Chapter 21

INT: SHIP, ETHAN AND OLIVIA'S CABIN – DAY.

Olivia's POV:

"Lisear Elamora." I enchanted.

I sighed. Magic isn't working for me at all.

It's been three days we got onboard after the captain made us pay double the price everyone paid. It kinda made me wonder how long we are going to bribe our way through before we run out of money.

"Where is Ethan?" I thought.

I haven't seen him for those three days. Do I always have to look for him? First of all he lodge us at the VIP side of the ship; it got pools, different games to play, a baseball and basketball court, a library, a cinema, and every other thing you might need. The ship was huge.

"No wonder they called it 'The Titan'." I thought.

Should I go out searching for Ethan. No, obviously not.

During those boring three days I tried to learn a new skill, magic. I even visited the library but everything I found just showed basic magic tricks.

I needed something tough, something defensive.

I flipped through the spell book Irene gave me, but something fell off.

I bent to pick it. "Oh no." I thought. "It's Irene's magic reverser amulet".

I sighed. We were now deep in the ocean, and there was no way I could return it.

I packed my studying books. On a second thought, I decided to go find Ethan. I really missed him.

First of all, I need to go to the kitchen to get an onion to scare off the vampires since the sun was down already. Then the werewolves or any other blood thirsty person. I sighed. I would cross that bridge if it comes.

I left the cabin.

INT: SHIP, KITCHEN – DAY.

I sneaked through the hallway to the kitchen which wasn't hard to find since I used my sense of smell.

I sneaked into the kitchen, I just needed to get to the store and pick an onion.

The light turned on.

"What do you think you are doing?" Asked one of the chefs.

I scratched my head as I stuttered. " Um..."

"Don't lie to me lady." She snapped.

"I needed an onion." I said twitching my toes as I bent my head mischievously.

She grinned. "You are the Xphynx everyone has been talking about aren't you?"

"Uh...yes ma." I stuttered.

"You don't have to fear me, young lady. I'm not a vampire or werewolf." She assured.

"A witch?" I inquired.

She grinned.

"No. I'm an 'Angman'." She said.

I gasped. "Angman?" I've never heard of it.

"Yes, part man part bird." She explained.

" Wait a minute." I thought. "Where you the lady I saw in the crowd who flew over everyone." I asked.

"Maybe not." She snapped. " But the lady you saw might probably be an Angman." She added.

I sighed. Maybe being an Angman is better than being a Xphynx cat.

"Do you fly?" I asked.

"A lot."

"Ok. I have to get going now." I excused.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" She asked.

"No."

"The onion." She said handing an onion to me.

"Thanks." I received it.

"Anytime." She said.

I was about leaving.

"It's your mate isn't it?" She called.

I gasped. "Mate." I thought, I turned to her.

"The alpha wolf." She added.

"Um..." I gulped. "Yes."

"You two are unusual." She said. "An alpha getting a xphyx cat mate. It's cute but unusual."

"O God." I thought. "Was I going to tell her Ethan marked me as his mate when I tried to save his life. That was hilarious, it would be the most hilarious joke of the century."

"That's what people say about us." I lied hoping she doesn't find out.

"Ok. If you are looking for him, I suggest you check the bar, on the other side of the ship. I saw him around that lane." She informed.

"Thanks." I said and dashed out.

INT: SHIP – DAY.

I strolled down the hallway contemplating if I should go find Ethan.

"The other side of the ship." I thought. "I could get lost finding him, and going to the other side I would have to leave the VIP lodge which is more serene, safe and with lesser number of people.

I sighed. "Why would he go that far?" It turned out I knew the answer already.

I finally reached the other side of the ship, with more people, more noise, more glares and stares.

What caught my attention was a man in Black robe and a hoodie who glanced at me and ran away.

I ran after him.

"Hey wait up." I called but he ignored.

He was too fast, and I was panting for breath already but my curiousitty seem to fuel me.

"C'mon I don't bite." I assured.

After about thirty minutes of hard chase, I finally cornered him in the male's toilet.

"Eew, disgusting."

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Please don't hurt me ma'am." He begged.

I wasn't going to hurt him, why was he behaving like a nerd.

He was backing away from me because of the onions I held. He was a vampire.

"Please take off the hood so I can see you." I said.

He slowly pulled down his hoodie.

I gasped. "Einstein." I muttered, then frowned and stretched the onions I held towards him.

He backed away but the wall stoped him. The scent of the onions was killing him.

"Plee.....ase do...n't hurt me Xphynx, sorrr....ry Olivia." He stuttered.

I frowned; his pleadingly voice was making me feel guilty already, like a bully. He was the one who tried to cook me in the first place, he was also the one who stabbed Ethan with a poisoned blade. I had enough reason to hurt him.

"Why are you dressed like this?" I asked.

"When I heard you were onboard, I didn't want you to spot me easily. So I had to disguise myself." He said.

I gasped. "How many people knows I'm on board?" I asked.

"24 maybe a hundred. Everyone knows you are onboard. 'The Last Xphynx Cat Has Return' they say." Einstein explained.

I gulped, maybe it isn't a good idea running around after all.

"The last xphynx has returned." I muttered contemplatively.

"That's what a witch prophesied."

I scowled at him, he was on his knees already begging for me to spare him. "Stop the superstitious." I snapped.

"Please spare me, I promise to make it up to you." He pleaded.

I smirked.

"I need you to help me find Ethan." I said.

He raised his brow. "The Werewolf?" He asked.

I nodded.

"I don't have his scent." He complained.

"If you follow me to our cabin, we could find something." I assured.

I was beginning to like Einstein already, although he was mischievous and he tried to cook me. I could tell he would be a good friend and companion.

He smirked darkly. "No."

I furrowed my gaze on him.

"You have his scent on you." He explained.

"Umm...how?" I stuttered.

He smiled rising to his feet. "He's your mate. I could get his scent from the mark on you." He said.

"Hmm." I hummed inwardly.

Einstein took some of my hair and placed it behind my back exposing my neck. "Permit me." He said.

"Do whatever you want." I snapped.

He snuggled his head on my neck sniffing on Ethan's mating mark on me.

He's sniffing brought a burning sensation to me. He finally lifts his head up and stared at me.

I stared at him in irritation. I slapped him making him fall to the ground holding his cheeks.

"I'm so sorry." I apologized. "I really didn't mean to."

I didn't understand why I hit him, I was the one who allowed him to get Ethan's scent from my neck but why did I hit him for doing so.

I threw away the onions I held to help him up. "I'm so sorry." I said holding him.

"Don't worry." He assured. "You only acted on impulse." He added.

****

Einstein's POV:

The pleading look on Olivia's eyes showed that she really didn't mean to hit me. Of course she did acted on impulse.

Sniffing on her was like trying to steal her from her mate and since she in love with her mate and protective about him, hitting me was the expression.

I could only be thankful that her claws weren't out when she hit me. I probably deserved that anyway.

****

Olivia's POV:

"I had just hit someone." I thought.

How was I able to muster the force to make him fall to the ground. There was still a lot I was yet to understand about myself.

"It's okay ma'am. I'm fine." Einstein said with a grin.

"Stop calling me ma'am." I snapped. "I'm not that old." I added.

He raised his brow.

I sighed. "I'm Eighteen."

"You're really so young." He scoffed.

I frowned from the change of attitude.

"I'm fifty seven." Einstein said.

I wasn't so surprise about his age, since werewolves and vampires don't age at all. But it made me want to think of how old my grandfather was or how old Ethan was.

We never got to talk about that.

I think only time would tell, right now. "I need to find Ethan".

"I'm sorry." I said again.
